Meet at TWS where you'll get curiouser and curiouser after you drink a secret potion and travel down the rabbit hole. If you can fit through the door of The Williams School bus, ride it to the Taliaferro's for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, then on to the Littel's where you'll paint the roses red at the secret garden for dinner. Composting UPDATE
Since the beginning of the school year in The Williams School has generated 7,610 lbs (as of 3/24) of food, paper towel and milk carton waste, which equates to 3.805 tons of compostable trash. On Monday, we received 160 lbs of compost to be mixed with 2 parts topsoil. This soil will be used in the gardens. Education is the primary reason that we started this program with Natural Organic Processes in Richmond. If the children understand the natural food cycle, it goes a long way to encourage composting later in life. We are "closing the loop". (Grower to consumer, consumer to compost, compost to
grower)

If anyone is interested in helping spread soil this week, please contact Sally Marr at smarr@thewilliamsschool.org.

Adopt-A-Buddy Program Sponsored by the SCA

Mrs. Stephanie Osler, Licensed Social Work Manager and a parent of a TWS student, visited us Monday morning with her Buddy, Beans. Beans is a 120 pound chocolate lab who is 3-years old. He's been a Buddy for over 2-years at CHKD. Mrs. Osler explained to all TWS students what the Adopt-A-Buddy Program is, and what the therapy dogs do during their visits with sick children in CHKD. The SCA is seeking donations so we can adopt one or more Buddies. TWS will be able to sponsor one of the dogs with a $75 donation to the program. We want to encourage all TWS parents and faculty to make a donation towards this project. Any donation should be forwarded to Mrs. Milliners attention. **Any donations (tax deductible) should be made to CHKD with Adopt a
Buddy in the memo section.

Morning Drop off Afternoon Pickup

Because The Williams School is situated in such a confined traffic area, morning drop off and afternoon pickup can be tricky. As a member of this community we want to do everything possible to minimize the disruption of vehicular movement in our area. Here are our guidelines for both morning drop off and afternoon pickup: th Dont arrive too early. Particularly in the afternoon, K-4 pickups shouldnt begin arriving before 2:55PM. th th Middle school pickups, 5 8 , should not arrive until 3:15PM. Cars directly in front of the school should move forward as space becomes available. This allows cars waiting in the next block north of the school the opportunity to get out of the street. If you find yourself stopped or moving slowly as you approach the school please put on your emergency flashers so other drivers realize you are attempting to pick a child up at the school. If there is a long line waiting we would request you drive around the block and return once the line has diminished. Under no circumstance should anyone be waiting on Olney Road to make a right hand turn onto Colonial Avenue. Again, we would request that you drive around the block until cars are able to move to the school loading zone. Please do not make UTURNS on Colonial Avenue or neighborhood streets around TWS as this is prohibited, and unsafe for our students. Making a conscious effort to keep this process moving will help ensure that we have done our part to keep the neighborhood safe and flowing.
