Mandatory documents for your application:

1. printed and signed application form (please send this in paper copy to us) 2. transcript of academic records (This must contain the names of all courses that you have studied together with grades you receive. If you are still in your last semesters/terms it is okay to send an incomplete transcript. The transcript must be either in German or in English. If the university does not issue transcripts in one of these languages you need to submit a translation by a certified translator together with a scan of your original transcript. We advise you to also send course descriptions if available. These will help our specialists to assess your past studies and will increase your chances to be accepted.) 3. curriculum vitae 4. cover letter (The cover letter should contain in your own words the reasons why you would like to study at RWTH Aachen University, why you would like to study in the particular field that you have chosen, why you are qualified for the chosen program, what motivates you to come to Aachen and in which way you have or will prepare yourself for a stay at RWTH Aachen University.) 5. two letters of recommendation (please explain to your referees that you need to scan the letters of recommendation and that they should not issue you any sealed letters) 6. GRE (General test - no older than 5 years) score (German and EU-citizens are exempted and only need to upload only a copy of their passport) 7. language certificate [Toefl, IELTS] (persons with citizenship of the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia or persons who visited school/university for more than 3 years in one of these countries may instead of a language certificate upload either their passport or a proof of school-/university-attendance) Documents you need for enrolment: A.) final certificate of successfully completed Bachelors degree or a degree comparable to a Bachelors degree (if applicable: translation of the certificate into German or English by a certified translator) B.) complete transcript of records (if applicable: translation of the certificate into German or English by a certified translator) Please make sure that the resolution and quality of the pdf-files that you upload is such that these files are easily readable. Please be advised that an incomplete application is not possible. You can finish the online application only if you are able to upload the documents mentioned under points 2 to 7.
