Dear Friend, Its been an incredibly busy time, but Ive had the honor of meeting so many people throughout Michigan as we fight to make government better, faster and smarter. So proud of my team. Here are a few things to watch:

SOS SPOTLIGHT

Deadline to Register to vote in May elections is April 7


Michigan residents have until Monday, April 7 to register to vote in the May 6 election. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. To register, applicants must be at least age 18, a U.S. citizen and resident of the community in which they wish to register. For more information or to see a sample ballot, visit the Michigan Voter Information Center.

We will have an important announcement for veterans on April 23. Stay tuned... We just launched a new pilot program that will allow local candidates to report their campaign contributions and expenditures electronically. Its a big move toward more transparency at the local level.

Ducks Unlimited members celebrating our new Ducks Unlimited plate, which will be available this summer.

Our new system to shorten lines, and let you run errands while you wait for your turn, is Great hospitality from the Michigan Credit Union League. getting great feedback. Its being phased into our 10 busiest branches. (See Detroit News link on page 2.) Im hoping to get back on the kayak to promote our online services at ExpressSOS.com. Whats a few ice floes among friends?

April is National Donate Life Month


Ruth, along with organ donation leaders, will kick off Donate Life Month on Wednesday, April 2 at Wayne State University. More than 1.4 million more people have been added to the states Organ Donor Registry in the last three years. To sign up, visit www.ExpressSOS.com.

I really applaud Ruth Johnson for allowing us to participate in this program because we have always wanted this and knew it was out there, Macomb County Clerk Carmella Sabaugh said, adding the county opted to participate.
