Kathy Funge and Carmen Gray, two of our 4th Grade Catechists, asked if they could hold a bake sale here at OLV to help raise money for a service project through Barrington Elementary and Crimson Cup. Fifth Graders raising money for 5th Graders in El Socorro, Honduras.
Dear Mrs. Fishpaw, Thank you for supporting us throughout our service learning project as we raised money for the children in El Socorro, Honduras. This service learning project has helped us learn all about the different types of trading and how they are so important to the economy. We were working hard to help them go through with their education and work past fifth grade. We raised $3,328.91! Thats enough money to give a child education for 110 months, or 11 children an extra year of school! We are so lucky and thankful for all the things you have done for us. I will tell you that the children in El Socorro will be happier than ever to find out that they will be moving forward in their education, Once again we are so happy for all you have done for us. Without you we couldn't even started making any money for the poor children in El Socorro. Sincerely, Barrington Elementary 5th Graders (Anna, Claire and Caitlin)
