ST. LUKE
A Day of Reflection for Women: Come and Bloom With Us! (Narthex) Praying with Fantastic Bibilical Women Presenter: Carol Sullivan Sponsored by St. Luke Holy Mary Society Intergenerational Faith Formation (Gym) This intergenerational session is a wonderful opportunity for all to gather in a casual environment and enjoy a morning blend of coffee, conversation and Catholic formation. Together we will explore the significance of Holy Week in the life of Jesus, in our lives, and in our world today. All ages are welcome! No registration necessary. We would love to have you join us!
Immigration Film Night (Sippel Hall) Dying to Live: A Migrants Story Labyrinth (Sippel Hall) The labyrinth is an ancient spiritual tool used for quiet reflection. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth consists of a single path to the center. The labyrinth will be available during Lent for private prayer and reflection on Thursday evenings and is appropriate for Grades 4 through Adult. Come walk and pray with us! Adult Formation (Sippel Hall) The Way in Our Midst A panel of Seton parishioners will give tips on following the WAY of Jesus in everyday life. Lent 4 Kids: Names of Jesus (Sippel Hall) Come with your fiends and explore some of the many names of Jesus that are found in the Bible . . . just for kids (Grades K4-6th)! One hour session - RSVP appreciated for each session to Ann Hepp: AnnH@mystelizabeth.com Teens: StepItUp4Lent! (Reflection Room) Come to Step It Up and stay focused to fully experience Lent. Discover the Way. All teens (Grades 7-12) and your friends are welcome! Email Mickey Holtz: MickeyH@mystelizabeth.com, each week, if you plan to attend.
Customarily, fasting required that a person take only one meal a day, but current Church discipline permits one to take a main meal and two lesser meals which together do not equal the main meal. All persons who have reached their 14th birthday are bound by the law of abstinence. All adults are bound by the law of fast from their 18th to their 60th year. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast as well as days of abstinence from meat and meat products. The other Fridays of Lent remain days of abstinence from meat and meat products. The Fridays of the year outside Lent remain days of penance, but the traditional abstinence from meat may be substituted with some other practice of voluntary self-denial or personal penance. This may be physical denial, self-restraint or acts of religion, charity or Christian witness.
