Web Page

Description: Web page to show off a creative logo design. Date: 03/15/2014 Course/Instructor: Communications 130 sec 03 Brother Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Dreamweaver and Illistrator. Objectives: Create a web site centered around a logo. Learn the basics of html and css. Process: After I created my HTML and was happy with my content I attached my pre-made CSS which I changed around quiet a bit. I added the picture of my logo and worked with the colors and incorporating it into my website. I decided on making the border thicker and changing it to the blue from my logo and making the inside white with black text. Instead of having just a black background I decided to use a texture. After I found the right texture I went into Photoshop and changed the colors to fit my logo better.

Brochure
Description: Brochure with circular design. Date: 04/01/2014 Course/Instructor: Communications 130 sec 03 Brother Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Illistrator, Photoshop, and InDesign Objectives: Create a interesting Brochure that will be eye catching and dractically different to showcase skills with InDesign and Illustrator. Process: I decided that I wanted to focus my design on a hobbit door because that is where the adventure begins. I wanted to print it on wood because it needed a texture and that way I could add a hinge and latch for a realistic feel. I set up everythin in InDesign and did all the work for the photos in photoshop. I wanted everything to have a circular feel to keep the theme going.

Letterhead
Description: Creative and professional letterhead with oringinal logo. Date: 03/01/2014 Course/Instructor: Communications 130 sec 03 Brother Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Illistrator and InDesign Objectives: Create intriguing letterhead to have a complete professional look. Process: I knew that the logo would be the most important part for the letterhead so I proceeded to create a watermark to span across most of the letterhead. I wanted to keep it simple so I repeated the colors in the top and bottom with simple lines and put all the business information at the top.

Business Card
Description: Unique Business card design with original logo. Date: 03/01/2014 Course/Instructor: Communications 130 sec 03 Brother Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Illistrator and InDesign Objectives: Create an original business card to understand the layout and elements that are best for a small design. Learn about watermarks and how to implement them into designs and simplifying messages. Process: I started out with the logo, it is for a company called love this video so I wanted the business card to look like a web video. On the front I wanted a solid color and the focus to be on the logo. On the back is the video with all the information. I used simple shapes with different opacities to create the look of a video and then used my logo as a water mark in the back to set off the body copy in the center. It is a simple design but familiar.

logos
Description: Three original logos for a company. Date: 02/22/2014 Course/Instructor: Communications 130 sec 03 Brother Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Illistrator Objectives: Learn how to effectively use tools in Illustrator like the pen tool. To understand the design of a logo and the different types. Process: I started with multiple sketches and took the concepts I liked best and started to design them in Illustrator. I created many of the shapes with the pen tool and used the pathfinder pallet to create and divide shapes. The pen tool was very useful in trying to create my own font. I was able to use it to create an old computer font to fit into the logo. I worked with the anchor point tool to create the candy bar logo and different combinations of shapes to get the overall look.

Event Ad
Description: Creative advertisement for a special event. Date: 02/01/2014 Course/Instructor: Communications 130 sec 03 Brother Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Microsoft word and scanners. Objectives: Learn how to use a scanner with a high resolution image and to learn the skills to design in Microsoft Word. Process: After finding a suitable image to scan I worked with the color scheme wanting to keep the flow and warmth of the colors from the image. The image became my white space and I wanted it to be the most prominent element to draw in the audience. I kept the information minimal and used a QR code for more information with less space. The sand creates the flow in the ad and the image is attention grabbing.

Flier
Description: Informational black and white flier. Date: 01/25/2014 Course/Instructor: Communications 130 sec 03 Brother Kerr Program(s)/Tools: InDesign Objectives: Design a creative flier that will speak clearly to the audience and communicate an effective message. Learn skills needed to work in InDesign. Process: After many sketches I took the design I liked best and started to create it on InDesign. I wanted the feel of the flier to be professional but fun to get the College graduates to come. I wanted to emphasize information like the date, time, and place and try to make the information stand out and surround the picture. I also wanted the logo to be associated with the picture and the person so that it would be remembered easier

Photo Design
Description: Photo design with color scheme elements. Date: 02/08/2014 Course/Instructor: Communications 130 sec 03 Brother Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Photoshop and a cannon rebel camera. Objectives: Learn and understand different camera techniques and cultivate skills with designing in Photoshop. Process: Took my own pictures and after making all the proper adjustments incorporated one with the best color scheme into a design. I wanted to make it simple and use only a complimentary color scheme of Orange and blue to make those colors stand out in the photo and create unity in the design. I used circle shapes to enhance the flow of the design and the tilt of the subjects head. I continued the repetition of my circular elements in my color swatch to finish of the design.

Montage
Description: Blending of multiple images together into one cohesive image with text. Date: 02/15/2014 Course/Instructor: Communications 130 sec 03 Brother Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Photoshop Objectives: Learn how to use the mask and brush to blend layers of images together. Process: After finding images that fit the quote I wanted to use I created several different masks and began to blend them together with the texture of the flag on the bottom. I used a very light opacity to make sure it created smooth lines and transitioned well from one image to the other. I embossed the text to make it look more like a dog tag and made it white to stand out from the rest of the image.
