1.

GENERAL

1.1.

Scope This specification defines the minimum requirements and the inspection plan for the supply of medium and high power Variable Speed Electric Drives. For any other additional information not covered by this specification see the applicable Normative References and Publications as well as the project technical documentation, in particular: Data Sheet Inspection Data Sheet (I.D.S.) Required Documentation Data Sheet. The technicaI requirements of this Functional Specification are based upon considerations of performances and functionality, therefore the instructions contained in this document are not meant to be discriminatory. Any alternative suggestions will be considered, provided that they comply with the requirements of this document from both a functional and a performance point of view.

1.2.

Normative References The Normative References and the Publications that define the entirety of the variable speed electric drives are listed below. When applicable, references will be made to the European Normative References EN and to the CENELEC Harmonisation Documents or, in their absence, to the CEI/CEI UNEL Normative References and the IEC Publications. In any case, the plants shall comply with the requirements of the Legislation and Regulation issued by Local Authorities and Organisations under whose jurisdiction the plants shall be installed.

2.

FUNCTIONAL NORMATIVE REQUIREMENTS

2.1.

Definitions As to definitions and terminology reference shall be made to Normative References listed in paragraph 1.2 and to the Functional Specifications indicated in the Data Sheet. In addition, the following shall be defined here:

2.1.1.

Convertor A power converting operational unit, including the converting equipment itself, transformers (if any), reactors, switches, other protection and sectioning elements, auxiliaries and cooling units (if any).

2.1.2.

Conversion Unit (or Set) It is a set of converting elements such as diodes, thyristors, transistors, electrically and mechanically combined forced-shutdown thyristors (GTO), complete with connections and accessory devices including cooling devices which are part of its own mechanical structure but without sectioning devices and transformers.

2.1.3.

Variable speed electric drive or variable speed drive, or drive It is a system consisting of one or more convertors and related motors for the variable speed control of a single driver. This Functional Specification deals with the following types of drives: Natural switch-over variable frequency drives. Forced switch-over variable frequency drives. D.C. drives. Asynchronous motor and hyposynchronous cascade drives.

2.1.4.

High speed drive It is an electric drive (with variable frequency) whose normal operational speeds are included between the motor 1st and 2nd critical (flexional) speed.

2.1.5.

Prototype equipment (referring to the motor and/or convertor and/or the entire drive system) It is a piece of equipment which: has successfully passed the type test. has rated data, construction characteristics and performance equal to those of the supplied equipment, with permissible tolerance. is part of the supply, or is not part of it but has been built utilizing the same construction methods used for the supplied equipment.

2.1.6.

Similar equipment (referring to the motor and/or convertor and/or the entire drive system) It is a piece of equipment which has rated data, construction characteristics and performance only partially different from those of all other equipment provided with a prototype.

2.2.

Symbols and abbreviations As to symbols and abbreviations reference shall be made to the Normative References listed in paragraph 1.2.

2.3.

Operating environment The entirety of the drives shall be designed and built according to the environmental conditions of the installation site specified in the Data Sheet. When H2S is detected in the atmosphere, unless otherwise specified, the following concentrations shall be considered: 0,10 ppm of H2S continuously. 5 ppm of H2S and 2 ppm of SO2 occasionally and for short periods. The Supplier shall adopt suitable protective measures and prove their validity with test certificates for the components.

2.4. 2.4.1. 2.4.1.1.

Functional requirements Functional characteristics Electrical sizing The entirety of the drives, each single piece of equipment and the components shall be sized in compliance with the relevant Normative References and assuming that: normal operating conditions be those specified in the Data Sheet, with the ambient temperature at its max. each single piece of equipment and component is insulated in relation to the rated voltages and is also suitable for any foreseen short-duration current.

2.4.1.2.

Possibility of extension The switchboards and/or boxes which are part of the drive shalI be designed so as to be upgradable in power only if the convertor, with suitable limited modifications, is able to feed a bigger motor than the one supplied.

2.4.1.3.

Type of drive If not specified in the Data Sheet, the type of drive shall be established by the Supplier on the basis of functional and operational needs foreseen and of the following indications: for environments with explosion or fire hazard, and for highly aggressive or dusty environments, the drives shall be of A.C. type with cage asynchronous motors or brushless synchronous motors.

the hyposynchronous cascade drives shall be used only for speed variation fields not larger than 65 100%. the drive shall not be a prototype; that is Supplier similar drives shall appear to have been in service for at least two years. devices cutting out the convertor shall be provided only if required in the Data Sheet and if technically justified. 2.4.1.4. Conditions of power supply and rated performances Unless otherwise specified in the Data Sheet, the drives shall be able to provide the required rated performances in terms of torque and number of revolutions in any operating conditions foreseen with the following conditions of power supply: a) permanent variations: Voltage +/- 5% Frequency +/- 5% Voltage and frequency combined +/- 5%.

b) temporary or occasional variations with a duration not longer than 20 s few times per day: Voltage +/- 10% Frequency +/- 7% Voltage and frequency combined +/- 12%. The speed variation field, unless otherwise specified in the Data Sheet, is assumed between 1 and 10. 2.4.1.5. Particular performances Even if not specifically indicated in the Data Sheet, the drives shall be able to operate under the following conditions without any heating or damages that might endanger their life: in case of sudden voltage losses or excessive drops for 0.2 - 3 s due to network short circuits and/or automatic network switch-overs, the drives shall be able to reaccelerate and start again operations as before the hit, without causing failures or ill-timed interventions from fuses or protections. the permissible time of an excessive voltage drop or loss shall be set between 0.2 3 s. If the disturbance time lasts longer than the set time, the drive shall be shutdown and started again only by the operator. when foreseen for continuous service, the drives shall bear a 50% current (torque) overload for 60 seconds, every 15 minutes. for machines with a stall torque constant throughout the whole speed-variation range (reciprocating machines or machines for the transport of solids), the start torque shall be capable of counterbalancing a stall torque equal to 200% of the rated torque, the latter being the torque corresponding to the drive rated power at its max. speed. for machines with a quadratic stall torque (centrifugal, rotary machines) the start torque shall be considered not inferior than 25% of the stall torque.

2.4.1.6.

Electrical protections All electrical protections shall be defined by the Supplier who shall guarantee their completeness and functionality. In any case, at least the following protections shall be provided: protection against conversion units overloads and internal faults. protection against convertor overloads mainly by means of thermal devices. protection against motor overloads by means of thermometric indicators installed in the motor windings. protection against field circuit overloads for D.C. motors. protection against internal short circuits in the convertor. protection against short circuits outside the convertor, motor side. protection against excessive reversed sequence suitable to operate also in case of wrong cyclical sense of the phases or lack of one phase. protection against indirect contacts through earthing, as a rule. protection against minimum network voltage that shall prevent the uncontrolled start of the drive after a loss or excessive drop in the network voltage.

2.4.1.7.

Command, control and supervision system The command, control, regulation and supervision system of both the conversion units and the peripheral equipment (motor, transformer etc.) shall be of conventional or microprocessor type in accordance with the Supplier standard. In case of use of microprocessors, the control and regulation functions shall be separate from the protection and alarm ones in order to guarantee that the functional integrity be maintained in case either one fails. The drives shall be preset for command, control and supervision by a control unit installed nearby the motor included in the supply, and by a centralised control switchboard. The minimum required functions shall be specified in the Data Sheet. The Supplier shall add to them if he deems it proper or necessary. A single control and self-inspection of the thyristors or GTOs control pulses shall be carried out for each converting element. Separate analogue and digital signals for each function shall be provided for both local and remote commands and controls. Serial transmissions shall not be allowed. Each drive shall be provided with a supervision and alarm unit as well as one monitoring significant parameters, for checking on the correct operation and on the pre-alarm situations. The data acquisition unit can be individual or common to several drives according to Supplier standards or to the requirements of the Data Sheet. If the data acquisition unit is a remote one, the transmission shall be of serial type. The convertor switchboards shall be provided with alarm signals for any defects or shutdowns of the protection and supervision devices, including the ones related to the motors.

The alarms with automatic resetting facilities shall be provided with a memory device for resetting the system manually (flag relay or ISA-M alarm unit). When required in the Data Sheet, the entire control system shall be provided with a "hot stand-by" backup unit. In case of fault of the control unit the automatic switchover to the stand-by unit shall be provided. The switch-over time shall be less than 40 ms and it shall take place without any troubles or defects during operation. The drive shall operate regularly also in case of simultaneous fault of a control unit and of the switch-over system. The redundancy of the two control systems shall be carried out so as to make them independent starting from the instrumentation on the machine so as to avoid any common cause of fault and to allow maintenance operations, search for faults, replacement of all the components of a system (including sensors on the machine) while the drive is in operation. The fault or defect of a sensor or an instrument on the machine for which redundancy is foreseen, shall not cause ill-timed interventions by protections and/or shutdown devices. When required, redundancy shall be applicable at least to the following functional circuits: relevant microprocessors inside the control and protection system. convertors control system. conversion units cooling circuits and related instrumentation. temperature control circuit for cooling air, oil and white metal in bearings as well as motor windings (alarm and shutdown). temperature control circuit for transformers and levelling reactors (alarm and shutdown). control circuit for the motor excitation system (when foreseen). pressurization circuits for EX-p machines or equipment and related instrumentation (when foreseen). Unless otherwise specified, individual instruments or sensors shall be provided only for the following circuits: transformers Buchholz relays. alarm devices for water loss on the motors exchangers. alarms for secondary cooling fluid low flow rate (convertor, motor, transformer). However, if made of microprocessors, the control circuits to which these instruments or detectors are connected shall be redundant. 2.4.1.8. Power factor correction and harmonic filtering Unless otherwise specified, power factor correction units shall be provided in order to maintain the power factor within the values shown in the Data Sheet. In the absence of further indications, the following values shall be applied: 0.92 delay at rated load. 0.9 delay for all other operating conditions. In no case, the power factor network side shall be in advance. When power factor correction units are required, the filtering of harmonics shall also e foreseen. The filters shall also be designed to compensate the power factor.

The harmonics filter shall be provided anyhow when the connection of the drives supplied causes an additional distortion of 1% in minimum short circuit conditions assuming that the network total distortion is 1.3% and is generated by the following harmonics: 5th and 7th = 0.7%; 11th - 13th = 0.6%. If the known network total distortion is less than 1.3% the additional distortion introduced by the drives can be higher than l1% but, anyway, the total distortion when drives are in network shall not exceed 2.3%. Filters shall be provided for: 5th and 7th harmonic for six-phase convertors 5th - 7th - 11th - 13th harmonic for twelve-phase convertors. When the filtration of harmonics is required, the Supplier shall define the resonance frequency (parallel) of the power supply network under all possible operating conditions foreseen, on the basis of the data indicated in the Data Sheet. The welltimed request from the Company of all the necessary information that might be missing shall be responsibility of the Supplier. 2.4.2. 2.4.2.1. Construction characteristics General characteristics of D.C. drives. a) b) Speed variation shall be obtained through the variation of the armour voltage. The drives foreseen for operating both directions shall be carried out by means of units connected in anti-parallel. Unidirectional conversion units with polarity reversal in the field or armature circuit shall be subject to approval first. Mechanic parallel motor drives shall be carried out by means of separate feeders for each motor. Each feeder shall be provided with a current-regulating ring and a single speed-regulating ring. Anyway, the drives shall be provided with: armour current limiting device. speed control by means of tachometric reaction. controlled acceleration/deceleration device which can also be of current limiting type.

Drives which operate as a brake (operation also in quadrant II and IV) shall always be equipped with an extra-quick circuit breaker on D.C. side. The re-acceleration, in any, after a short loss of voltage shall be agreed upon with the Supplier. 2.4.2.2. Natural switch-over variable frequency drives Unless otherwise specified in the Data Sheet, the motor shall be directly supplied by the convertor with a voltage fixed by the Supplier to obtain the optimum minimum number of thyristors for each branch. As for twelve-phase drives, two six-phase conversion units, linked in series, shall be provided as well as a double-winding motor. A by-pass unit, if any, as well as a reduced power gear shall be agreed upon from time to time. The protection against short voltage losses shall prevent the thyristors from starting at the loss of tension. When conditions get back to normal, the system shall reaccelerate and re-synchronise the drive.

The permissible disturbance time shall be set within 0.2 - 3 s. If the disturbance lasts longer than the set time allowed, the drive shall be shutdown and the re-start shall require the operators intervention. 2.4.2.3. Forced switch-over variable frequency drives The inverter shall be of PWM (Pulse With Modulation) type, equipped with thyristors with controlled shutdown (GTO). The use of forced current and/or natural shutdown convertors shall be subject to approval by the Company. The control system against short voltage losses shall be like the one for natural switch-over drives described in paragraph 2.4.2.2. 2.4.2.4. Asynchronous motor drives with hyposynchronous cascade rings These drives shall be able to operate under the following two conditions: variable speed running with regulation unit on. fixed speed running with rotor in short circuit. A suitable switch shall allow to select the running condition wanted when the drive is off. Switching from running in short circuit to speed regulating running, and viceversa, shall be possible even when the machine is in operation. Switching from a rheostat start phase to speed regulating phases shall happen automatically when the minimum regulation speed foreseen is reached. Brush lifting is normally not required during full-rhythm operation with rotor in short circuit. The brush contactor or short circuit breaker shall be integrated with the starting rheostat as much as possible. The conversion unit shall be equipped with an extra quick circuit breaker on the D.C. circuit and protection against manoeuvre voltages on the convertor A.C. circuit, rotor side, for protection against short losses of voltage. In case of loss of voltage the control system shall operate as follows: D.C. extra quick circuit breaker cut-off. connection of starting rheostat A.C. circuit breaker, rotor side, cut-off. When the network tension comes back: motor re-acceleration (if required) up to the minimum regulation speed. D.C. extra quick circuit breaker re-make re-connection of the convertor, rheostat cut-off and speed re-set as before the break. The permissible tension-loss time shall be set within 0.2 - 3 s. If the network tension is not reset within the break time allowed, the drive shall be shutdown and it shall be able to be restarted only by operators intervention. 2.4.2.5. Transformers The transformers included in the drives shall comply with the relevant Functional Specification indicated in the Data Sheet, whenever applicable.

They shall be of the naturally cooled oil dipping type (ONAN), with conservator and suitable for outdoor installation. Other types of cooling systems shall be subject to approval by the Company. Oil and water forced circulation transformers shall be provided with two circulation pumps (one in stand by for each operation). 2.4.2.6. Conversion units Conversion units shall be sized so as to be able to operate at the rated load with a conversion element (diode, thyristor, GTO) out of order. Diodes and thyristors shall be made of silicium, disk type if possible. The virtual connection temperature of diodes and thyristors with rated load drive (including the start-up effect or permissible overloads) shall not exceed 125C, even when the components used allow higher temperatures. The conversion elements shall be individually protected with fuses. The fuses can be left out only with the Companys approval and if technically and economically justified by the Supplier. The fuses shall be equipped with a mechanical indicator for intervention in case of alarm and/or shutdown of the drive. 2.4.2.7. Cooling system Whenever possible the cooling system shall be with natural air or forced air in open cycle. Air in closed cycle or deionized water in closed cycle can be used for high powers and/or particular environmental conditions. Water, whose characteristics shall be indicated in the Data Sheet, shall be used as secondary fluid. The use of forced air as secondary fluid is subject to approval by the Company and it shall be technically and economically justified by the Supplier. In case of forced cooling system, two or more cooling units shall be provided, one running and one stand by, each of them comprising: single fan for open cycle systems single fan and air-water or air-air exchanger for closed cycle systems water-water exchanger, deionized water circulation pump for closed cycle water systems auxiliaries and accessories necessary for operation Sea water or industrial water exchangers shall be installed outside the conversion room. Secondary cooling water shall be at least 100 Pa lower than deionized water in order to avoid the contamination of the latter in case the exchanger breaks. 2.4.2.8. Levelling reactors They can be in air or in oil according to the Supplier standard. In-air reactors shall be preferable. They shall comply with the relevant Functional Specification quoted in the Data Sheet, whenever applicable. The reactor terminals to be installed outside the switchboards shall be provided with boxes functionally identical to those foreseen for the transformer terminals.

2.4.2.9.

Motors Motors shall comply with the relevant Functional Specification indicated in the Data Sheet. They shall be suitably downgraded to bear overheatings due to the harmonics present in supplied current, in particular for the motors to be installed in areas with explosion and fire hazard. High speed motors can be synchronous or asynchronous. Synchronous motors shall have a solid rotor with smooth poles, made of forged steel. Asynchronous motors shall have a rolled-type rotor with a copper cage for medium speeds (3000-4000 r. p. m.) and solid rotor for higher speeds. D.C. motors with independent excitation shall be provided with winding for stabilisation. The independent excitation voltage shall be preferably 110 V D.C., or lower and, anyway, not higher than 220 V D.C. The manifold shall be built so as to avoid the accumulation of carbon dust on the optical spots, inaccessible during routine maintenance. The brush holder arc shall be able to swing from the neutral position in order to allow the optimum positioning of the brushes for both directions of rotation.

2.4.2.10.

Power factor correction and harmonic filtering systems The capacitor rated voltage shall be equal to or higher than the max. operation voltage plus the increase in voltage caused by the connection of the capacitors evaluated under minimum short circuit conditions. Also the harmonic components shall be calculated on the basis of the minimum short circuit level specified for the power supply network. Capacitors up to 660 V shall be of self-regenerating metalized dielectric type; those of 660 V and above shall be of mixed or paper dielectric type. Capacitors shall be provided with protection against internal faults with overpressure or internal fuse breaker. Reactors shall be in air with electrolytic copper windings. The rated voltage shall be equal to or higher those of the related capacitors. The filters of each harmonic shall have a double-star connection, except for filters supplied together with the transformer, without breaking elements in between for which the single-star connection is allowed. Parallel resonance phenomena and other capacitive units, if any, present in the power supply network shall be taken into account for the sizing of the filters. The power supply for the filters can be branched from the transformation unit A.T. terminals or from a suitable auxiliary winding of the same unit. system shall be provided including the transformer, the related power supply line and the filters. The filters shall also be provided with protection against voltage or current unbalance installed in the star centre. For single-star filters, the protection shall be connected in between two separate but equally rated filters. The filtering systems shall be provided with protection against excess voltage which can be common to that of the drive in case the filters do not have automatic break devices. 2.4.2.11. Switchboards All the equipment forming a drive, except for transformers and rheostats (if any), shall be installed in closed switchboards. Also the levelling reactors and LC filtering and power factor correction units shall be normally installed in closed switchboards, unless otherwise specified. Switchboards for voltages higher than 1000 V A.C. and 1500 V D.C. shall of metal enclosed type. Switchboards for voltages up to 1000 V A.C. and 1500 V D.C. (L.V. switchboards) shall be of closed type with separate sections provided with faceplates. Whenever possible, BT switchboards shall be interfaced to H.V. switchboards. Cable connections shall be provided from underneath for both M.V. and L.V. switchboards. The switchboards and related equipment shall comply with the relevant Functional Specifications indicated in the Data Sheet. 2.4.2.12. Auxiliary circuits power supply The power supply systems for auxiliary services and circuits of the entire drive shall be included in the supply and shall be provided with suitable sectioning and protection devices for each service. Safety services and circuits shall be fed by D.C. or A.C. continuity units. When two separate power supply systems (one stand by) are provided for A.C. services, the system shall include an automatic transfer circuit between the two systems. Auxiliary voltages to the switchboard terminals shall be made available by the Company or shall be branched by the switchboards themselves through suitable transformation. Should the safety power supply not be available, the supply shall include the necessary D.C. and/or A.C. continuity units. 2.4.2.13. Auxiliary equipment Auxiliary equipment shall be defined by the Supplier and shall be suitable for the operation frequency and voltage as well as the short circuit levels shown in the Data Sheet or in the specific project on the drive. Push buttons, lamps and measure instruments shall comply with the requirements of the switchboard Functional Specifications. The command, control and regulation units, composed of low power components, shall be built on normalised removable modular elements of card type. Auxiliary motors (for pumps and cooling fans) shall be of three-phase asynchronous type totally closed and self-ventilated. Motors with lower power than 0.2 kW can also be single-phase ones.

2.4.2.14.

Conductors and electrical cabling As for cables, conductors and electrical cabling the requirements of the Functional Specifications on switchboards indicated in the Data Sheet shall be applicable.

2.4.2.15.

Equipment nameplates and tags In addition to the accident-prevention plates defined by the Supplier, the nameplates and tags shown below shall also be provided. The plates shall be made of plastic or stainless metal material with engraved inscriptions. N.B. In addition to what required in the following paragraphs, the nameplates shall show all the data required by Normative References and any other information deemed useful, at the Suppliers discretion. a) Supplier rules and construction type Plates with the Suppliers name and the construction type shall be provided at least for the convertor switchboard and the motor. Drive nameplate Plates with the Companys name for the drive shall be provided on the convertor switchboard, on the motor and on the local control unit. Nameplates for single pieces of equipment Single pieces of equipment and components shall be marked in accordance with the project documentation, with similar tags to the above mentioned ones or with adhesives.

Such tools shall be in such a number and of such a type to allow the complete installation and maintenance of the single pieces of equipment and of the auxiliaries.

2.4.2.18.

Protective treatments a) Painting Painting and the relevant protective treatments will be done in accordance with the prescriptions contained in the Data Sheet. b) Tropicalisation When required in the Data Sheet, equipment and materials will be subjected to tropicalisation treatments in accordance with the relevant Reference Specification.

2.4.3.

Packing for transport Packing for transport shall be defined by the Supplier according to the modalities required by the Company. When necessary the equipment shall be disassembled into units easy to be transported and in such a way that their re-assembly be as simple and quick as possible. Machines and equipment shall be fixed and locked in place so as to endure vibrations and impacts during transportation (by road, railway, sea) and the necessary handling when lifted for loading, unloading and installation. Particular attention shall be paid to the following accelerations: axial, critical during transport by railway transversal, critical during transport by road vertical, critical during transport by sea.

2.5. 2.5.1.

Boundaries, limits and exclusions Limits and exclusions Particular limits and exclusions, if any, shall be indicated in the Data Sheet.

2.6. 2.6.1.

Ergonomics Accessibility Access to the components during the assembly, maintenance, manoeuvre and operation activities shall comply with the requirements of Normative Reference EN 60439-1 and other relevant normative references.

2.7. 2.7.1.

Safety General rules The Supplier shall guarantee that the drives, subject of this Functional Specification, will have a workmanlike manufacture in order to comply with the safety requirements contained in the relevant Normative References.

2.7.2.

Protection against direct contacts Electric circuits active parts shall be placed and protected according to the requirements of Normative Reference EN 60439-1, so as to allow trained and authorised staff to carry out the following operations, with no danger of direct contact with the equipment voltage: visual check of manoeuvre equipment; regulation and reset of relays and breakers, inspection of signalling devices and instruments; replacement of fuses, lamps etc.; measurement of voltage, current, power and frequency as well as localisation of faults carried out with proper and suitably insulated instruments; connection of incoming cables; removal for maintenance of components from each disconnected circuit.

2.7.3.

Protection against indirect contacts In accordance with the requirements of Normative Reference EN 60439-1 and Recommendations IEC 364-4-41, protection against indirect contacts can be carried out by means of: protection circuit; measures which do not make use of protection circuits. Apart from exceptional cases indicated in the Data Sheet, the adopted protection shall be carried out using a protection circuit to be connected to the earthing system, in relation to the neutral system specified in the Data Sheet and in compliance with the Harmonisation Document CENELEC HD 528 S1 (IEC 364), whenever applicable.

2.7.4.

Fire resistance Materials shall have such characteristics that, when subjected to fire or heating, they shall not catch fire, burn, keep the combustion on, and release inflammable fumes. For plastic materials in particular, requirements of self-extinction shall be guaranteed in accordance with one of the following test methods: ANSI UL 94, Class V IEC 707, Class FV IEC 695 The Manufacturer of the switchboards shall therefore state if he has test certificates for the materials reaction to fire issued by an official laboratory.

2.7.5.

Protection against contacts with rotating parts Motor vents, when provided, shall have a protection degree not lower than IP2X on the suction side, and IP1X on the cooling air outlet side. The couplings shall have a protection degree IP2X.

2.8.

Requirements for Quality Management and Assurance Any additional requirements of Quality Management and/or Quality Assurance are contained in the relevant management specification enclosed in the request for bid.

2.9.

Additional Requirements for Review When required, they will be indicated in the Inspection Data Sheet (I.D.S.) and are subdivided in: Type test; Acceptance test (individual); Special test.

2.9.1.

Type Test The purpose of the type test is to verify that a specific type of drive is in compliance with the relevant Normative References and the original design. The type test shall be carried out checking and testing both serial and non-serial equipment separately. Its execution shall be entire responsibility of the Supplier.

2.9.2.

Acceptance Test (individual) The purpose of the acceptance test is to verify that a single drive meets the Companys requirements and to detect any defects in the materials and the construction. The acceptance test (individual) shall be responsibility of the Supplier and it shall be carried out after the assembly for all the drives supplied, making the checks and tests specified in the applicable Normative References. Such checks and tests shall be carried out separately for serial and non-serial equipment.

2.9.3.

Special Test It consists of all the tests and inspections not included in the type and acceptance tests, that the Company might require from time to time. The list of tests and inspections and any execution criteria shall be indicated in the Inspection Data Sheet ( I.D.S. ).

2.10.

Documentation The Supplier will deliver to the Company all the documents indicated in the Requested Document Data Sheet (R.D.D.S.), in accordance with the agreed terms and schedule. The technical documentation will be written in the official language indicated in the Data Sheet and using the symbols indicated in the CENELEC, CEI Rules and in IEC Publications.

2.10.1.

Bid Documentation The Supplier will include in his bid all the information and documentation required in the Data Sheet (R.D.D.S.).

2.10.2.

Documents Subjected to Approval The approval of the documentation by the Company, if necessary, will refer to the formal verification of the parameters indicated in the design's documents only and to the interfaces to the external equipment.

2.10.3.

Documentation used by the Company for the system design The Supplier will deliver to the Company all the documentation necessary to the execution of the system design and to the installation of the supplied drives.

2.10.4.

Test Documents The Supplier will deliver to the Company, within the schedule and in the way indicated in the Data Sheet, all the certificates relating to the type, acceptance and special tests.

2.10.5.

Final Technical Documentation The final technical documentation, with the only exception of the Supplier and Subsuppliers catalogues and publications will include the following references: name of the Supplier; name of the Company; identification tag, as indicated by the Company; title of the document; details of the Company's orders.

The description and drawings can be contained in catalogues and documents of the Supplier, as long as they satisfy the following conditions: they contain all data and information required in their final form they are relevant to the type supplied and the materials included in the supply are clearly identified amongst those in the document. The documentation subject to approval will be integral part of the final documentation approved by the Company.
