The Child Education Society, the apex body of Bal Bharati Public Schools and
other institutions of higher education, was set up in the year 1944 during the
pre-independence era when the elders thought that Indian culture, heritage, tradition
and ethos must be preserved and fostered and in order to achieve these objectives,
it became obligatory for the Society to educate the young people. Thus, the Society
was registered under the Registration of Societies Act, 1860.
Today the affairs of the Society are managed by the Board of Management consisting
of eminent educationists and social workers and headed by Sh. K.K. Khullar, an
eminent educationist and a social worker as the President of the Society. Under his
dynamic leadership and with his team, the pace of expansion and development of
new schools has greatly quickened in the recent years going up from just one school
and one institution (NTTI) till 1984 to as many as 3 Institutions, 12 schools with 3
more to come up in the near future and 6 Project Schools in collaboration with the
Indian Railways and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).
Bal Bharati Public Schools are comprehensive, co-educational English medium
schools. Hindi enjoys its pride of place as the National Language in its curriculum.

Each school is managed by a separate Managing Committee in accordance to the
rules as prescribed by the concerned State but will ultimately be responsible to the
Apex Body.
The schools built by the Society are set in congenial surroundings. They are housed
in modern attractive buildings equipped with all requisite facilities, well stocked
libraries, laboratories, computers, audio-visual equipment, facilities for creative arts,
indoor and outdoor games and swimming pools (wherever possible).
Bal Bharatis educational philosophy is inspired by the maxim r =r -r r +r -a
f a Let noble thoughts come to us from all sides. It provides comprehensive
education keeping in view the countrys rich heritage and cultural background and
opens opportunities for the development of different facets of the childs personality.
Besides academic excellence and intellectual development, the school endeavours
to help each child discover and develop ones innate talents and abilities. It seeks to
instil in the children proper habits, positive attitude and values such as truthfulness,
unselfishness, self-respect, self control, sense of duty, good manners, fair play,
team spirit, dignity of labour, punctuality, compassion, freedom of mind and a rational
and scientific approach.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Keeping in view the needs of the people of Dwarka, probably the fastest growing
area of Delhi, Child Education Society decided to start a unit of Bal Bharati Public
School here. The School started functioning in the year 1997 in the campus of Bal
Bharati Public School, Pitampura and was shifted to its present premises in Dwarka
in July 2001. The school has a strength of 2542 students on its roll at present.
THE SCHOOL COMPLEX
The school has a proactive
infrastructure for the holistic
development of each child.
The total area of the school campus
is 15,794 sq. mtrs. and the total area
of the playground is 9794.37 sq. mtrs.
The school building consists of three
blocks comprising spacious and airy
classrooms, library, audio-visual
classrooms, computer rooms, well
equipped laboratories and well
furnished rooms for creative activities
such as art, painting, music and
dance.
THE SCHOOL MANAGEMENT AND STAFF
The Managing Committee of the school is headed by Mr. K. K. Khullar as the
Chairman, Ms. Rekha Sharma as the Secretary/Manager and has a number of
prominent educationists and other luminaries as members. The Principal is supported
by a team of experienced and qualified teachers.

WINGS OF LEARNING
PRE-SCHOOL AND PRE-PRIMARY
The school follows the Montessori
method of teaching at this stage. The
pupils learn in an informal way with the
help of specially designed apparatus
under the supervision and guidance of
trained and experienced teachers.
Special attention is paid to facilitate the
physical, mental, emotional and social
growth of the child through a series of
well co-ordinated activities.
Bal Sabha activities provide conducive
learning ground to children and enhance their confidence.
Beautiful and artistically painted theme based classrooms provide a stimulating and
friendly learning atmosphere to the students. Magnetic boards make learning more
joyful for little anxious minds. Apart from this, a sensorial garden provides children a
holistic visual, olfactory, tactile and auditory experience.
PRIMARY
In the Primary Department, emphasis is given not only on acquisition of new
knowledge but also on concept formation and application of knowledge in practical
life situations. Stress is laid on 'learning by doing.' Children are given personal
attention.They are exposed to pictorial information books and audio-visual
programmes which excite their interest in learning.
Students are not unduly burdened with home work and are evaluated through their
day-to-day work and performance in studies and various curricular and co-curricular
activities.

MIDDLE AND SR. SECONDARY
To sustain the interest of students in learning, latest scientific and electronic methods
are practised in classroom teaching. Self-discipline of the body and mind is practised
through conscious and deliberate efforts. Continuous and comprehensive system
of evaluation is followed to grade the performance of pupils.
LABORATORIES
The school aims at developing the
spirit of enquiry and scientific
temper among students from an
early stage. In addition, the
customized computer-aided
learning, projects, models, charts,
powerpoint presentations and other
related educational aids make
teaching-learning process lively
and interactive. Young students
learn through experiments and
demonstrations in modern and well-
equipped Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer, Geography and Mathematics
laboratories.
SMARTCLASS
With its initiative to conducively
enrich the process of learning, the
school provides Smartclass
computer aided classrooms for
classes I VIII. Pedagogically
sound and visually rich curriculum
resources are hereby mapped and
customized to the needs of the
students. Smartclass technology
provides tools and content for
interactive self paced learning by students, as well as rich media presentations for
teacher led classroom learning.

HEALTH CENTRE
The Health Centre is managed by qualified medical professionals. The centre is
equipped with facilities to deal with day-to-day health problems of the students.
Regular medical check-ups are organised by the centre to ensure good health and
well being of students.
SCHOOL LIBRARY
The school has two well stocked libraries
with a good collection of over 19,000
books ranging from encyclopedias to
fiction and text books. The libraries are
enriched with a collection of C.D.'s used
by the students for reference work.
'Book Week', encourages learning
beyond text books. Thoughtfully graded
books are made accessible for students
in Senior and Junior Libraries.
INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION
The school has ventured into collaborative international projects with UK, Australia,
Japan, New Zealand. The Principal, staff members and other dignitaries have been
on mutual visits to chalk out the new education programmes and strategies which
could be effectively disseminated. These provide wonderful opportunities to
experience and collect first hand information about social, political, geographical
and cultural milieu in other parts of the globe to mutually improve upon existing
pedagogical techniques and curriculum.

cultivating an appreciation for fine arts
and sports. The school ensures a

Children are trained to shoulder
responsibilities, make decisions and help
in organising programmes. They are

creatively foster multiple talents in our

Competitions are organised for dramatics, elocution, quiz, recitation, debate, singing,

tapestry, the school has associated
with SPIC MACAY. The world
renowned organisation SPIC MACAY
facilitates an awareness of the deeper
and subtler values of Indian classical
arts, rituals, mythologies and
philosophy among our students by
conducting lecturedemonstrations of
various art forms by accomplished artists.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Work experience activities form an inseparable part of the school curriculum. Children
enthusiastically participate in activities like Best out of Waste, Origami, Fabric and
Glass Painting, Meal Planning and Clay Modelling.
SOCIAL WELFARE
To foster qualities of compassion, selfless service and charity, visits are organised

TOURS / EXCURSIONS
In addition to excursions during the summer vacation and the autumn/winter break,
educational tours and camps are organised, which, besides providing recreation,
inculcate qualities of leadership, self-reliance, discipline and a sense of responsibility.
NIE & PACE PROGRAMME
Leading national daily newspapers The Times of India and The Hindustan Times
have been introduced to encourage students to read newspapers critically and make
them aware of the social, economic and political events taking place in the country
and around the world. Various workshops are conducted to provide the students
different avenues for expression.
GAMES & SPORTS
'A healthy mind lies in a healthy body.' Depending on their age and stage of
development, the children are trained in various sports and games under the guidance
of trained Physical Education teachers. Sports help in developing personality of a
child and inculcating self discipline
amongst the students. They are
groomed to be better citizens and good
human beings. Specialized training is
given to the students everyday in the
morning hours for various indoor and
outdoor games/sports like carrom,
chess, badminton, table-tennis,
basketball, cricket, judo, skating, lawn
tennis and shotput. The school can
boast of numerous international and
national level achivements. Our
students stand tall with laurels of
global repute.

CAMPS
Summer Coaching Camps encompass activities like art & craft, communication
skills, dance, instrumental music, badminton, basketball, carrom, chess, cricket,
judo, skating, table-tennis and adventure sports such as commando net and river
rafting which improve life skills and confidence among children. Most of school
sytems are web enabled (fee, examination, teaching learning modules,
communication with parents, etc.).
VALUE EDUCATION, LIFE SKILLS AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH
In the present scenario, where knowledge is exploding and wisdom is imploding,
value education is of supreme importance. Thus,
inculcation of values is an integral part of our
education system. The school seeks to strike a
balance between academic inputs, discipline, co-
curricular activities and community welfare
activities.
FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Today, education aims at being globally accepted
and knowledge of a foreign language is always
considered as an asset. The school has a provision
for teaching French and German from class V onwards.
COMPUTER EDUCATION
Integration of technology into the school curriculum is the need of the hour as it
helps students to derive maximum advantage from the explosion of knowledge in
the current global scenario. Computer Science has been introduced from class I
onwards to make each child computer literate and efficient in the use of Information
Technology.
SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS
With a view to encourage introspection and to stress upon how an educator needs
to be a co-learner, a motivator, a facilitator and not a sole harbinger of wisdom and
knowledge, a number of seminars and workshops are conducted to keep the staff
and students updated on recent trends in education.

SHOULDERING RESPONSIBILITIES
PREFECTORIAL BOARD
A prefectorial board has been constituted to
groom future leaders who volunteer to shoulder
responsibilities. The Head Boy and the Head
Girl head a team of prefects who help in the
maintenance of school discipline and in
organising various school programmes and
activities.
THE HOUSE SYSTEM
The school is divided into six Houses-Equality, Amity, Freedom, Progress, Peace
and Unity. The main idea of the House system is to provide training in qualities of
leadership, co-operation, mutual understanding, self reliance, peer bonding and team
spirit.
PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
The P.T.A. Executive Body is actively involved in the progress of the school. Its
members work in close coordination with the school authorities and render invaluable
cooperation. They meet from time to time to render their unconditional support in
organising various school functions such as Annual Day, Winter Carnival, Sports
Day, Teachers' Day, Grandparents Day, etc.
The management, staff and the P.T.A. Executive Body work as a team to provide
number of avenues to children for their holistic development.
PARENT TEACHER MEETINGS
Parent Teacher Meetings are held regularly to update parents on the performance of
their wards and to strengthen the bond between the school and the guardians.
Catering to the convenience of parents, the school provides web enabled
communication about upcoming events, syllabus, examination etc. The unique SMS
system stands for instant and hassle-free communication between the school and
parents.

9-00 a.m. to 1-00 p.m.
PRIMARY ONWARDS
8-00 a.m. to 2-20 p.m.
The school works for five days a week for students.
TRANSPORT FACILITY :
(i) Limited transport facility is available on select areas in close proximity to
the school only.
(ii) All areas will not be covered by the school transport.
(iii) Bus facility will be provided subject to availability of buses and seats on
the given route.
(iv) Clear one month's notice is required in case of withdrawal from transport.
ADMISSION SCHEDULE
FREESHIPS
Freeships and scholarships are awarded on merit cum need basis. Seats are reserved
for the economically weaker section of the society.
EWS ADMISSIONS
25% of the seats are reserved for economically weaker section. . The parent has to
submit an income certificate issued by Sub-Divisional Magistrate of the area
concerned to this effect.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
Admission is open to Pre-School for children between 3 & 4 years as on 31 March
2013 (or as directed by competent authority).

VERIFICATION (FOR GENERAL CATEGORY)
1. Attested Photocopy of Birth Certificate of Child issued by Municipal Authority.
2. Attested Photocopy of Parent(s) Voters Identity Card / Ration Card / Passport
/ Electricity Bill / MTNL telephone bill /Water bill / House Tax Receipt etc.
3. Recent Coloured Passport size Photograph of the Child and Parents.
4. In case of Sibling applicants, the school Identity Card/last paid fee receipt of
sibling studying in the school/Photocopy of the last Report Card.
5. Affidavit from a notary certifying that the child is first born / first adopted /
first surviving.
6. Proof to validate child with special needs from a Govt. Hospital/Dispensary.
7. Proof of alumnus of Bal Bharati Public School, Dwarka only i.e. photocopy
of class X and XII /School Leaving Certificate of Parents.

4. Declaration of the age of the child by the parent or guardian.
B. Residence Proof: (Submit any one)
1. Ration card issued in the name of parents (mother/father having name of the
child).
2. Domicile certificate of child or of his/her parents.
3. Voter I-card of any of the parents.
4. Electricity bill/ MTNL telephone bill / Water bill.
5. Unique Identity Card of mother/father/child issued by Government of India.
6. Passport in the name of any of the parents or child.
C. Income Certificate: (Submit any one)
1. Income certificate issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.
2. BPL Ration Card (Yellow Coloured).
3. AAY Ration Card (Pink Coloured).
D. Proof of Disadvantaged Group: (Submit any one)
1. A Certificate issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar or
any other Competent Authority.
2. Caste Certificate issued by DC Office.
3. Medical Certificate from Govt. Hospital, in case of children with special needs/
disabilities.
4. A Certificate issued in accordance with instruction issued by the Department
of Women and Child Development, GNCT of Delhi, vide order dated 11.12.12
in case of Orphan Child.

EWS Application & Disadvantaged Group
1. Application form for applicants belonging to EWS category is available at the
school gate from January 1, 2013 to January 15, 2013 between 8.30 a.m. to
2.00 p.m. on all working days of the school.
2. 25% of the seats are reserved for Economically Weaker and Disadvantaged
section as per rules. The parent has to submit an attested copy of certificate
issued by a revenue officer not below the rank of Tehsildar or BPL Ration
Card (Yellow coloured) or AAY Ration Card (Pink coloured) as proof of
income of the area concerned to this effect.
3. Applicants under Disadvantaged Group need to produce a Certificate issued
by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar or any other Competent
Authority or Caste Certificate issued by DC Office or Medical Certificate from
Govt. Hospital, in case of Children with special needs/disabilities.
4. Admission shall first be offered to eligible students belonging to EWS and
Disadvantaged group residing within 1 km of the specific school.
5. In case the vacancies remain unfilled, students residing within 3 kms of the
school shall be admitted.
6. If still, there are vacanices, then the admission shall be offered to other students
residing within 6 kms of the institution.
NOTE : In case number of applications in any of the above mentioned categories
exceed number of seats available ,selection will be done by draw of lots.
FEES AND FUNDS (2013 -2014)
The fixation of the revised fee structure is under consideration and will be notified as
soon as it is finalized.
MODE OF PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEE
School fee is payable in quarterly instalments on production of a fee slip issued by
the School at the beginning of each quarter. The fee is payable in the first month of
the quarter latest by 20th of that month.

The first payment of fee, at the time of admission, is accepted only by Demand Draft
in favour of Bal Bharati Public School, Dwarka. Subsequent payment of fee to be
made through cheque or demand draft. Name of the student, Class, Section,
Admission Number and Mobile / Residence Telephone No. should be written on the
back of the cheque.
FEE SCHEDULE PAYMENT MONTH
1st Quarter (Apr to Jun) April
2nd Quarter (Jul to Sep) July
3rd Quarter (Oct to Dec) October
4th Quarter (Jan to Mar) January
FINE FOR LATE PAYMENT OF FEE :
Rs. 100/- for payment made after notified date till the 10th of the 2nd month of
the quarter.
Rs. 200/- for payment made between the 11th of the 2nd month and the 10th of
the 3rd month of the quarter. (both days inclusive)
Rs. 500/- for payment made between the 11th of the 3rd month of the quarter
and the last working day of the quarter.
The name of the student will be struck off the roll if fee is not paid by the end of
the quarter and re-admission fee will be charged for re-admitting the child into
the school.
Cheques returned by the bank for any reason will be treated as non-payment
and fresh payment is to be made by Bank Draft, together with relevant fine as
mentioned above plus Rs.100/- for cheque being returned.
Clear one month's notice (in writing) is required for the withdrawal of
child from school or else one month's fee has to be deposited.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
It is compulsory for all students to wear prescribed school uniform. All items of
summer and winter uniform are available at the uniform counter at regulated prices.
Parents are advised to purchase uniform from the school uniform counter in order to
ensure correctness of material, tailoring, cut and style.
