Brochure
Description: A two sided (duplex) folding brochure. Date: 3/29/14 Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 05 Eric Lybbert Program(s)/Tools: InDesign Adobe Photoshop Objectives: Set up and align a two-sided, folded document. Create an original company logo and use it in a brochure. Write at least 250 words of original copy with at least three paragraphs. Trim for a full bleed and print in duplex (twosided) color. Process: I used Photoshop to create and edit my images and InDesign to add the images, text, and layout. I first started with InDesign and created the lay out of what I wanted my brochure to be. I then add text and image to create the meat of the project and then added color and extra things such a s a background to make the brochure stand out. I created my logo in Illustrator creating circles and using the pen tool to create my shapes.

Montage
Description: A montage created for the purpose of a movie advertising poster for Falling Up Date: 2/15/14 Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 05 Cory Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Photoshop Objectives: Learning how to use layers in Photoshop and having the ability to blend them together to create montages. Process: Found inspiration from viewing movie posters. Took and uploaded multiple photo into Photoshop. Photos: Self Portrait, Mountain, Stars. Outlined all photos with also tool and set them in one document. Used masks and blending modes to place stars, mountain, and myself in specific places. Using stars and self-created northern lights to make a montage feel project. Then flipped the image to create a water reflection effect. Added final touches of curves, brushes, and self created Photoshop filters to create the wanted look. Then added blur a blur filter around the edges. At used color brushed to add fog and atmospheric perspective. Last I added the Fonts and desired look to give them Program Used: Adobe Photoshop

Imaging
Date: 2/4/14 Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 05 Cody Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Lightroom Adobe Photoshop

Description: Take photographs that have been manipulated in Photoshop.

Objectives: Learn basic photography skills. Use a digital camera to take a quality image, then download it. Size and crop the image. Adjust image brightness, contrast, hue and saturation levels. Use a selection tool to isolate a portion of the image. Process: For my first photo (Composition 1: Thirds) I took it with a low depth of field and I focused in on the subjects face. I used simple changes of in curves and specific areas of the photo with control points.

Logos
Description: Three Logo ideas for the same company Date: 2/22/14 Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 05 Cody Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Illustrator Objectives: Create three completely different, original logos to fit a company or personal image that will appeal to the audience. Do not imitate existing logos or use your previous designs. Process: I used original images as templates and put them into Illustrator. I then used various shapes and the pen tool to shape them into the desired look. After creating the images I placed the desired text and put strokes on the text to create contrast from the image and text. After that I placed color where needed to fulfill the curtain requirements.

Letterhead
Description: Matching letterhead to be companies new logo. Date: 3/1/14 Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 05 Cody Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Illustrator Adobe InDesign Objectives: Design consistent layouts for a letterhead. Use your new logo to design two stationery items with consistent design. Process: I used Adobe Illustrator to create the Logos by using shapes and the pen tool. I then saved the document and reopened it into Adobe InDesign. I then added text to the Card and Letter to complete the project. Last I exported the project as a jpeg. I first created the Logo object by using multiple shapes and pen tool anchor points. As I added the shapes I made each shape a different shade of blue. I then moved it up to the right hand corner and shaped it size. I then added small thin triangle to represent arrows leading the viewer to the name and information, which I added later in InDesign. I then created the business card using the same logo as before. I reshaped both to the desired size. I added a black line around each one to create the card look. Then again I added text in InDesign.

Business Card

Event Ad
Description: A full bleed flier advertising a fundraiser. Date: 2/1/134 Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 05 Cody Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Microsoft Word Epson Scanner PDF2JPG.net (PDF converter) Objectives: Comprehend image sizing (how pixels and inches work together) Find, scan and import a high-quality image. Create a full-bleed design. Choose a color scheme and typeface(s) that work for your message and audience. Learn to use only Word design features without using any Adobe programs, including Photoshop. Process: I scanned the photo from a magazine. I then Put the photo into a word document. In word, I began to create shapes to make a background. I then used the opacity to make the shapes lighter or darker. Finally put in words and with different opacities and fonts.

Flier
Description: A flyer promoting a Graduation Leadership Process. Date: 1/25/2013 Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 05 Cody Kerr Program(s)/Tools: Adobe InDesign Objectives: Apply the design principles and use appropriate typography. Incorporate basic InDesign skills to improve basic flier layout. Retrieve image and logo from links on this page. Create a project folder with image, logo and InDesign document to keep links intact. Process: I first started out making 4 sketches and planning out my idea. I then took those sketches and actually took he best ideas from them and created this flyer. I created this flyer from Adobe Photoshop and InDesign

Web Page
Date: 3/15/14 Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 05 Cody Kerr Program(s)/Tools: TextWrangler Adobe Photoshop

Description: Creating a web page for a newly founded business and giving them a logo for their business.

Objectives: Create a Web page with A design layout and New logo for the business. Process: Using text wrangler I brought up and linked up the HTML and CSS of my web page. I used a template version of a web page that was given to through the class. I used this template to write down in HTML all of the requirements that had to be said on the webpage. Then using again the same template for CSS I then used adobe Photoshop to figure out what colors I needed to make the layout and fit my logo. I the last added the logo by replacing the name of the already given logo to my own.
