HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 & 11:00A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Joshua 22-24; Luke 1:41-60 Monday, March 24 John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. Jesus, the Great I AM: You are paid admission into eternal life, and the only way of access to God himself. I plead these four promises for __________ and __________, because they are, until now, unsaved. 1.That they will be born again Let them enter the city of refuge and be safe. Help them board the Ark and be secure. I want to explain to them how no one can be lost who takes Jesus Christ as the door of salvation in his or her own soul. They can enter by Jesus into peace. He is the only door, but an open doora wide door and a safe door. Let them rest their hope for entrance into heaven on Jesus, the only way. 2. That they will go in They, too, can be adopted into Gods family, share the childrens food, and take part in all the honor and enjoyment of the only begotten Son. Let us go ininto the bedrooms of intimate communion, into the buffets of love, into the treasures of the covenant, and into the storehouses of the promises. Let us go in to the throne of grace in the boldness of the Holy Spirit. 3. That they will go out Then let us go out into the world to serve and suffer in the name and power of Jesus. This is a blessing much forgotten: to bear witness to the truth through trials, and bring glory to the gospel that way. Make me your messenger! 4. That they will find pasture All our needs are met in your Son. In fellowship we grow, and in serving others we are satisfied. Let me direct them to the wellspring of the gospel. Amen. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS CROSS Chronological Bible Reading: Judges 1-3; Luke 1:61-80 Tuesday, March 25 John 12:33 This he said, signifying what death he should die. I Thank You, Holy One: The ship of the church has never paused in its purpose because of persecution, affliction, or death. In looking back at her history, these were rough winds that only served to fill up her sails. Help me recognize that no progress is more certain in my life than that which comes through suffering and the cross. Matt. 27:30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. I Thank You, Heavenly Redeemer: You traveled a rugged path of suffering with heaving heart and heavy footsteps. But in taking that path you paved a royal road of mercy for all your enemies to follow in repentance. Mark 15:20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him. I Thank You, Masterful Sufferer: Your crown was not made of straw but of thorns, producing pain as well as picturing scorn. Your scepter was a reed, used by the guards to pummel your brow, used for blows that were as cruel as they were insulting. And after they mocked you, they ripped off the purple robe that staunched the wounds on your back. Matted and then dried, this caused the furrows drawn by the scourges lash to flow afresh with a crimson tide. Different clothing raises doubt about the identity of an individual, but the people saw you in the street in your own clothes, confirming you were really crucified, and no one was substituted for you. You carried your own cross as long as you could, proclaiming your guilt (falsely so), and intimating your doom. Condemned to die so I might live. My Lord. My God. I thank you. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Judges 10-12; Luke 3:1-19 Friday, March 28 Isa. 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Infinite God, All High and Glorious: We are toiling and boiling, stressed and distressed. The thought of your perfect peace comforts us. Your purposes cause you no worries. You are not frustrated by failure, because your power is unlimited and your goodness is not undeveloped. Bring order out of our confusion and turn our defeats into your victories. We sow in tears, but you promise to let us reap in joy. Establish your kingdom in the hearts of others through useven through our failures. We come to your throne carrying a body of sin and death. Consequently we often carry much of sin, much of worry, and much of sorrow. We want to be unburdened at your mercy seat right now. As for our cares, we are ashamed we even have them, seeing how you care for us! We have trusted you since we have been saved; your love is not a matter of question. We therefore leave every concern we have for our family or ourselves, for our business or our health, entirely with you. As for our sin, we bless you Lord for a sight of the precious blood of Jesus, because when you see it your wrath passes over us. No angel of justice can strike where the blood of your Son is sprinkled. Give us a sight of the blood, too, so we can rest knowing you have put away forever our guilt since we believe. Lord, help us stand before you today, entering into your rest even as we enter into your presence. May this be a day when the peace of God that passes all understanding keeps our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. We ask it for his names sake. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Judges 4-6; Luke 2:1-26 Wednesday, March 26 Isa. 65:23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. Holy Lord and Redeemer: People are dying, the church is sleeping, and cults and deceivers are blanketing our city. Do you not say something in all this? I know you are sovereign, but your sovereignty always acted with wisdom and love in past ages. Do you not still say to us today, 1 Cor. 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain? But have I so labored, Lord? Help me be real with myself and not too flattering. How much of the ruin of the church lies at my door? How much of the burden of God should I bear today? Certainly enough to lead me to pray! It would be wise to confer with one another about the causes of decline and the methods for success, but all conference with flesh and blood is worthless unless preceded by conferences with God. I need God in order to do the work of God. My Father! To accomplish your work you have to bare your own arm. If you had prospered us and everything had gone as we planned, then we would have grown self-confident. But now Lord, we see in Christianity the contrary. Let me run back to closer fellowship and nearer communion with you than ever before. I want to take hold on the arm of your strength and stir you with my revival praying! Lord, revive your work (not mine). Give me a revival of witnessing. Give us a revival of gospel preaching. Let Paul preach again! Send us the ancient ministers. We can do without oratory, but not without Christ crucified! Make me bold today in the proclamation of your undying love, for Jesus sake. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Judges 13-15; Luke 3:20-38 Saturday, March 29 Psa. 89:31-33 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments; Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail. Faithful God and Father: In the Old Testament you made a promise to David. It was sure and certain. In the New Testament you made a promise with us that is ratified with the blood of your Son and with the word of God. It cannot be altered or cancelled. I have an eternal guarantee that as long as God lives, so will I live with you. Alterations and afterthoughts belong to short-sighted beings, but not to God. I may meet with unexpected events that cause me to change my mind, but you see everything from the beginning. You have no reason to shift position from saving me, not even because of my future sins. Since you cannot change in heart Lord, you will not change your mind. What security it gives me to find you so steadfast! Your faithfulness will never fail, though mine often does. 2 Pet. 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, You promise me the crown of your kingdom. You promise me the excellent beauty of your person. You promise me the essence of your nature because of my trust in your Son to save me. If you stop being true to this covenant, you forfeit your holy character. In what stronger language could any groom express unchanging love for his bride? Even when you chasten me, your lovingkindness is doing it. There is henceforth no excuse for me ever to doubt your love. And so I thank you, Jesus. Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Judges 7-9; Luke 2:27-52 Thursday, March 27 Josh. 1:2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. All to Jesus, I surrender; all to Him I freely give; I will ever love and trust Him, in His presence daily live. All to Jesus I surrender; humbly at His feet I bow, Worldly pleasures all forsaken; take me, Jesus, take me now. All to Jesus, I surrender; make me, Savior, wholly Thine; Let me feel the Holy Spirit, truly know that Thou art mine. All to Jesus, I surrender; Lord, I give myself to Thee; Fill me with Thy love and power; let Thy blessing fall on me. All to Jesus I surrender; now I feel the sacred flame. O the joy of full salvation! Glory, glory, to His Name! I surrender all, I surrender all, All to Thee, my blessd Savior, I surrender all. Judson W. Van DeVenter, 1896

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

# INTERCEDE WITH GOD # INSTRUCT SAINTS # PROMPT PETITIONS # KICKSTART DEVOTION

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
