The cost of a commodity is given by C = 4x + 3x2 where x is the quantity of a commodity produced. If the quantity is measured as 10 with an error of 0.2 find the approximate error, relative error and percentage error in calculating the side of a square of size 5 metres is inconsistently measured as 5.11 metres. Find to one decimal place the resulting error in calculating the area of the square. What do you have to find? Approximate. Relative or percentage. 2. Show that the error in calculating the area of the triangle is approximately hbc cos A, in the usual notation. 10.
