Sassy Summarizer Part 2 After we meet Wickham, Elizabeth strengthens her hate for Darcy believing Wickhams story. She complains to Jane about Darcys arrogance and how he treated Wickham, however Jane defends Darcy stating that they dont know the full story that they just met Wickham. Later there is a ball at Netherfield, where Elizabeth promised her first two dances to Mr. Collins, however she was expecting Wickham to show up because she had liked him, but to her surprise Wickham doesnt attend the ball and the cause is Darcys presence. Elizabeth is incredibly angered at Darcy because not only had she heard Wickhams story but also she danced with Darcy and which later on backfired on Darcy because she mentioned Wickham. As Elizabeth danced with Darcy, Mr. Collins showed up and earlier in the story we learned that Elizabeth promised the first two dances to Mr. Collins. Mr. Collins and Darcy interact for a while. During the dinner, with no surprise, Mrs. Bennet speaks about Jane and Bingley again with a loud voice were Darcy is able to hear her conversation and how Elizabeth fights with her mom for embarrassing the family. To the side we have Mr. Collins, whose sole purpose is to get married. Mr. Collins is a very proud and confident man; he is rich and well mannered. Mrs. Bennet sees him as a great match for her daughter Elizabeth. Mr. Collins gives a speech at the table assuring everyones image of himself as proud and confident, Elizabeth is disgusted and embarrassed by him. The Next day Mr. Collins proposes to Elizabeth in the same manner, very confident and his proposal was more a brag about himself than it was a declaration of love and liking for Elizabeth. Elizabeth rejected Mr. Collins, and Mrs. Bennet, again, was infuriated at her daughter that she could refuse such an opportunity. She tells Elizabeth that if she doesnt marry Mr. Collins she will never se her again. Mr. Bennet disagrees with his wife and is in full support of Elizabeth, something unexpected and surprising. However Mr. Bennet seems to be in disagreement of Mr. Collins because he would like to disagree with his wife more than in support for his daughter. Bingley, his sisters, and Darcy leave for London without Bingley letting Jane know of his departure. Bingley sister sends a letter saying that Bingley was returning to London to marry Darcys sister. It comes to a shock to Jane, Elizabeth, and her family, but most of all to Elizabeth. She was infuriated at Bingley and talks to Jane, who is devastated, about how Bingley embarrassed her and used her. A shocking news later arrives announcing Charlottes proposal to Mr. Collins. Everyone is shocked especially Elizabeth and Mrs. Bennet who is infuriated because her daughter let a husband go just like that with Mr. Collins. Another letter arrives from Bingleys sister appraising Darcys sisters beauty and loveliness. Jane is Devastated and the Gardiners visit the Bennets when they learn about Janes unhappiness. Jane is invited to visit London with the Gardiners, thinking that it would be good for her and she thinks that she might see Mr. Bingley. However the Bingley sisters are cold to her and dont like Jane anymore because Darcys sister

is a much better fit for Bingley. Before Jane leaves with the Gardiners to London, Mrs. Gardiner warns Elizabeth about Wickham and how he would be an embarrassment to the family if she ended up falling in love with him. She promises shell do her best not to fall for him. Later from London Mrs. Gardiner writes to Jane to ask about Wickham and their relationship together. Elizabeth responds by saying that his attention has already been drawn to another woman, Mrs. King, who is filthy rich. Elizabeth is devastated because she truly believed that Wickham was different that he wouldnt marry for a fortune that he was the falling in love type of guy. Elizabeth is surrounded by people that care about social status and money before true feelings like love.
