What to Do When Children Don't Get It -

Using Feedback to Help Preschoolers Get past Mistakes and Confusions

How adults interact when children are mistaken, confused or partially correct has a powerful influence on whether children learn new ideas or refine ideas they already have. Educators who are skilled at giving hints, exploring children's reasoning, providing information, and encouraging persistence help children deepen their understandings, even help them become more capable thinkers. In this session we will experience educators using high-quality feedback as defined by the CLASS tool and practice implementing feedback in daily Pre K activities.
