The Ninth Siddhi Page 9
Miracles happen every day. Not just in remote
country villages or at holy sites halfway across
the globe, but here, in our own lives. They
bubble up from their hidden source, surround us
with opportunities, and disappear. They are the
shooting stars of everyday life. When we see
shooting stars, their rarity makes them seem
magical, but in fact, they streak across the sky all
the time.

Introduction
Authors note: If you run across a word
or concept you are not familiar with,
please use the glossary at the back of the
book.
Prosperity is a state of grace
Prosperity is a state of grace, abundance and well being that is
within your grasp. It is your human duty to be happy and wealthy.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 10
But, you must choose it! You must go after wealth and prosperity
with gusto, determination and perseverance.
To live and not be wealthy is a misfortune. You could have been
born rich just as easily as having been born poor. No matter where
you are now; no matter how frustrated you are; no matter how
desperate you are, you can overcome the obstacles that stand in
your way to an abundant and prosperous life. You have the power
to change the world by changing your thoughts, feelings and
intentions. You have the power and ability to manifest wealth and
abundance. This book will start you on this path.
Ninth Yogic Power
The practitioners of the Ninth Siddhi believe that within each one of
us is a powerful energized spirit. This spirit seeks fulfillment in the
world through the acquisition of knowledge and wisdom. The
knowledge that our spirits seek that allows it to blossom has been
forgotten by many of our spiritual leaders. The food which our
spirits so desperately need is not available through traditional
orthodox channels. This book tries to inform the reader of the
possibilities available to people that will lead to wealth and
prosperity albeit in a nontraditional way. That is, to a state of grace
producing an abundance of wealth and prosperity. Dr. Gopala, the
founder of this system, calls this state of grace the ninth yogic
power. As will be discussed in later chapters, this state of grace is
very pertinent to Christians since the discovery of the Gnostic
gospels in 1945.
Over the last 4,000 years, knowledge of the potential of the human
spirit has come to light when needed most by people who are
suffering. Today seems to be that time. Most would agree that yoga
has become a ubiquitous word in the last few decades. And, Noetic
Science has made significant inroads in studying yogic practices and
The Ninth Siddhi Page 11
has made more than a few innovations regarding human potential.
Dr. Gopala cofounder of The Ninth Siddhi has taken all that is
known in yoga and Noetic science and condensed this knowledge
into a system that produces wealth by using the mind and spirit to
predict a specific future event.
The system is a process
We believe you have the power to win the lottery using ancient
techniques combined with scientific innovation. I know it sounds
incredulous. I know it sounds unreasonable. I know it sounds
unbelievable. But it is true and it is a reality. However, we are not
saying that it is easy. The system is a process. You need to practice
the system to get good at it. But you have the power using this
system to create wealth and prosperity beyond your imagination.
The basis of the system is to energize an intention for wealth and
abundance close to the Source of Thought. As part of the training
system, you will be taught to use charts to track your progress. In
addition, The Ninth Siddhi uses a ranking system. In order to
progress through the ranks of Initiate, Soldier of Peace and
Principal, you must successfully win a three number game as well
as a four number game. After learning the technique by
successfully predicting a three and four number lottery sequence,
the Soldier may join a group of others who have the same training
and work within the group to predict a mega game lottery
sequence.
We show using scientific evidence that everyone has an inherent
ability to use this system to acquire wealth and abundance while
producing peace and non-violence in the community. But you must
persevere; you must be proactive; you must practice daily.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 12
An incredulous example
Look at it like this! Lets take my wrist watch and your wrist watch
set them to exactly the same time and put them both on the kitchen
table. Lets take your wrist watch and put it on a rocket ship and let
it orbit the Earth a few times. Lets bring your watch back and set it
on the kitchen table. Lets look at the time on each watch. They will
show different times. Scientists have shown that clocks tick at
different speeds the
further away one clock
gets from a gravitational
field as large as the Earths.
How can this be? This is
incredulous. It is
unreasonable to think that
clocks tick at different
speeds under any
conditions. Still, the United States Army adjusts the GPS (Global
Positioning System) satellites every 15 minutes because the clock on
the Earth and the clock on the satellite in space tick at different
speeds. If the clocks are not adjusted our GPS system would get out
of sync. The culprit here is Dr. Einstein. Einstein proved that space
and time are related in strange ways, which mere mortals like us
may never understand.
Just like in space, as Einstein predicted, at the most subtle level of
our mind, time and space are not as we experience them while we
are awake. At the deepest level of our minds, near the source of our
thoughts, we are not bound by time and space. As a matter of fact,
we argue that this fact gives our mind and spirit predictive ability.
We have named this subtle state of mind the Source of Thought. The
Ninth Siddhi teaches you how to experience the Source of Thought
and use its predictive potential to manifest wealth and prosperity.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 13
Really, there are a lot of incredulous examples that we could talk
about that would show we do not understand our day-time reality
as well as we think we do. Did you know that if we put you on a
space ship and speeded you up to near the speed of light for a few
years when you came back to earth 100 years would have gone by?
You would have traveled into the future. These facts seem
incredulous and unreasonable in our everyday life, yet proven by
Nobel Prize winning scientists all around the world. These
scientific discoveries show that our everyday mundane experience
is not complete. Much more exists to be experienced. The Ninth
Siddhi will teach you how to go beyond the mundane and
experience a state of grace called Transcendence.
With these scientific examples, it is not hard to believe that there
exists a field of being a fourth state of consciousness - available to
you that has predictive potential. Although we decided to call this
fourth state of consciousness the Source of Thought, this experience
has gone by many other names over the last 4,000 years. A few
names are Atma, Para, Pure Awareness, Transcendental Awareness,
Bliss Consciousness, Samadhi, Transcendental Consciousness, and
State of Being. And now a new more modern name, The Unified
Field, coined by Dr. John Hagelin, a director at the Institute for
Noetic Science.
Basis of the System
The basis of the system is to set an energized intention to predict a
winning lottery number close to the Source of Thought. This book
will teach you how to accomplish this task.
Before we begin, we take a few pages in Chapter One to make you
aware of the founder of this system Dr. Gopala. He is the
inspiration and motivation for this book.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 14
The rest of the book is divided into two sections: The Tradition
Section and the Craft Section.
The Tradition Section discusses the basis of the system, namely to
set an energized intention close to the Source of Thought in order to
predict, prophesize, or heal. The technique is discussed through the
tradition of Eastern thought, the Jewish Tradition, and the new
Christian Gnostic Gospels. This technique has been used by people
of all faiths to predict and heal for over 4,000 years.
In the East, the technique was also used to teach levitation and
invisibility as well as six other yogic powers. Today we use this
technique to predict the lottery, and thus, it is the ninth technique or
the ninth yogic power. We choose to use the Sanskrit word
Siddhi instead of the western word power, so we call the
system The Ninth Siddhi. The Ninth Siddhi has an incredible
tradition which crosses cultural boundaries and religious
experience. We at the Ninth Siddhi believe that all practitioners
should know the tradition of this technique that aspires to teach a
super normal skill. This tradition will create confidence in the
initiate, remove any doubt about the nature of the technique, and
provide the practitioner with a basis for additional study.
In the Craft Section, we show you how to approach the Source of
Thought, set an energized intention, and use charts to keep it all in
perspective.
The Tradition Section
The Tradition Section is divided into six chapters. The first chapter
discusses Dr. Gopala, the founder and inspiration for The Ninth
Siddhi. Chapter two is titled the Bhagavad-Gita. In this chapter, we
discuss the various revivals of this technique through time as well
as define the meaning of Being and Transcendental Awareness.
Many important concepts are developed such as the Maharishi
The Ninth Siddhi Page 15
Effect, Right Action, the Maharishi Doctrine, the Super Radiance
Effect, and the World Peace Project. These concepts form an
important part of the Ninth Siddhi philosophy and are continually
returned to in later chapters. The reader may consider spending
extra time studying and internalizing this chapter. Many of the
terms and concepts are new to Westerners. However, those familiar
with the New Christian Gospels found in 1945 may be surprised at
the similarities between these gospels and the concepts discussed in
this chapter.
Chapter three is titled The Kabbalah. In chapter three, we show the
technique of experiencing the Source of Thought is alive and well in
the mystical tradition of Judaism. We also show how ideas
concerning Transcendental Being are revived in the Torah and how
that revival affects The Ninth Siddhi.
Chapter Four is titled The New Christian Gospels. This chapter is
dedicated to Elaine Pagels for translating the New Gospels and
publishing her bestselling book The Gnostic Gospels. Without this
book, we would not have understood the immense power of the
Ninth Siddhi technique. Finally, we get to understand the link
between eastern yogic powers and Christian miracles. In this
chapter, we find that during the time of Christ, devotees were using
meditative techniques similar to the Ninth Siddhi to change their
lives from one of great suffering to one of peace, love and bliss.
Over and over again, in the early days of Christianity, we see
examples of Christ teaching the virtues of Transcendence. In the
later sections of the Chapter, we ask the question, Why were
Christians denied this wisdom and knowledge of Transcendental
Awareness for the last 1,700 years? You may be surprised at the
answer.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 16
Chapter Five is titled Globalization of Being. In this chapter, we
discuss the meaning and consequences of Transcendental/Gnostic
revivals in the east, in Judaism and Christianity. In a Lullaby for
Mary we discuss the results of an energized intention set close to the
Source of Thought and its effect on women for the last 2000 years.
We try to show how the revival of Being and The Ninth Siddhi
could affect world peace in the long term and implications for war
in the short term.
In chapter six, The Science of Being, we discuss Transcendental
Awareness, Transcendence, and lottery prediction from a scientific
point of view. We quickly see that new sciences like Quantum
Mechanics are authenticating what a short historical time ago was
thought to be a mystical belief.
The Craft Section
In the Craft section, we learn how to predict winning lottery
numbers using the Ninth Siddhi Technique.
Chapter seven is titled The Craft. In this chapter, we discuss the
objective of the Craft and the connection between the Divine
Proportion number sequence and the Lottery Number Sequence.
We learn about our first Mantra called Laxmis Mantra and are
given an overview of the Craft which includes rankings and
worksheets.
Chapter eight is titled Becoming an Initiate. In this chapter, we
discuss how to use the Mantra sound file. In addition, the Ninth
Siddhi Point System is revealed along with how to chart the points.
A ten day moving average is introduced to verify improvement in
your skill at prediction. Finally, my three number game charts are
used as a tool for improvement. In this part of the chapter, I publish
The Ninth Siddhi Page 17
my own chart on how I won a three number game in 32 days. Much
can be learned from my story.
Chapter nine is titled Becoming a Soldier of Peace. A new Mantra
is introduced for four number games and an updated point system
and worksheets are discussed.
Chapter ten is titled The Mega Games. In the Mega Games chapter,
we discuss how to win the five and six number games. In the Ninth
Siddhi, groups are organized to win these Mega games. Marys
Lullaby is analyzed from a group meditation point of view.
Individual Rating Worksheets are developed as are Group
Worksheets. In addition, for special situations, Matrices are
developed and discussed.
Following is Chapter One, which details the inspiration for this
book and the foundation on which it was developed.

About Dr. Gopala
Founder of The Ninth Siddhi
First Meeting
I first met Dr. Gopala at a Spiritual Regeneration Movement
residence course many decades ago. These yoga courses were
usually taught over a long weekend and regularly held at Catholic
retreat houses around the country. He was a guest lecturer
discussing Yogic Siddhis (yogic powers) primarily levitation
(sometimes called Yogic Flying) and invisibility now called remote
viewing by educators and the military. I attended all his lectures.
He was a favorite among the initiates and spoke with a clear
passion for his specialty.
During that weekend, on a wakeful night, I had a chance to speak
with Dr. Gopala. It was not unusual for the attendees to be milling
The Ninth Siddhi Page 19
around at all hours of the night. The course leaders had us
rounding (a series of yoga practices involving breathing,
stretching and meditation) all day long when not attending a
lecture. It seemed like after all the stretching and meditating, we
did not need as much sleep as usual. It was just dawn when I sat on
an outdoor bench next to Dr. Gopala overlooking a gentle river
slowly meandering around the retreat center. It was an odd
experience. Coupled with his spiritual presence, the river was
teeming with an abundance of life. Mayfly and Caddis were
beginning to hatch as trout were beginning their morning feast,
their rises more rhythmic than random. I searched for the courage to
speak.
I was nervous at first, the way students are when speaking to a
professor, but he had a calming effect on me. We discussed
invisibility since that was the last lecture he had given and the
Siddhi I was most interested in at the time. He answered all my
questions. He said he was somewhat saddened by the way the West
was using the Siddhis, which had for thousands of years been secret
and mysterious. In the past, these yogic powers had only been
taught to the highest caste of Brahmins.
He went on to say that the military was using invisibility, which
they renamed remote viewing and were using this Siddhi (yogic
power) to spy on the Russians. He was less saddened by the fact
they were using a Siddhi to spy and more saddened by the way this
yogic technique had been studied, quantified, analyzed and taught.
He went on to say, offhandedly, it would be easier to teach students
about the predictive potential of the Source of Thought or lottery
predictions than many of the ancient yoga Siddhis. Of course, all I
heard was lottery predictions.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 20
I asked Dr. Gopala what he meant by lottery predictions trying not
to sound overly excited. Just like he had discussed in his lectures,
he said, if getting close to the Source of Thought could bring about
remote viewing, then with the properly energized intention and the
Matra-vrttas (Divine Proportion or Golden Ratio - a sacred number
used in one of the categories of meters in Sanskrit and Prakit poetry
around A.D. 1100), we should be able to use the predictive potential
of the Source of Thought to make reasonable lottery predictions.
Actually, he went on to say, lottery predictions should be easier
then remote viewing since consciousness didnt need be maintained
near the Source of Thought for long periods time. With a strong,
energized and unselfish intention, most people should be able to
perform this technique. It seemed we talked for hours that morning.
Eventually, Dr. Gopala got up from the bench and headed for the
retreat house deep in contemplation. The sun had now risen, choirs
of birds now trumpeted a new day and I still had a million more
questions. But I dont think Dr. Gopala had the details of the system
worked out yet, that would come years later.
Second Meeting
Many years went by but I could never quite get the idea of a new
modern Siddhi out of my mind. It made a lot of sense. Using these
ancient techniques to predict the future was not out of the question.
Considering that Dr. Gopala earned his PhD in physics, he knew a
lot about the way the physical world was organized as well as how
the mind worked. If anyone could find a system that could relate
the predictive ability of the Source of Thought with future events
and bring that event to waking state, Dr. Gopala could do it.
Again, on another sleepless night just before dawn, Dr. Gopala and
I reunited. It was a five-day residence course over the holidays.
Although he was staying at the retreat house, he was not lecturing.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 21
He knew immediately what was on my mind and smiled. I was not
shy about asking about the predictive ability of the Source of
Thought and how we might go about predicting winning lottery
numbers. He confided that although India sponsored a lottery in
Punjab in 1968, he did not know a lot about the games. He had
never bought a lottery ticket and had no desire to do so.
Nonetheless, I could tell that the idea of gaining significant power
and wealth through a yogic technique intrigued him. He confided
that he had been thinking about the possibility and was keen on
sponsoring a new way of thinking about predicting the future.
After all, Dr. Gopala had lectured for years on the yogic powers of
invisibility and levitation. Dr. Gopala had no interest in ever
actually playing the lottery, but the potential for others who were
practicing yoga to acquire wealth and power to be used in ways that
could manifest a less violent world captivated his interest.
A warning given by Dr. Gopala
Before moving on to specifics about the lottery prediction process,
he gave me a warning. He said that the Siddhis were like side-
shows at a circus. They were distractions along the way to the big
top tent where the main attractions take place. He said we should
not get so involved with the attainment of any of the Siddhis that
we forget to strive for spiritual perfection as opposed to riches.
Striving for spiritual perfection gives us the grace and balance to
manifest love and forgiveness in our lives and in those around us.
He said by concentrating on lottery number predictions, we could
become distracted from our spiritual pursuits. On the other hand, if
practitioners used the wealth and power for unselfish purposes and
for the betterment of the community, it may be possible that the
system of lottery prediction could improve our sense of well being
as well as the sense of well being in those around us. Certainly, the
yogic meditation technique is a healthy technique to perform.
Studies have shown these techniques reduce stress, improve
The Ninth Siddhi Page 22
creativity as well as intelligence, and produce a unique state of
restful alertness.
Right Action
I believe that the foundation of Dr. Gopalas interest in the
predictive potential of the Source of Thought lies in the yogic
concept of Right Action. He loved to discuss the many benefits of
meditation practice. Besides those noted throughout this book is
the concept that as we consistently contact the Source of Thought in
our practice, we will eventually carry forward the experience of the
Source of Thought into our everyday life. That is, we will
experience the Source of Thought in the day time along with our
conscious thoughts. This experience will bring our mind and daily
actions in sync with creation. Every action we take and every
thought we have will be supported by all of life. We will be in
harmony with the creative intelligence in the universe; the force in
the universe that moves life forward. This idea of living in direct
harmony with creation is called Right Action. Consequently, a
practitioner of Dr. Gopalas winning lottery system is more likely to
use wealth and power gained from these techniques in an unselfish
way for the benefit of us all.
He related to me that the size of the winnings were so large that all
of an individuals needs could be met with a fraction of the
winnings. What is to be done with the other hundreds of millions?
How would creation use this wealth for the benefit of human kind?
The Maharishi Effect
The idea that practitioners of a meditation technique can have a
verifiable effect on society is not new. For example, Dr. John
Hagelin an American physicist, three time candidate of the
Natural Law Party for the President of the United States and current
leader of the Transcendental Meditation Movement in the United
The Ninth Siddhi Page 23
States has presented evidence that groups of meditators can have
a measurable effect on society. This phenomenon is called the
Maharishi Effect. In the summer of 1993, Dr. Hagelin conducted a
large scale study in which 4,000 meditators gathered in the District
of Columbia and practiced TM twice daily for eight weeks. During
the eight weeks of the study, violent crime (homicides, rapes and
assaults) dropped by 23%. Over the last 10 years, the Maharishi
Effect has been verified many times in many cities throughout the
world. The Maharishi Effect is a result of the Right Action
attribute of the Source of Thought.
Centers for Developing the Predictive Potential
Dr. Gopala, well aware of the Maharishi Effect, hinted that centers
for the practice of developing the predictive potential inherent in
the Source of Thought should be established. First, the centers
would reduce crime in the cities they were established through the
Maharishi Effect. Second, proceeds (lottery winnings) could be used
to support the centers as well as educate and teach the benefits of
contacting the Source of Thought. If enough centers were
established around the world, violence in the world would be
reduced significantly. I believe this is the reason Dr. Gopala
revealed this ancient knowledge to us.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 24
CHAPTER 2
The Curtain rises on the scene
With someone shouting to be free
The play unfolds before my eyes
There stands the actor who is me
The sleeping hours take us far
From traffic telephone and fear
Put out your problems with the cat
Escape until a bell you hear
Our reasons are the same
But theres no one we can blame
For theres nowhere we need go
And the only truth we know comes so easily
The sound I have heard in your hello
Oh Darling, Youre almost part of me.
The Actor Moody Blues
The Bhagavad-Gita
History of the Lost Chord
Today, the Moody Blues sing the praises of transcendence. We live
in a time in which knowledge and experience of Transcendental
Being is widespread and growing. We live in a time of revival. But,
The Ninth Siddhi Page 25
it wasnt always so. Veda Vyasa, a sage of enlightened vision and
greatest among the historians of antiquity, recorded the growth of
unrighteousness in the ruling families 5000 years ago. Veda knew
that when suffering and unrighteousness grows an invisible force of
nature moves to correct mans vision and establish a way of life
which again will fulfill the high purpose of mans existence (the
Maharishi Doctrine). It was in this time of turmoil that Lord
Krishna came to remind man of the true value of life and the art of
living. He restored direct contact with Transcendental Being, which
alone gives fullness and abundance to every aspects of life. That is,
he made Transcendental Being a basic reality of life. He taught that
the experience of Transcendental Being is the foundation for all
thinking and consequently the foundation for action in the world.
He taught that only through experience of Transcendental Being can
man achieve an integrated and full life. This experience not only
helps man gain success in his endeavors but also frees him from
suffering the negative forces of life. Such is the eternal truth given
by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the Bhagavad-Gita.
Over the next two thousand years, this teaching faded and was
forgotten. The principle idea that Transcendental Being is the
Source of Thought, was forgotten. This knowledge and wisdom was
overshadowed by misguided beliefs that glorified only the relative
aspects of life. The long lapse of time says Krishna, is the reason
for such a loss of wisdom.
When Lord Krishnas philosophy of an integrated life was lost, the
philosophy was replaced with the idea that everything life can offer
is present on the obvious levels of existence. The new philosophy
argued that it would be foolish to aspire to anything that might lay
deeper than external experience. Society became dominated by this
superficial outlook, insight into Transcendental Being was lost, the
correct sense of values forgotten, and the stability of life destroyed.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 26
As a result, tension, stress, and unhappiness manifested themselves,
and unfortunately, the greatest destroyer of the integrated life, fear,
prevailed.
So, three thousand years ago, Lord Buddha came to remedy this
situation. He taught meditation to purify the field of thought
through direct contact with Transcendental Being. Lord Buddha
believed that this contact would bring about a state of Right
Action in society. Later in this chapter, we will see how Maharishi
Mahesh Yogi measures Right Action produced by a group of
meditators as a force of nature bringing about a reduction of
violence to cities and communities around the world. Lord
Buddhas message was complete because, as the Maharishi writes in
his translation and commentary on the Bhagavad-Gita, He
incorporated the fields of Transcendental Being, thinking and doing
in his spiritual revival.
Unfortunately, Buddhas followers, like those of Lord Krishna,
failed to correlate these different fields of Being in a systematic way
through the practice of Transcendental Meditation. The realization
that direct experience of Being is the basis of a good life was
obscured and lost. According to the Maharishi, the whole structure
of Lord Buddhas teaching not only became distorted but was
turned upside down. The effect of contact with Being was mistaken
for the cause. Right Action came to be regarded as a means to
gain Being, whereas Right Action is in fact the result of contact
with Being. It has been the misfortune of Man that whether the
teacher is Krishna, Buddha, or Christ, the teacher speaks from his
level of consciousness and the teachers followers receive the
message on their own level of consciousness and the gulf between
teacher and understanding grows wider with time. Consequently,
within three or four hundred years all real connection between the
essential teaching of Buddha and the daily life of His followers was
The Ninth Siddhi Page 27
lost. Forgotten was the importance of experiencing Transcendental
Being in our daily life, so once again society became immersed in
the superficialities of life. Tension, stress, fear, and unrighteousness
prevailed.
Again, when suffering and unrighteousness grows an invisible force
of nature moves to correct mans vision and establish a way of life
which again fulfills the high purpose of our existence.
Consequently, 1000 years after Buddha or 2000 years ago in the 8
th
century, Adi Shankara reestablishes the basis of life on the
experience of Transcendental Being. The Maharishi says that
Shankara brought the message of fulfillment through direct
experience of Transcendental Being, which is the basis of all that is
good in life and that his consciousness exemplified the highest state
of human development. Shankara not only brought to the world
wisdom of the integrated life, lived through direct experience of
Transcendental Being. He also established four principal seats of
learning in four corners of India to keep his teaching pure and
insure that it would be properly propagated in its entirety
generation after generation. Such was the greatness of Shankaras
vision.
For many centuries his teaching about the value of direct experience
of Transcendental Being and an integrated life remained alive and
well. But despite all his foresight and endeavors, Shankaras
message inevitably suffered the same misfortune as those of other
great teachers. The Maharishi explains that the state of Reality as
described by the enlightened man cannot become a path for the
seeker, any more than the description of a destination can replace
the road that leads to it. When the truth that experience of
Transcendental Being forms the basis of an enlightened mind
became obscured, Shankaras descriptions about the nature of the
goal were mistaken for the path to realization.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 28
And it gets worse, as the truth of Transcendental Being began to
disappear from view, teachers came to teach without upholding the
principle that it is only through direct contact with Being, that an
integrated life can be developed. People followed these teachers and
many devotional sects were formed throughout India and the
world. The foundation of these sects were grounded in the hope
that, someday our prayer will be heard. Since these sects
operated on the surface level of consciousness - aptly described as
mood-making - knowledge of Transcendental Being was lost.
Seekers were led astray, and lovers of the Divine remained weeping
without finding love or prosperity.
Our current time has been fortunate. It has witnessed a living
example of a man inspired by eastern wisdom in its wholeness a
man able to revive the teaching of the Bhagavad-Gita. In 1965, the
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, in his commentary on the Bhagavad-Gita,
again brought the message of the integrated life to seekers around
the world. He teaches the essence of the Gita - that the unity of life
and consciousness cannot be significant until one has thoroughly
understood, by direct experience, that ones inner divine nature is
separate from the world of action. That direct experience of
Transcendental Being brings about individual fulfillment in life and
this can be accomplished through the technique of Transcendental
Meditation. In his teachings, the Maharishi revives the
understanding that only through direct contact of Transcendental
Being can an individual begin to live an integrated lie. In addition to
these facts, he describes a meditation technique to attain this
experience.
In 1958, the Maharishi established the world-wide Spiritual
Regeneration Movement in India. Since then the principles of an
integrated life have been taught the world over. The current
The Ninth Siddhi Page 29
movement has over several million participants experiencing
Transcendental Being daily. The global organization consists of
approximately 1,000 TM centers. Currently, there are many TM-
centered communities around the world. Today, millions of people
meditate daily experiencing Transcendental Being. In the coming
chapters, we will come to understand the consequences of so many
people experiencing Transcendental Being in our lifetime.
In our attempt to follow the revivals of Transcendental Being
through history, we did not mean to leave out of the discussion the
Jewish or Christian traditions. So much needs to be said about
Being and the Kabbalah/Torah and the revival of Being in the New
Christian Gospels, we gave each its own chapter. Never before has
direct experience of Transcendental Being been taught to so many
from both an eastern perspective and a western perspective. Never
before in Mans history has such an abundance of Transcendental
Being flooded the soul of humanity in one lifetime. Later chapters
will show the profound consequences of this timely occurrence and
its effect on the Ninth Siddhi.
What is Being
Before discussing how Transcendental Meditation is used to directly
experience Transcendental Being, we need to understand the
essential nature of Being itself. According to Maharishi and the
New Christian Gospels discussed in a later chapter, Being is Life, It
is existence. Meditative experience shows that Being is the source of
all thinking, the Source of Thought, and moreover, the source of all
existing creation. Being lies outside of relative existence where the
experiencer is left awake by itself in full awareness of itself without
the experience of an object to perceive. In other words, Being is
exclusive of perception. The waking mind reaches the state of pure
consciousness or pure awareness. It is the source of all natural law
that maintains and pushes creation forward. It is the source of all
The Ninth Siddhi Page 30
personal power, abundance and wealth. It is the source of power
used in the practice of the Ninth Siddhi.
For those readers who have not had the experience of
Transcendental Being, the above paragraph is extremely difficult to
understand to say the least. Think of it like this, say you are at the
movie theater and just before the movie starts the bright light of the
projector shines through the first few frames of the film. Sometimes
the projectionist uses these blank frames to get the film started in
the projector. Nonetheless, a very bright light appears on the
screen. You are very aware of the bright light and marvel at its
brightness. Then the movie starts. Now, the bright light changes to
something familiar to ones perceiving mind, into something familiar
to the senses. A little bit further into the movie you become
emotionally involved and may be brought to tears, sometimes to
laughter. Inevitably, you forget about the bright light that is the
underlying basis of the sight and sound you are experiencing. As a
matter of fact, once the movie starts, no amount of trying will let
you view the screen as the bright light.
The action in the movie is the way we experience objects of
perception. That is, the way we experience the world through sight,
sound, touch, smell and taste. But, in addition, the movie caused us
to create thoughts and those thoughts created feelings in us. We
experienced the movie as we experience life, through our senses,
thoughts, and feelings. Being is like the bright light before the
movie starts. It is always present, albeit invisible to the senses.
Clearly, the bright light like Being supports the action in the movie
as Being supports our thoughts and actions. Being is life as the
bright light of the projector is the movie. When we say that Being is
transcendental to our thoughts and actions we mean that it is
beyond our ability to perceive it through our senses or thoughts.
But unlike the bright light of the movie theater, we can experience
The Ninth Siddhi Page 31
Being through meditative practice. The experience of Being, as you
might expect, is one of pure awareness. Imagine the bright light of
the projector as having the capacity to manifest a movie as Being
manifests life. As the bright light on the screen supports all aspects
of the movie, Being likewise supports all aspects of life and creation.
As the bright light is the foundation for a movie, Being is the
foundation of life. When we say Being is outside relative existence,
we mean it isnt an object of perception, thought, or feeling. When
we say Being is absolute, we mean like the bright light of the movie
projector, it is non-changing. It may manifest a movie, as being
manifests life, but it remains unchanged in its essential nature.
When we say Being is unbound by time and space, we mean that its
nature is non-changing, absolute, and outside the relative sphere of
existence.
However, Being has energy. As the bright light of the movie screen
is reflected back to our eyes as light energy, Being manifests
creation and our lives through an energy source called Prana. Prana
is the tendency of the field of Being to manifest and create. In the
Christian tradition, this energy force is called the Blood of Christ. In
China it is called Chi. In later chapters, we will see how this energy
source called Dark Energy by scientists, is measured and
observed. It is called Dark by scientists because it is invisible to our
senses. We use this energy source in the Ninth Siddhi to manifest or
predict lottery numbers from the lottery number sequence.
One of the premises of this book is that as we gain knowledge and
begin to experience Transcendental Being, we gain an advantage
from that knowledge and grow in our understanding about life. Our
life becomes more comprehensive, more powerful, more useful, and
expansively more creative in our aspirations. We also increase our
ability to perform the various Siddhis.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 32
How to experience Transcendental Being
The Bhagavad-Gita, Kabbalah/Torah, and the New Christian
Gospels not only postulate that contact with Transcendental Being
is necessary for an integrated life but, in addition, all offer a
systematic way to have a direct experience of the essential nature of
Transcendental Being. In this section we will describe the technique
given in the Bhagavad-Gita. In later chapters, we will discuss the
techniques offered in the Kabbalah and the New Christian Gospels.
We use this technique to get close to the Source of Thought where
we set an energized intention to predict a lottery number.
We have seen that Being lies outside our senses in the
transcendental field of existence. In order to experience this
transcendental reality, it is necessary that our attention be led in a
systematic and concrete manner through all the levels of the mind
to the very Source of Thought. When we arrive at the subtlest level
of our mind, we transcend relative experience and experience
Transcendental Being or pure awareness.
Put another way, we know that our ability to perceive objects are
limited by our senses. Clearly, we never experience everything in
the gross field of life. For example, we do not see everything that
there is to see. We only see a small spectrum of visible light when
so much more could be perceived, such as x-rays and infrared light.
We do not hear all that could be heard. Many high frequencies
heard by animals are not heard by us. And, bloodhounds are
notorious for their sense of smell. My point is that even in the gross
field of life we do not experience all that we could. We could
experience more if our senses were more profound. Thus, our
senses only offer us a partial view of Reality.
All experience brought to our attention through the senses and all
the resulting thoughts and feelings are part of the relative sphere of
The Ninth Siddhi Page 33
the mind. In order to go beyond the relative field of the mind, we
must experience subtler and subtler levels of thought until we
transcend the relative sphere of the mind.
So, how exactly do we do this? Experience shows that the process of
thinking starts at the deepest, most refined level of consciousness
and becomes grosser as it develops. Eventually, it becomes gross
enough to be perceived on the surface level of the mind. Imagine
the mind as an ocean, the surface layers are active with waves, but
the deeper layers are silent. A thought starts at the deepest level of
consciousness, travels through the whole depth of the ocean of
mind, and finally appears as a conscious thought on the surface. We
only become aware of thoughts after they have come to the surface.
But, there is much thought we are not aware of and these thought
fragments are not appreciated. If there was a way to consciously
appreciate all the states of the thought prior to the thought reaching
the surface level, then this approach would lead us consciously to
the subtlest level of thought and to transcendence.
In Transcendental Meditation, the mind is trained to experience
thought at an earlier and earlier stage of development. When the
Source of Thought is reached, we transcend. In this way, the Source
of Thought or Transcendental Being is experienced by the conscious
mind. That is, when mind transcends the subtlest state of thought,
the conscious mind transcends the subtlest state of relative
experience and arrives at the state of Transcendental Being, the state
of pure awareness.
But, what makes the mind choose to go to subtler and subtler states
of thought? How do we begin this process? The Maharishi says it is
because the nature of Transcendental Being is Bliss Consciousness,
and the mind will gravitate to that which is most attractive: love
and peace. The mind is charmed by Bliss and led to the experience
The Ninth Siddhi Page 34
of Transcendental Being. However, some thoughts are more
conducive to moving the mind towards Bliss. So the teachers of
Transcendental Meditation provide the meditator with a proper
thought, sound, or Mantra that helps the mind move toward
transcendence.
According to the Maharishi, A proper thought [sound or Mantra]
means a thought whose nature is harmonious and useful to the
thinker and his surroundings. Every thought as every spoken word
has some influence on the thinker and his surroundings. Just as a
stone thrown into a pond produces waves that reach all the
extremities of the pond, any thought, word or action produces
waves in the atmosphere and these waves travel in all directions
and strike against everything in the atmosphere. They produce
some influence in every level of creation. The whole universe is
influenced by every thought, word and action of every individual.
When such a wide range of influence of the thought [sound or
Mantra] exists, one needs to be very particular about the quality of
thought [Mantra] one creates in his mind in order to experience
Transcendental Being. So, for the sake of facilitating the finding of
the proper Mantra for each individual, the Maharishi trained certain
individuals as teachers in the art of selecting a proper thought,
sound, or Mantra to correspond to the special qualities of the
individual. These trained teachers of meditation are found in
almost every country and in thousands of centers of the Spiritual
Regeneration Movement around the world.
The Maharishi continues his dialog in The Science of Being and the Art
of Living explaining, By necessity, the practice of Transcendental
Meditation is verbal; it is imparted by personal instruction. It
cannot be imparted through a book because it not only involves
telling an aspirant how to experience the subtle states of thinking,
The Ninth Siddhi Page 35
but an even greater responsibility lies in finding out what the
aspirant experiences when he proceeds on that path
So, we experience Transcendental Being by practicing
Transcendental Meditation. In this technique, a Mantra is used to
experience subtler and subtler thoughts until the most subtle state
of thought is transcended and pure awareness is experienced. The
mind is drawn to Transcendental Being because its very nature is
bliss, love, and peace. The Mantra is used to facilitate the natural
movement of mind towards bliss. However, each individual needs
a Mantra unique to him/her. This necessity means that the
technique must be taught verbally by an instructor trained in
selecting a proper Mantra for the seeker.
Seven States of Consciousness
The experience of Transcendental Being as pure awareness during
meditation is a small first step on the path toward a fully integrated
life. In Chapter two of the Bhagavad-Gita, pure awareness as the
fourth state of consciousness is described. The first three states of
consciousness are waking state, dream state, and deep sleep. Pure
awareness is said to be a small step because it is the basis for more
advanced states of consciousness.
By repeatedly experiencing pure awareness twice a day for some
time, the seeker begins to experience pure awareness not only
during meditation but also simultaneously with waking state,
dream state, and deep sleep. Once a seeker maintains pure
awareness and activity at the same time he/she is said to be living
in a duality or a fifth state of consciousness called Cosmic
Consciousness.
Think of it like this. When a person wishes to color cloth she dips
the cloth into dye. When the cloth is removed from the dye it is
The Ninth Siddhi Page 36
hung in the sun to set. But, the sun and wind fade the color. So, the
next day the process is repeated until the color is maintained in its
brilliance and does not fade when brought into the light of day. The
same is true of pure awareness. The meditator dips herself into
Transcendental Being and experiences pure Awareness. When she
completes her meditation, the experience of Being fades a bit when
brought into activity. However, with a twice a day practice more
and more Being is maintained and eventually she is able to maintain
pure awareness while also involved in activity. In this way she lives
a life full of Being in the state of Cosmic Consciousness.
A life lived in the state of Cosmic Consciousness is said to be a life
lived in a state of duality, because both the ego and Being are
experienced simultaneously. A strong loving and forgiving ego
maintains its identity and Being is experienced as a silent witness.
Through devotion and practice this duality dissolves into a sixth
state of consciousness known as Divine Consciousness. It is
described in the Bhagavad-Gita as a state where all personal
experience is divinely inspired. Finally, in Unity Consciousness the
seventh state of consciousness, man is truly inspired by the will of
Being as the world at large, all of creation, is experienced as divinely
inspired.
To practice the Ninth Siddhi, we do not need to advance to the
greatness of the advanced states of consciousness. We do not even
need to experience Being as pure awareness to develop predictive
ability. But it is necessary to understand the greatness of the
teaching, the fullness of the heritage, and the affinity for divinity
that this practice entails.
The Physiology of Consciousness
As the technique to experience Being exploded into our field of
awareness across the globe, scientists were quick to pick up on the
The Ninth Siddhi Page 37
phenomena and test the claims. They wondered if these subjective
experiences could be verified in the laboratory. Could
transcendence be quantified? Could higher states of consciousness
be verified by science?
Scientists tested meditators to see if there was a link between
changes in the body and transcendence. The scientific literature that
has been created on this topic is too numerous to mention in this
short book. In my opinion, one of the most renowned researchers
is Dr. Robert Keith Wallace. He wrote The Physiology of
Consciousness. In his book, Dr. Wallace list hundreds of studies
supporting the idea that changes occur in the body and mind when
one experiences Transcendental Being on a regular basis. One
interesting study found that there are different physiological
patterns of transcending for different individuals. For example, one
study looked at the frequency of breath suspension in
Transcendental Meditation. Almost all meditators report this
happening when one gets close to transcendence or is experiencing
Transcendental Being. It seems there is a slowing or cessation of
breathing for a short period of time. Objective measurements of this
experience do in fact show respiratory suspension for as much as
one minute in about one-third of the subjects, according to Dr.
Wallace. When these subjects are compared to those just resting
with their eyes closed, no such cessation is found. Further, when
the meditators are asked to press a button after having transcended,
an extremely large percentage of the buttons are pressed just after
breath suspension. So, for these subjects, periods of breath
suspension can, in fact, be used as reliable physiological markers for
the experience of Transcendental Being. These types of studies
show that transcendence causes both decreased sensitivity to
increased levels of carbon dioxide and an increased sensitivity to
low levels of oxygen. This suggests that a refined pattern of brain
functioning specific to specific areas of the brain occurs during
The Ninth Siddhi Page 38
meditation. Dr. Wallace also suggests that the machinery and
patterns of transcending are part of our genetic endowment of the
human nervous system. Whether or not we use it, transcending is
an inherent ability.
Of course, any discussion of the physiology of transcendence would
not be complete without discussing EEG studies. When I was doing
research for this book, I looked at a plethora of studies discussing
the affect that Transcendental Meditation has on the brain. It seems
as if, over the last 40 years, hundreds if not thousands of
experiments have been completed measuring patterns of brain wave
activity of meditating subjects. In the studies performed by Dr.
Robert Keith Wallace, he found that the Transcendental Meditation
technique demonstrated increased activity of two types of EEG
wave patterns: alpha waves, which have a frequency of about 8 -10
cycles per second, and theta waves, at around 5-7 cycles per second.
The result of all these EEG studies over the last 40 years, have
documented the emergence of four distinct EEG patterns during
Transcendental Meditation. First, an increase in theta waves in the
frontal areas of the brain. Second, the studies show an increase in
slow alpha waves also in the frontal area. Third, Dr. Wallace
documented an increase in frontal theta and slow alpha waves, and
lastly, an increase in beta wave activity. Dr. Wallace and others
suggest that these patterns are indicative of stages of transcending.
To scientists these findings are momentous because they give a
scientific basis for transcendence and the experience of
Transcendental Being.
More recently, one of the most important and useful developments
in EEG research on Transcendental Meditation has come through
the application of a new measurement, EEG coherence. According
to Dr. Wallace, EEG coherence measures the orderliness of the
The Ninth Siddhi Page 39
electrical activity of the brain and helps answer the question, Is the
activity of one area of the brain correlated with the activity of
another? These recent studies clearly show an increase in alpha
coherence during Transcendental Meditation as well as theta and
beta frequencies. More importantly, in long term meditators,
continuously strong coherence was found in all frequencies both
during meditation as well as when the meditator was involved in
activity. This finding gives credence to the idea that repeated
experiences of Transcendental Being brings about advanced states
of consciousness. Remember the dye metaphor about dipping a
cloth in dye repeatedly to set the color in the previous section on
advanced states of consciousness. This research finds that brain
wave coherence is found even after the meditator has stopped
meditating. This is scientific proof that over time the brain
maintains the experience of Transcendental Being after mediating.
A little Transcendental Being is brought into our life and stays with
us. If Transcendental Being is maintained during activity this is
called Cosmic Consciousness, an advanced state of consciousness.
Maintaining brain wave coherence even after we stop meditating is
an indication that the nervous system is changing, moving toward
an integrated and full life. These results form a principle for the
practice of the Ninth Siddhi. That is, the more we practice the Ninth
Siddhi, the more power and energy we bring to the task of
predicting/manifesting a winning number.
In addition, scientists have recently discovered that continued brave
wave coherence has a chemical effect on the body. In The Physiology
of Consciousness, Dr. Wallace and others found that during and after
meditation the stress hormone, cortisol, decreases. They also
reported an increased level of the amino acid, phenylalanine, which
suggests changes in key brain neurotransmitters. They also
investigated a pituitary hormone ADH. This hormone is associated
with improved memory. All meditators were found to have
The Ninth Siddhi Page 40
unusually high levels of this hormone substantiating other findings
that the experience of Transcendental Being improves memory and
recall.
Today the search for the biomedical basis of transcendence
continues. It is part of an attempt by scientists to uncover the
biochemical basis of higher states of consciousness. I believe that
the greatest value in this research is that it will establish a bridge
between the physiology of consciousness and the current world
view held by scientists. Already, transcendence, which powers the
practice of the Ninth Siddhi, is not a subjective claim by mystics but
a verifiable scientific fact.
The Maharishi Effect
Physical effects of continuous contact with Transcendental Being are
well established in the scientific community. Could these effects,
particularly brain wave coherence, have an effect on others? For
many years, those close to the Maharishi stated that he believed that
when a critical group of meditators meditated together they
stimulated Transcendent Being, the underlying field of pure
consciousness and created a field effect of coherence. And, that this
field effect had a marked influence not only on the group of
meditators but in the localized society. This influence on society has
come to be known as the Maharishi Effect. And, more importantly,
this field effect could be measured through various social indices
that characterize the quality of life in society, such as the reduction
of violent crime in a city.
The Maharishi explained this phenomenon in these words, The
field of pure consciousness is a non-localized field of infinite
correlation. Thus, an impulse anywhere is an impulse everywhere.
Since the collective consciousness is shared by all, one individual
transcending the surface level of excitation to this universal level of
The Ninth Siddhi Page 41
natural law can generate an influence of coherence and orderliness
in the whole society and the environment.
According to Robert Oates in The Maharishi Effect, written in 1985,
and Dr. Keith Wallace writing in The Neurophysiology of
Enlightenment, the first experimental evidence for this phenomenon
arose in 1974. In this study, scientists observed 11 cities in the
United States with populations over 10,000 in which 1% of the
population was practicing Transcendental Meditation. They then
looked at one major index of the quality of life in these cities, the
crime rate, and compared it to the crime rate of 11 other cites
matched by population and geographic location. From 1967 to 1972
the crime rate was increasing in all the cities. The cities with over
1% Transcendental Meditation participation showed a decrease in
crime of 8.2% from 1972 to 1973 as compared to the year before.
Other scientist replicated these findings. In one study scientists
examined 160 cities over a 14 year period (1964 to 1978) to
determine the long term effects on crime rate in one-percent cities.
This study and many others verified the reduction of violent crimes
when 1% of a citys population experienced Transcendental Being
regularly.
One particularly compelling study on the Maharishi Effect occurred
in Lebanon in a small village named Baskninta. The Transcendental
Meditation technique was taught to over 1% of the population in
this village which had seen armed conflict for many years. In
abrupt contrast to previous history, there was a complete cessation
of hostility in Baskninta once 1% of the population began practicing
Transcendental Meditation. The increase in love and harmony was
measured by a decrease in the number of incoming artillery shells,
property damage, and human casualties. See Roberts Oates Book
The Ninth Siddhi Page 42
titled The Maharishi Effect for details on many more studies and real
world examples of the Maharishi Effect in action.
But, why should this field effect occur. What is it about the
experience of Transcendental Being that produces these startling but
wonderful results? Many scientists believe that when we meditate,
a field much like electromagnetic radiation is produced. But unlike
electromagnetic radiation this field is developed with a force that is
more refined, more akin to light than magnetism. That is, when an
individual experiences Transcendental Being, a kind of halo effect is
generated. The rationale for this prediction came from discussions
with leading physicists concerning coherent effects seen in physical
systems, particularly the laser.
Normal light is emitted in direct proportion to the number of atoms
in the light source. When the atoms in a laser are in perfect
coherence with each other, a new type of collective behavior
emerges characterized by intense orderliness. The individual atoms
cease to act independently and begin to behave as one complete
coherent system. As a result, the light emitted by the laser is
significantly stronger than normal light. It is through coherence that
the individual atoms receive their power. The power of light
coherence is tremendous. It is powerful enough to burn through
steel or to shine a laser beam on the moon. Scientists have found
that the intensity of light emitted by a laser of X atoms is magnified
enormously to X. If 100 atoms are perfectly in phase or coherent,
they will radiate with the intensity of 100 or 10,000 times that of a
single atom. This phenomenon is physics is known as Super
Radiance.
Similarly, it is thought that when groups of meditators meditate and
experience Transcendental Being a super radiance effect is
generated. This field of super radiance is significantly more
powerful than that experienced by an individual meditator. This
The Ninth Siddhi Page 43
super radiance quality of Transcendental Being can be felt by
society at large if the number of meditators is large enough.
Consequently, scientists began to do research in this area. The focus
of the research was to see if the field effect of consciousness
stimulated by a group of meditators could affect the EEG coherence
between subjects at a large distance. Indeed, the study showed this
to be the case. Many other studies too have followed and confirmed
the idea that Transcendental Being has a halo or Super Radiance
Effect.
This is an important discovery because it offers a basis for all the
Siddhis. When we begin to discuss the importance of
Transcendental Being to the Ninth Siddhi, we will use many of
these field effect ideas to confirm our natural ability to
predict/manifest future events such as a lottery number.
The World Peace Project
If at least 1% of a citys population is meditating and experiencing
Transcendental Being daily reducing violence in the city, how many
meditators would it take to bring about a reduction of violence in
the world? In other words, is world peace possible through the
super radiance effect generated through Transcendental
Meditation? The Maharishi believes that it is possible.
In July 1986, the Maharishi unveiled his program to create world
peace, which includes a strong initiative to create large groups of
meditators on every continent and in every nation. It is believed by
the Maharishi and scientists that if a large enough group of
meditators could be taught to meditate, peace could be brought to
the world through the Global Maharishi Effect. The Maharishi set
fourth his criteria for world peace; (1) friendship between the
super powers, (2) a cease fire in the Iran-Iraq war, (3) improved
international relations, and (4) an end to terrorism. To date much
The Ninth Siddhi Page 44
progress has been made toward these goals but more meditators
need to be taught in different parts of the world to create lasting
world peace. By practicing the Ninth Siddhi, we hope to play a part
in this global effort.
In the Maharishis effort to create world peace, The Spiritual
Regeneration Movement tried to maintain thousands of meditators
around the world in hotels for extended periods of time. Sometimes
meditators stayed on one location for as long as four months, in
groups ranging from 30 to 400. Eventually, financing became an
issue. Dr. Wallace reported, the financial burden of continuing
this project became a burden. The various groups in Iran, Rhodesia,
Nicaragua, and other countries were forced to pull out.
The practice of the Ninth Siddhi will bring an integrated life as well
as an abundance of wealth and prosperity to its practitioners. This
wealth and abundance must be used in part to fund world peace.
This will occur through the concept of right action. As a matter of
fact, one of the reasons for the development of a new Siddhi by Dr.
Gopala was for the establishment of meditation centers around the
world. Through the
Global Maharishi Effect,
global peace will be
manifested.
The Ninth Siddhi
As said earlier, the
Sanskrit term Siddhi
means power or
perfection. Each Siddhi technique is a method to develop optimal
functioning (power) in some specific function of the mind.
Originally, these yogic powers were described and taught by the
great sage Patanjali, in Vedic literature called the Yog Sutras. In this
The Ninth Siddhi Page 45
ancient literature, he described eight great Siddhis. A few of the
better known of these eight Siddhis are levitation, teleportation,
realizing whatever one desires, and invisibility now called remote
viewing. In the tradition of great teachers of meditation techniques
that focus on the experience of Transcendental Being, the Maharishi
established his TM-Sidhi program focusing primary on levitation
or Yogic Flying in 1976.
As we shall see in the next sections, the Siddhis are perennial
spiritual powers discussed in the Jewish text of the Kabbalah as well
as the New Gospels of Christianity. However, the Judeo-Christian
tradition seems to have an affinity for the Siddhi powers of healing
and prophesy, in addition to the traditional eastern Siddhis. In all
the traditions of the east and west, they have the same basis in
Transcendental Being or pure consciousness. In other words, they
all work in the same manner. The Maharishi has written that, The
TM-Sidhi program uses specific techniques that enliven and
activate transcendental consciousness and develop the habit of
projecting thought and action from this simplest state of human
awareness. I believe that what the Maharishi is saying is that the
underlying field of consciousness or transcendental consciousness
can be stimulated in specific ways with observable effects such as
levitation, healing, and prophecy. In all cases, power to manifest
any of these Siddhis is made possible by an energized intention at
the very point of transcendence. The Maharishi says it beautifully,
here at the junction point of transcendence the performance of
[intention] can elicit the total organizing power of the Unified Field
[transcendental consciousness] to promote the desired effect in the
world of activity.
The literature points to the ability of specific Mantras to elicit
specific energy qualities from Transcendental Being. Its as if the
repetition of a Mantra causes a small ripple in the Unified Field of
The Ninth Siddhi Page 46
transcendental awareness. This ripple causes changes in the relative
world of activity through the energy properties discussed above, the
so called halo effect. This energy source can be used to change your
life in a positive and productive way by manifesting wealth,

The Kabbalah
The Mystical Kabbalah
The Kabbalah is a collection of Jewish scripture dating back more
than 4,000 years, concerned with a whole range of Jewish mystical
activity. One of the main books mentioned in Jewish literature as a
source for mystical endeavors is the Zohar, but others are also
mentioned such as Sefer Yetzirah, Bahir, HaMalakh among others.
According to Rabbi David Cooper writing in Kabbalah and the
practice of mystical Judaism, the central core of this mystical scripture
is that, true wisdom does not come from outside of us, but from
within. And, it does not come from within simply because we want
it. It comes when we live in a way that invites wisdom. It comes
from direct experience. He goes on to say that in the school of
Ecstatic Kabbalah, through the use of meditative techniques, the
student enters into a state of altered consciousness and receives
insight from the Unknown and Unknowable [Transcendental
The Ninth Siddhi Page 48
Being]. We believe that Rabbi Cooper is describing direct
experience of Transcendental Being through meditation, which
allows for higher states of consciousness. And, that this practice
produces the precise field effects seen in Transcendental Meditation,
such as the Maharishi Effect. In this chapter, we try to show that the
Jewish mystical tradition has fostered techniques to experience
Transcendental Being. And, when combined with eastern
meditation techniques, the Kabbalah validates the techniques for the
practitioners of the Ninth Siddhi. Perhaps more importantly, in the
Jewish tradition, we see Being flower and bloom in the Torah
validating the existence of Transcendental Being as the true Source
of Thought. Finally, seekers of truth find what they have sought.
In the 1960s, Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan published Meditation and Kabbalah.
The book is a vivid account of the teachings of Abulafia founder of
the school of Prophetic Kabbalah. Rabbi Kaplan demonstrates that
the meditative practices that were attracting many Jews to the
Maharishis Transcendental Meditation program are present in
Jewish scripture. For example, one of Abulafias simplest practices,
popularized by Rabbi Kaplan, was a meditative technique that used
the repetition of Hebrew vowels encouraging transcendence and the
experience of Transcendental Being. He says, When you practice,
you will want to sit comfortably in a place where you will not be
disturbed and allow the eyes to close. One begins with the first
letter of the Divine name. He goes on to describe breathing
techniques and other words with sacred sounds that are used as
Mantras to encourage transcendence. Some think it remarkable that
the same techniques for establishing contact with Being is the same
in the Jewish tradition as the eastern tradition. I do not. The
techniques for this divine experience are perennial to all traditions,
to all scripture, and as we shall see, even described in the New
Christian Gospels discussed in the next chapter.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 49
The Jewish Encyclopedia reports that Abulafia was one of the
earliest Kabbalists. When he was eighteen years old, his father died
and two years later Abulafia began a life of ceaseless wandering.
One of his first journeys was to Palestine, but he never arrived due
to the unrighteousness brought about by the Crusades. He traveled
throughout the Holy Lands, Spain, Italy, and Greece. In obedience
to an inner voice, he went to Rome to convert Pope Nicholas III.
According to scripture, the Pope heard of his approach and issued
orders to burn the fanatic before he reached the gates to the city.
A stake was erected close to the gate for this purpose. Fortunately
for Abulafia, the Pope succumbed to a stroke the night before his
arrival. In the turmoil of the Popes death, he was captured and
thrown into prison. He was released after a four week detention.
Next, he headed for Sicily, where scripture reports, he was received
as a prophet and Messiah. However, this claim was laid to rest in a
letter to the people of Palermo, energetically condemning Abulafias
conduct. Others were more compassionate and wrote that Abulafia
stove with all his power to guide mens mind aright in a trying
time of spiritual confusion. Finally he picked up the pilgrims staff
and settled on the small island of Comino, near Malta. Here, he
wrote his best books describing techniques to experience
Transcendental Being. After writing these profound texts, all traces
of him were lost.
Abulafia revived meditative techniques that brought about the
direct experience of Transcendental Being, just as Krishna, Buddha,
Sankara, and the Maharishi had done. Of course, the orthodox
Jewish tradition had moved on and forgotten about these teachings
until revived by Rabbi Kaplan in his book Meditation and Kabbalah.
Its true that the war torn 1960s and the transcendental movement
started by the Maharishi kick started interest in transcendence in the
Jewish community. But, nothing prepared the Jewish community
The Ninth Siddhi Page 50
for the technological revelation found in the Torah. If millions of
people were experiencing Transcendental Being before this
revelation, many more would rethink their position on the mystical
and begin earnestly meditating after a secret code was found in the
Torah. Because the Jewish community could feel comfortable
meditating and experiencing Transcendental Being within their
tradition, inspired by new technological revelations in the Torah,
millions of Jews began to contact Being regularly. For the first time
in human history, we had followers of the Kabbalah and the Torah
experiencing Transcendental Being alongside the followers of the
Bhagavad-Gita and the Upanishads. When this profound
abundance of Being entering the lives of so many is combined with
the historically recent developments in Christianity as we will see
in the next chapter - profound changes in the world are sure to
follow. We also believe that this abundance of Transcendental
Being entering the hearts and minds of so many make the Ninth
Siddhi a reasonable next step in the spiritual development of
Seekers around the world.
The Torah
The Torah is the primary Holy Scripture in Judaism. The Torah is
the name given by Jews for the first five books of the Bible: Genesis,
Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. According to
Jewish tradition, the entire Torah was dictated to Moses by God,
letter for letter, on Mt. Sinai around 1300 BCE. Since the time of
Moses, Kabbalists have held that God instructed the Jews to copy
the Torah exactly as given to Moses, letter for letter. Although they
did not understand the reason for this precision, they committed to
following this Divine instruction over thousands of years and to this
day even the smallest mark such as a serif, or decorative marking,
or repeated word are copied exactly. The Jews did not know the
reason for this Divine instruction but some had an intuitive belief
that a far greater message must extend beyond the mere words of
The Ninth Siddhi Page 51
the Torah. Some believed that in the exact sequence of letters, there
is somehow encrypted information that only a divine hand could
have placed there.
Since the time of Moses, there were hints that there was more to the
Torah than meets the eye. For example, in the eighteenth-century, a
rabbi and sage named Elijah Solomon was one of the greatest
leaders and thinkers of his time. As a child prodigy, he memorized
the entire Torah word for word. He was also accomplished in
mathematics. In addition, he was an orthodox rationalist and was
very hostile to the type of unrestrained mystical enthusiasm
sometimes seen in parts of the Kabbalah. Still, in one of his brilliant
books, he made the following claim: All that is, and will be unto
the end of time is included in the Torah, the first five books of the
Bible. This claim was completely out of touch with Elijahs past
writings and did not fit well with his orthodox thinking.
Nonetheless, Elijah continued to make it perfectly clear that he
meant it literally. He wrote, and not merely in a general sense,
but including the details of every person individually, and the
minutest details of everything that happened to him from the day of
his birth until his death
These claims were taken seriously by Elijahs peers, but they did not
go unchallenged. One day a scholar who had heard of Elijahs
claims sought an audience with him intending to put him to the test.
He asked, If, as you say, the details of everyones lives are encoded
in the Torah, then show me where I can find Rabbi Moses ben
Maimon. Rabbi Moses ben Maimon had been a 12th century
astronomer, mathematician, philosopher, and physician. Both knew
that two phrases are always linked to his name and only his name
in Jewish lore: From Moses to Moses there is no one like Moses
and the wonder of the generation. Immediately Elijah had the
scholar turn to Exodus 11:9. He had the scholar circle letters that
The Ninth Siddhi Page 52
were spaced evenly apart, sometimes up and down, sometimes on a
diagonal, until the words Moses, wanders, Egypt, in biblical Egypt, and
in medieval Egypt became apparent.
Similar accounts of sages being able to find encoded information in
the writing of the Torah can be found throughout Jewish scripture.
For example, one day Nachmanides, another prominent sage, made
a claim that all of Israels history could be found in the passages of
the Torah. One of his students thought the claim to be incredulous
and demanded that Nachmanides withdraw his extravagant
assertion. Nachmanides asked the student to test him. The student
retorted, Very well, where is my own fate spoken of in the Torah.
The sage gave directions to go to Deuteronomy chapter 32, verse 26,
and look at the third letter of each word. A chill entered the soul of
the student when he read his own name encoded in the third letter
of each word in the verse. It is written that this student became a
devotee to Nachmanides, as well as a scholar of the Torah.
In the early years of the twentieth century, Rabbi Weissmandl a
child prodigy in the Torah and mathematics began his own
investigation into the phenomenon. He became convinced that there
was indeed a hidden code in the first five books of the Bible. He
maintained a lifelong interest in this phenomenon, writing out the
entire 304,805 letter sequence of the Torah on 10 by 10 grids. In this
way, words that occur at equally spaced intervals would stand out.
His work was interrupted, however, by World War II. Nazism tore
him away from his lifelong studies. During these dreadful years of
the swelling Holocaust, his primary interest changed from codes in
the Torah to saving as many Jews as possible from the gas chambers
of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Later in life, he wrote that he believed that
if the Nazis had their way, the Torah and all its secrets would be
lost forever along with the Jewish people themselves. Mostly, he
The Ninth Siddhi Page 53
fought disbelief in his fellow Jews. Who could imagine chambers
disguised as showers into which were herded cultured citizens,
woman, and little children, all naked, all noncombatants, killed in
agony by cyanide gas. I cannot imagine the agony, the sense of loss,
the desperation when his own wife and five children were sent to
Auschwitz in a railroad cattle car. Especially knowing that
immediately upon arrival at the camp, the men would be separated
from the women and children; that they would be kept alive only to
be worked to death or to be tortured to death by Josef Mengele the
Angel of Death. Such was the suffering of the Jews by the violent
and maniacal, the wicked and unrighteous. Soon however, an
invisible force of nature would be made known to the Jews.
Transcendental Being would communicate directly through the
Torah to inspire the Jews to a new vision and reestablish lives that
fulfill mans purpose.
The early work on the Torah that Rabbi Weissmandl accomplished
set into motion a process that would eventually bring encoded
information found in the Torah fully into the light of modern day.
It was truly through divine inspiration, through Transcendental
Being, that the fascination in antiquity with Torah codes and other
ancient ciphers in the Jewish community helped win the war for the
allies and defeat the unrighteous. Throughout Jewish history this
interest in Ciphers is evident. Jeffrey Satinover, M.D., in Cracking
the Bible Code writes, The earliest explicit use of a second layer of
meaning (known in cryptology as plaintext) deliberately
embedded in a text that reads properly on the surface (called
cipher text) seems to have been by the ancient Israelites. An
excellent example of ancient crypto logic sophistication and its
intimate connection to Kabbalah, is the work of Nechunya, a sage
living in the first century AD. It is he that found in the Torah the 42
lettered name of God, the length of the lunar cycle and other time
The Ninth Siddhi Page 54
tested revelations. Throughout the next two thousand years,
Kabbalists published treatises outlining advanced ciphers based on
new theories of statistics and mathematics. Finally, in 1934, Jewish
poles quietly broke the vaunted, supposedly indecipherable
German Enigma encryption code. With this information the
British and the Americans were able to crack every update and
improvement to it, however advanced, without the Nazis ever
suspecting. So, this fascination with ciphers caused in no small part
by the suspected code in the Torah, brought about the beginning of
the end of the Third Reich. In this way, Transcendental Being
moves to correct mans vision and establish a way of life that again
will fulfill his high purpose.
Abstract for God
In 1994, Eliyahu Rips (Eli) submitted a paper to the prestigious
journal Statistical Science, titled Equidistant Letter Sequences in the
Book of Genesis. The abstract for the paper read, It has been noted
that when the book of Genesis is written as two dimensional arrays,
equidistant letter sequences spelling words with related meanings
often appear in close proximity. Quantitative tools for measuring
this phenomenon are developed. Randomization analysis shows
that the effect is significant at the level of 0.00002.
The spirit of the Torah was about to be revealed. Scientists using
computer programs on the letters of the Torah were discovering
some absolutely unbelievable coding in the first five books of the
Bible. Nothing like this had ever been found before in the history of
mankind. The fact that it took computer technology to find it only
makes the findings that much more remarkable.
On September 1, 1994, Michael Drosnin author of The Bible Codes
flew to Israel to meet with Yitzhak Rabin, then prime minister. He
carried with him a letter to be given to Yitzhak Rabin. The letter
The Ninth Siddhi Page 55
said in part that, An Israeli mathematician has discovered hidden
codes in the Bible that appear to reveal events that took place
thousands of years after the Bible was written. The reason I am
writing you about this is the only time your full name appears
encoded in the Bible, the words assassin that will assassinate crosses
your name. Mr. Drosnin went on to write, This should not be
ignored because the assassinations of Anwar Sadat and both John
and Robert Kennedy are also encoded in the Bible. In November,
1995 Yitzhak Rabin was shot in the back by a man who believed he
was on a mission from God. This murder was encoded in the Bible
three thousand years ago.
Many other examples of prophetic information have been found.
Six months before the 1992 election, the code revealed Bill Clintons
victory. Connected to Clinton was the title president. Richard
Nixon also gets mentioned in the Torah. In one of the greatest
upheavals in the American politics the word Watergate appears
with Nixon and the year 1974 the year he was forced to resign.
The great depression is encoded with the crash of the stock market.
Economic collapse and depression appear together in the Torah
with the word stock and the year it all started, 1929.
Eerily, man on moon appears with spaceship and Apollo 11.
Armstrongs words One small step for a man, one giant step for
mankind are echoed in the hidden text of the Torah. Where the
date Armstrong sets foot on the moon crosses the word moon, the
words Done by mankind, done by a man are clearly visible.
Americas entry into World War II when the Japanese unexpectedly
struck Pearl Harbor is also vividly told in the hidden code of the
Torah. Encoded with Roosevelt is his title President as well as
his December 7, 1941, declaration of war: the Code clearly states,
He gave the order to strike on the day of the great defeat. In
The Ninth Siddhi Page 56
addition, Pearl Harbor is encoded with the words destruction of
the fortress running across it. The Hawaiian naval base at Pearl
Harbor is identified as the location of the fleet. It appears with
World War, December 7
th,
and Hiroshima.
Also, where Hiroshima is spelled out, the date 1945 is found,
the same date that the atomic bomb was dropped by the Americans.
The impact of the first atomic bomb is described in the hidden text
as Hiroshima to end shooting whole world. This is found at a spot
in Genesis where the actual text reads, And it repented the Lord
that he had made man upon the earth and it grieved him at his
heart.
Lincoln is encoded twice in Genesis and Deuteronomy. Gandhi is
encoded in the Book of Exodus. I dare say my own name is in one
of the first five books of the Bible, and perhaps yours is too.
These findings were published in books and journals all around the
world, while both skeptics and seekers, wondered if it was truly
information from a transcendental source. The Bible codes needed
to be proved by the secular world of scientists, statisticians, and
mathematicians. They needed to show beyond any doubt that this
phenomenon was not possible by mere chance. So, Eliyahu Rips set
about designing a statistical model that would prove that the
technique used in the Bible codes of Equidistant Letter Sequences,
when combined with related words in close proximity, was not just
random fortuitous combinations.
Eli Rips, Doron Witztum, and Yoav Rosenberg published their
paper in Statistical Science, a prestigious peer reviewed
mathematical journal the abstract of which begins this chapter.
Their work set out to prove that the hidden information in the
Torah was not a matter of chance. The only rationale explanation of
The Ninth Siddhi Page 57
this scientific result is that the Torah must be from a transcendental
source.
That the paper was reviewed by the most influential scientists in the
world, standing up to scrutiny by the worlds best scientists, is
tribute to the statistical techniques used by Eli Rips. You see, in the
past, we only had the subjective experience of the Source of
Thought or Transcendental Being. Not all people sought out the
experience. This is the first time in recorded history that the
scientific world view has considered the basis of our thinking, the
very the nature of our mind, transcendental to activity. Today, the
scientific world looks to this transcendental reality and calls it the
Unified Field justifying its existence through a new area of science
called quantum mechanics.
War in the Gulf
In 1991 at the height of the Gulf War, work on the codes was at an
all time high. But many wondered if these codes could be used to
predict specific future events. Up until this time, codes emerged
only when you found Equal Letter Spacing (ELS) for two or more
related facts that you decided to look for with a date. If you looked
for a future event at some minimum ELS skip interval, you may
very well find it. But what then? You could find innumerable
arbitrary selected dates in reasonable close proximity to any ELS. It
is the fact that one and only one actual date appears surprisingly
close to the event that constitutes success with the Torah Codes.
This question of predicting specific dates and events in the future
became very important to the Israelis during the Gulf War.
Although the Gulf War was precipitated by Saddam Husseins
attempt to conquer Kuwait, Israel was the ultimate target. Shifts in
international alliances had placed Israel in a vulnerable situation.
The military advantage of the Israelis, lie in the element of surprise.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 58
As in 1967, the size of its enemys armies created a situation when
the only way it could win a military advantage was to strike
preemptively. But, this was impossible at the time, if Israel wanted
to preserve its alliance with the Americans and the allies. As I
remember from newscasts during this time, Israel was not only
asked not to attack first but not to defend herself if attacked. I
always thought that this was an unreasonable request beyond the
boundaries of friendship. Nonetheless, the Israelis capitulated.
Saddam had amassed a number of scud missiles on the border.
Many thought that these scuds contained biological agents. At the
time, Saddam had a huge biological weapons program established,
and he had used them before in the Iran war. At the time, it was
believed that he did not have nuclear capabilities. Consequently, all
of Israels civil defense efforts were directed toward chemical
agents. Now, gas masks are available to prevent against injury and
death when attacked with biological weapons, the sort the Israelis
were facing. So, all the men, woman, and children in the country
were issued a gas masks in preparation for the attack.
There was but one problem. The distances involved were roughly
400 miles. There was not enough time to warn the entire population
to put on the gas mask and protect themselves. Wearing a gas mask
24 hours a day was impossible too. It looked like the threat of attack
could undermine the economy and destroy the state without a shot
being fired. This unique set of circumstances created a need for one
specific piece of information, on which day would the first missile
be launched?
The Israeli intelligence service looked to the Torah and
Transcendental Being for answers. They searched for words that
were related to the events in the gulf. If a specific date did not
surface, maybe similar less restrictive dates would. The Israeli
The Ninth Siddhi Page 59
intelligence officers already had such similar dates. Perhaps, they
would match. Accordingly, the intelligence officers inputted three
likely dates, and the words related to the events in the gulf. When
the analysis was completed, all three of these dates were present in
the Torah codes. One of these dates turned out to be actual date of
the attack. Such is the eternal truth given to Moses in the Torah.
Armageddon
Throughout all of history, Jerusalem has been the most fought over
city. Conflict arose from the time King David conquered it and the
Babylonians burned it, till even when the Romans destroyed it and
the Crusaders besieged it. This 3,000 year old conflict did not end
when the Israelis took back control in 1967. Conflict continues in
Jerusalem to this day. It comes as no surprise that the only capital
in the entire world encoded in the Bible with the words atomic
holocaust, and World War is Jerusalem. The Biblical prophecy of
Armageddon seems to be confirmed in the hidden text of the Torah.
Jerusalem, the center of the worlds three major religions, where
David ruled, Jesus died, and Mohammed ascended to Heaven,
might be obliterated in a final battle brought on by religious hatred.
We cannot ignore the facts. Transcendental Being bestowed this
information to Moses letter by letter. No human being could have
placed these codes into the Torah. These codes have been
confirmed by our greatest mathematicians. This historical truth is
self evident. I believe this information communicated through
transcendental awareness is more than a warning. It may be the
information we need to prevent the predicted disaster. It is clearly
not a promise of divine salvation nor is it a threat of inevitable
doom. It is just information.
Seventeen years have passed since Mr. Drosnin found these
prophetic ideas in his now famous and insightful book. Many of his
The Ninth Siddhi Page 60
predictions did indeed come true, but many did not. Mr. Drosnin
now believes that the future is indeed encoded in the Torah. He
had correctly predicted Rabins murder and the Gulf War. But it
was not predetermined. Michael now believes the hidden text in
the Torah is a series of probabilities and many of these negative
predictions could be changed. We at the Ninth Siddhi agree. We
believe that positive change can be perpetrated through the direct
experience of Transcendental Being. Direct experience perpetrates
the super radiance effect, which has the ability to end suffering
brought about by these predicted conflicts.
Michael believes this is scientific proof that some intelligence
outside of our own does exist. We believe that the Bible codes do
not exist simply to announce the existence of the encoder. Direct
experience of the encoder is well documented in Jewish Scripture.
The Bible was encoded to sound a warning. It is a warning sent to
us by Transcendental Being. This information was meant to be
found and decoded in our computerized high tech nuclear time.
Clearly, we could not have found the codes, without the use of our
high speed computers.
Michael Drosnin says it best when he writes in The Bible Codes,
There is no way to ignore the fact that a computerized code in the
Bible, confirmed by some of the most famous mathematicians in the
world, a code that accurately predicted the Gulf war, the collision of
a comet with Jupiter, and the assassination of Rabin, also seems to
state that the Apocalypse starts now, that within a decade we may
face the real Armageddon, a nuclear war. Over the last five
thousand years, Transcendental Being has always come to the aid of
humanity to save man from suffering, not perpetrate more
suffering. I believe as Michael does that the codes provide
information we need to prevent the predicted disaster. Also
The Ninth Siddhi Page 61
encoded in the Bible just below the words, End of Days and
Atomic Holocaust are the words Code will save.
The Ninth Siddhi and the Torah
The basis of the Ninth Siddhi is well documented in Jewish
scripture. The Kabbalah directs us to many saintly sages that
taught the benefits of direct experience of Transcendental Being.
This fact alone should inspire all of us to practice the Ninth Siddhi
to bring health and wealth to ourselves and peace to the world
through the Maharishi effect. The greatness of Judaism is that
Transcendental Being speaks directly to this nation through one of
mankinds holiest of books, the Torah. The realization that
mathematicians have shown that the Torah has hidden information
that can be used by man, has inspired even the most orthodox
Rabbis to quietly whisper a song of sacred sounds. The
understanding that Transcendental Being communicates to us
directly through the Torah has produced an out flowing of Being
into the hearts and minds of all seekers on a global scale. When we
combine the outflow of Being resulting from this new
understanding of the Torah, with the millions of new initiates
meditating in the tradition of the Spiritual Regeneration Movement,
we begin to see the magnitude of this flow. Never before has this
quantity and quality of Being been drawn into the hearts and minds
of men and woman. In the next chapter, we will see that this holy
river of Transcendental Being is joined by the revival of Being in the
new Christian Gospels.

what you bring forth will save you.
If you do not bring forth what is within you,
what you do not bring forth will destroy you.
The Gospel According to Thomas
The New Christian Gospels
The Nag Hammadi Find
In August of 1945, just after over six million innocent lives were
sacrificed at the altar of the Third Reich, during the final stages of
World War II, the Americans bombed the cities of Hiroshima and
Nagasaki with nuclear weapons. This was the first and last time
nuclear weapons were ever used on civilian populations. It is
estimated that over 250,000 additional souls were lost on those two
days of infamy. In December of the same year 1945, an Arab
peasant in Upper Egypt found in a red earthenware jar thirteen
papyrus books bound in leather now called the Gnostic Gospels.
These gospels now shed new light on the early days of the Christian
Church and document that Jesus Christ taught that direct
The Ninth Siddhi Page 63
experience of Transcendental Being is the corner stone of Christian
spirituality. The finding of these gospels started a revival in
Transcendentalism among Christians. The fact that these gospels
were found at the beginning of the end of World War II is not an
accident. As the Maharishi Doctrine professes, when suffering and
unrighteousness grow an invisible force of nature moves to correct
mans vision and establish a way of life which again will fulfill the
high purpose of his existence.
The discovery of the Gnostic Gospels by an Egyptian named
Muhammad Ali, near the town of Nag Hammadi, was quite
surprising considering he was not looking for them. Elaine Pagels
tells this story so eloquently in her book titled The Gnostic Gospels,
Muhammad Ali, in the year of 1945, shortly before he and his
brother avenged their fathers murder in a blood feud, had saddled
their camels and gone into the desert to look for a soft soil called
sabakh that they used to fertilize their crops. Digging around a
massive boulder, they hit a red earthenware jar that was almost a
meter high. Muhammad Ali hesitated to break the jar, thinking that
it might contain a jinn (A supernatural creature in Arab folklore and
Islamic teaching that occupy a parallel world to that of Mankind).
But, realizing that it might also contain gold, he raised his fist and
smashed the jar. Inside he found thirteen papyrus books.
Returning home with the fertilizer and papyrus, he piled the
papyrus books next to leaves and straw that was always kept next
to the oven. Muhammad Alis mother admits to using some of the
papyrus and straw to kindle the fire. Later, when they heard their
fathers enemy was nearby, Muhammad and his brother seized the
opportunity and hacked off his limbs, ripped out his heart, and
devoured it as the ultimate act of blood revenge. During this blood
feud, not much attention was given to the papyrus being used as
kindling.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 64
Before all the books were lost to the flames of the oven, a history
teacher friend of the family asked if he might take a couple of the
books to Cairo to find out their worth, if any. Once the find was
made public and news of these new gospels began to spread, 30
years of arguing over ownership rights ensued. Court case followed
court case while the scientists and scholars waited on the sidelines.
Finally, in the 1970s, copies of these writing were made available to
scientists and scholars, Elaine Pagels being one of the original
Coptic translators.
Mohammad Ali admitted in interviews that some of the texts were
lost, either burned or blown away. But what remained is
astonishing. In total there were 52 texts from the early centuries of
the Christian era, including a collection of gospels previously
unknown to the world. Elaine Pagels elaborates, Besides the
complete Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of Philip the find included
the Gospel of Truth, and the Gospel to the Egyptians which identifies
itself as the sacred book of the great invisible Spirit. Another
group of writings consists of texts attributable to Jesus
followers such as The Secret Book of James, the Apocalypse of Paul and
the Letters of Peter to Phillip, Apocalypse of Peter and The Testimony of
Truth as well as The Dialogue of the Savior.
These scriptures shed a different light on Christianity. It is a light
that once again embraces contact with Being as the basis of spiritual
life. In one of the scriptures, mysteriously titled Thunder, Perfect
Mind a poem is spoken in the voice of the feminine divine power
extolling the qualities of transcendence:
For I am the first and the last.
I am the honored one and the scorned one.
I am the whore and the holy one
The Ninth Siddhi Page 65
I am the wife and the virgin
I am the barren one, and many are her sons
I am the silence that is incomprehensible.
I am the utterance of my name.
It soon became clear to the scholars and scientists, that these texts
were Coptic translations made about 400 AD of still more ancient
manuscripts. There is little debate about the dating of the
manuscripts. Examination of the papyrus used to thicken the
leather bindings, and the Coptic script place them at around 350-400
AD. But, scholars disagree about the dating of the original texts.
Professor Helmut Koester of Harvard University suggests that some
of these Gospels could be older than the Gospels of the New
Testament, possibly as early as the second half of the first
century. That would be as early or earlier than Mark, Matthew,
Luke, and John.
All in all, these diverse texts range from secret gospels to poems,
from philosophic descriptions of the origins of the universe to
instruction for the experience of transcendence.
Gnosis: Self Knowledge
Before discussing how the knowledge, wisdom, and experience of
Transcendental Being was lost to Christians for the last 1600 years,
lets explore more precisely what it means to be Gnostic and what
the Christian scholars mean by Gnostic Gospels. I believe it to be the
same teachings given to Arjuna by Krishna on the field of Dharma
5000 years ago. I believe it to be the same teaching given to us by
Abulafia founder of the Prophetic Kabbalah. I believe it to be the
same teaching imparted by Creative Intelligence in the Torah.
According to Theodotus, a Gnostic teacher writing in the new
Gospels, gnosis involves an intuitive process of knowing oneself.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 66
To know oneself is to know true human nature and true human
destiny. To the Christian Gnostic, to know oneself at the deepest
level is to know Transcendental Being, this is the secret of gnosis.
Another Gnostic teacher writing about the same time named
Monoimus wrote,
Look for him by taking yourself as the
starting point. Learn who it is within
you who makes everything his own and
says, My God, my mind, my thought,
my soul, my body. Learn the source of
sorrow, joy, love, hateIf you carefully
investigate these matters you will find
him in yourself.
Further investigation into the meaning of gnosis leads to the real
words of Jesus. Elaine Pagels writes, These living scriptures [the
Gnostic gospels] portray Jesus as one who speaks of illusion and
enlightenment, not of sin and repentance as portrayed in the New
Testament. Instead of coming to save us from sin, he comes as a
guide who opens access to spiritual understanding.
Today, as in antiquity, orthodox Christians believe that Jesus is Lord
and Son of God in a unique way. That is, He remains forever
distinct from the rest of humanity whom he came to save. Yet, the
Gnostic Gospel of Thomas relates a story that when Thomas met
Jesus, he instantly recognized him. Jesus says to Thomas that they
have received their Being from the same source.
In the Gospel of Thomas Jesus says, I am
not your master. Because you have drunk,
The Ninth Siddhi Page 67
you have become drunk from the same
bubbling stream which I have measured
outHe who will drink from my mouth will
become as I am. I myself shall become he and
the things that are hidden will be revealed to
him.
In these gospels, Jesus and his followers teach that experience of
Transcendental Being is the basis of Christian teaching. This is the
most important point made by Gnostics throughout these new
gospels.
Christian Gnostics acknowledged that pursuing Self Knowledge or
Transcendental Being engages each person in a solitary and difficult
process against some internal resistance. They characterize this
resistance to transcendence as the desire to sleep or to be drunk or
in other words, to remain unaware of Self or Being.
Jesus, who says elsewhere in the Gospel of Thomas that I am the
knowledge of the truth declares that when he came into the world:
I found them all drunk; I found none of
them thirsty. And my soul became afflicted
for the sons of men, because they are blind in
their hearts and do not have sight; for empty
they came into this world and empty they
seek to leave this world. But for the moment
they are drunk.
Thus, in these glorious texts found by Mohammad Ali and
translated by Dr. Pagels, Jesus looks at his people and declares that
they do not look within for salvation. They do not recognize
themselves as divine because they do not seek self-knowledge.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 68
In the same Gospel of Thomas, Jesus makes clear his affinity for
teaching transcendence, Jesus said:
If you bring forth what is within you,
what you bring forth will save you.
If you do not bring forth what is within you,
what you do not bring forth will destroy you.
Other examples of Christs teaching the virtues of Transcendence
abound in these insightful gospels. In another example from the
Gospel of Thomas Jesus ridiculed those who thought the Kingdom of
God was a literal place. Jesus says in a long discourse, If those
who lead you say to you look the Kingdom is in the sky, the birds
will arrive before you. If they say to you It is in the sea, the fish will
arrive before you.
Jesus said,
Rather the Kingdom is inside of you, and
it is outside of you. When you come to
know yourselves, then you will be known,
and you will realize that you are the sons
of the living Father. But if you will not
know yourself, then you will dwell in
poverty and it is you who are that
poverty.
Lastly, in the Gospel of Philip, the author argues that the teachings of
Christ were not to be taken literally. He argues that these teachings
were carved in a language of internal transformation. In the light of
Gnosticism, he continues that whoever perceives divine reality
becomes what he sees. I found this quote from Gospel of Phillip in
Dr Pagels The Gnostic Gospels, to be particularly telling:
The Ninth Siddhi Page 69
You saw the spirit, you became the spirit
You saw Christ, you became Christ
You saw the Father, You shall be the Father
You see yourself, and what you see you shall
become.
Realization of the Potential
After confirming contact with Being as a center post for early
Christian belief, Dr. Pagels turns her attention to other texts
discovered at Nag Hammadi to find specific techniques used as
tools to gain contact with Being. Many sources are noted but my
favorite is the Book of Zostrianos. This is the longest text in the Nag
Hammadi library and tells specifically how one spiritual master
obtained enlightenment. Zostrianos writes that first he had to rid
himself of physical desire through ascetic practices. Second, he had
to reduce the chaos in the mind with meditation. Then he says
after I set myself straight I saw the perfect child a vision of
divine presence [Transcendental Being]. According to the text,
Zostrianos went on to have many experiences and visions,
encouraging us to be seekers as well. He asks, Why are you
hesitating? Seek when you are sought; when you are invited,
listenLook at the light. Flee the darkness. Do not be led astray to
your destruction.
Dr. Pagels writes other Gnostic sources offer more specific
directions. The Discourse on the Eighth and Ninth discloses an order of
tradition that guides the initiate to higher Self knowledge. The
book opens with the initiate reminding his spiritual master of a
promise:
O my father, yesterday you promised me
that you would bring my mind into the
eight and afterwards you would bring me
The Ninth Siddhi Page 70
into the ninth. You said that this is the
order of tradition.
His teacher responds with passion and understanding, O my son
indeed this is the order. But the promise was made in accordance
with human nature. He explains that the initiate himself must
bring forth the understanding he seeks. The initiate is astonished. Is
the power then actually within him? The student has already
progressed through the first seven levels of understanding, but
while compelled by his undying morals and dedication, he admits
he has no firsthand experience of Divine Knowledge. The teacher
and initiate join in prayer to the perfect and invisible one to whom
one speaks to in silence. The book goes on to describe a meditation
technique using chants of words and vowels to encourage
transcendence. Later, the teacher prays, Lordacknowledge the
spirit that is in us and enters into an ecstatic state while continuing
to speak to the student. Dr. Pagels in The Gnostic Gospels continues
the dialog of the teacher while in his ecstatic state, quoting directly
from The Discourse on the Eighth and Ninth:
..I see! I see indescribable depths. How
shall I tell you, O my son?...How shall I
describe the universe? I am mind and I see
another mind, the one that moves the soul. I
see the one that moves me from pure
forgetfulness. You give me power! I see
myself! I want to speak! Fear restrains me. I
have found the beginning of the power that is
above all powers, the one that has no
beginning. I have said, O my son, that I am
mind. I have seen! Language is not able to
reveal this. For the entire eighth, O my son,
and the souls that are in it, and the angels,
The Ninth Siddhi Page 71
sing a hymn in silence. And I, Mind
understand.
Later in this revealing book, the student filled with ecstasy replies,
I rejoice, O my father, because I see you smiling. And the universe
rejoices. The Master, in reply, tells him to sing in silence, and to
ask what you want in silence.
And so we find the basis of the Ninth Siddhi in the dialog between
Master and disciple in The Discourse on the Eighth and Ninth. To sing
in silence is a very poetic way of describing the experience of pure
awareness or transcendental awareness and the direct experience of
Transcendental Being. When the Master commands ask what you
want in silence. This command is the basis of the Ninth Siddhi: to
visualize an energized intention near the Source of Thought.
Dr. Elaine Pagels gives more examples describing specific
techniques used to experience Transcendental Being or Gnosis in
the chapter titled Gnosis: Self-Knowledge as Knowledge of God in her
remarkable book The Gnostic Gospels. As she explains in another
extraordinary Gnostic text called Allogenes, translated literally it
means one from another race. We think it refers to the spiritually
mature person experiencing [Cosmic Consciousness] as described in
the chapter on the Bhagavad-Gita. If we remember from that section,
Cosmic Consciousness is the fifth state of consciousness, one that
allows the initiate to experience Transcendental Awareness while
involved in activity. It is a state of mind in which Being is
experienced as a silent witness during daily activity. After a long
discourse to his initiates, Allogenes gives testimony to a vision of
the feminine power Youel who belongs to all the glories who told
him:
The Ninth Siddhi Page 72
Since your instruction has become
complete, and you have known the
good that is within you, hear now
concerning the Triple Power those
things that you will guard in great
silence and great mystery.
As Dr. Pagels explains in detail, the Triple Power is a holy power
that is obtained through a meditative technique that includes the
intoning of sound. In The Gnostic Gospels, Dr. Pagels lists these
intoned sounds or Mantras and reports that in the actual Allogenes
text specific instruction is given. However, Gnostic teachers like
Allogenes usually reserved their secret instruction, sharing it only
verbally, to ensure each candidates suitability to receive it. This is
the same instruction given by the Maharishi in modern times
concerning individualized attention and the gift of a personalized
Mantra.
Again, in early Christian scripture, we see the awareness and
development of the Ninth Siddhi. The initiate is instructed to
meditate using a tone or Mantra in order to receive a holy power or
Siddhi.
The Brotherhood of the Cross
When reflecting on early Christian scripture, in the light of the
Ninth Siddhi, a nagging question always seems to dishearten us.
Why where Christians denied this wisdom and knowledge for the
last 1,700 years? Clearly, all the wisdom and knowledge of
transcendence is presented in these early Christian texts. Also
present is the wisdom and knowledge of transcendence reported by
Jewish Gnostic sages. Why where Christians denied this path to an
integrated life? Why Christians were denied knowledge of the
direct experience of Transcendental Being?
The Ninth Siddhi Page 73
Perhaps we should look first to the Maharishi for the answer to this
question. In the Preface to his translation and commentary of the
Bhagavad-Gita, he reflects on the longevity of this great teaching
through the ages. On average, the teaching that an integrated life
could be obtained and the understanding of ones Self realized
including the Holy Gifts or Siddhis, only lasts approximately 300
years. Lord Krishna states that the long lapse of time is the
reason for such loss of wisdom. The teaching of Krishna, Buddha,
Shankara, and the Gnostic teaching of Jesus all seem to have faded
in within 300 years. Only to be found again in our present time, by
the Maharishi, the Bible Codes and a man named Muhammad, in a
cave in Egypt, at the beginning of the end of a World War.
Dr. Pagels is not as amicable about the loss of transcendental
wisdom. She believes the early Orthodox Catholic Church, the so
called Brotherhood of the Cross, was the principal reason for the
destruction of these early documents and the killing of the early
Gnostic followers of Christ. She cites many Gnostic philosophers
and practitioners whose writings were burned. These early
Christian Gnostics were turned over to the Romans by the orthodox
to be scourged and fed to the beasts in the arena as entertainment
for the citizens of Rome.
In the absence of the moon, the stars take over and provide as much
light as possible. When Christs teaching of this high ideal - contact
with Transcendental Being - disappeared from sight, others came to
uphold the path to transcendence without its proper basis in Being.
People followed them and many devotional sects arose
compassionately singing that someday our prayer will be heard.
All these sects held that devotion and suffering are the last stages of
the initiates achievement. But the early Gnostic followers of Christ
believed that the primary basis of Christian spirituality was
The Ninth Siddhi Page 74
founded on the experience of Being, through meditation and not
suffering or even faith. Consequently, seekers of Being remained
seeking without guidance, and lovers of Being remained weeping
without finding.
Eventually, these sects formed a Canon (the four gospels of the New
Testament), a Creed (based on the teaching of the Apostles) and an
organization based on the Roman military hierarchy. Soon, the new
church was institutionalized and the church became responsible for
its followers salvation, not Gnosis or self knowledge or direct
experience. Most unfair was that once Christianity became an
institutional religion, any ideas contrary to the churchs Canon and
Creed came to be labeled Heresy. Any ideas which supported it
became orthodox. In this way the Gnostic message was erased
from the minds of Christians for 1,700 years until revealed by
Muhammad Ali in the sands of Egypt.
The Ninth Siddhi and the New Christianity
Muhammad Ali says he hesitated to break the jar containing the
early Christian scriptures, because the jar might contain a jinn, a
supernatural creature in Arab folklore. In Islamic teaching, jinns
occupy a parallel world to that of mankind. He did not find Jinn. He
did, however, find a strong spirit. He found the true spirit of
Christianity. And, this spirit changes everything for the modern
Christian. Muhammad could not have imagined the implications of
his accidental find that day at Nag Hammadi. Had they been found
1,000 years earlier, they most certainly would have been burned as
heresy and blasphemy. Fortunately, they remained hidden until
today, when the worlds cultural experience gives all men and
woman a new perspective on the issues these Gnostic gospels raise.
Only today, do we have the capability to even consider this type of
knowledge and wisdom. Only in these modern times can we even
The Ninth Siddhi Page 75
discuss the magnitude and wonder of the Ninth Siddhi without
persecution.
Does the knowledge that the experience of Transcendental Being as
taught by Jesus Christ, commit Christians to use the techniques
discussed in the Ninth Siddhi to manifest wealth, abundance, and
world peace? Once presented with the tools and technology to
make world peace a reality through the Maharishi Effect, do we
have a responsibility to act, to do our duty as soldiers of peace?
The Ninth Siddhi is old school technology, brought to the forefront
of our culture by science, to bring about change in the world. Peace
will never be obtained on the level of relative existence. In todays
world it will only be obtained through the halo of the Maharishi
Effect. As soldiers of peace we should take the next step in our
evolution and practice the Ninth. By learning this skill of specific
prophecy, we enliven our souls with Being, live a life of right
action, and bring peace and prosperity to the world.

that serene and blessed mood
In which the affections gently lead us on,
Until, the breath of this corporal frame
And even the motion of our human blood
Almost suspended, we are laid to sleep

While with an eye made quiet by the power
Of harmony and the deep power of joy,
We see into the life of things.

Globalization of Being
The Trinity of Peace
The Maharishi Doctrine states that when suffering and
unrighteousness grows an invisible force of nature moves to correct
mans vision and establish a way of life which again will fulfill the
high purpose of mans existence. This invisible force of nature is
the natural result of Being manifesting in the hearts and minds of
The Ninth Siddhi Page 77
humanity, offsetting suffering and unrighteousness. Perhaps,
because of the great loss of innocent life during the Second World
War, Being today is manifesting in abundance on a global scale.
This globalization of Being is meaningful to the practitioners of the
Ninth Siddhi, but in addition to signaling a time of revival, it also
signals a time of great spiritual turmoil.
If we think of Being as a great river of bliss, love, and peace, then
today it is fed by three tributaries each a broken seal of prophecy.
The first is the manifestation of Being produced by the Spiritual
Regeneration Movement. This movement is responsible for millions
of meditators that otherwise would not be experiencing
Transcendental Being today. Second, the stunning
acknowledgment by Rabbis and scientists that Transcendental
Being has coded information in the Torah for us to use and employ.
This acknowledgement has even the most orthodox Rabbi searching
inward whispering sacred sounds to encourage transcendence. And
third, the great truth found in the New Christian Gospels that in the
early days of the Christian Church Jesus taught the wisdom and
knowledge of Transcendence. Now, millions of Christians can
experience Transcendental Being and not be fearful they are
performing an act not taught or encouraged by Christ. Why is this
trinity of peace important to us today?
First, this phenomenon, this trinity of peace, is historically notable.
Never before in the history of Mankind has Being manifested from
three distinctly different cultures. Considering that past revivals
took place over thousands of years, the fact that three revivals of
Transcendental Being should take place in a decade is remarkable.
And third, a revival of this magnitude, has never taken place on a
global basis.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 78
We have seen great upheavals of Being in India as Krishna notes,
but his teaching was taught on a regional basis, not global. Buddha
taught the same great message, but only to the east and not on a
global basis. Finally, Christ taught the virtues of transcendence, but
only for a few hundred years before these teachings were lost to the
orthodox and not taught on a global basis. In the last 5,000 years,
humanity has not witnessed an abundance of Being the likes of
which we are witnessing today. Reflecting on the power of the
super radiance effect, we could speculate that if past revivals lasted
300 years each, then todays three revival should last 900 to 1000
years.
For the practitioners of the Ninth Siddhi, this abundance of Being is
an advantage and should be fully employed. This abundance of
Being hones our Mantric tools allowing easier access to the Source
of Thought and more specific placement of our energized intention
for abundance, prophecy, and peace. Another way an abundance of
Being helps the Ninth Siddhi and other techniques that teach super
normal skills is through the Super Radiance Effect. If we increase
the amount of Being in the world, then we increase the effect Being
has on the world 10,000 times for the amount increased. This fact
suggests it is easier for meditators to attain the proper brain
coherence while meditating. It would also make it easier to
transcend and experience Transcendental Being. Consequently, this
time period, a period of great revival, possibly the greatest revival
of Being in the history of mankind, is the perfect time for meditators
to take the next step and practice The Ninth Siddhi.
Chapter 1, Verse 1, Line 1
Given the magnitude of Being in the world today, why has violence
not been eliminated? We have made progress. The Trinity of Peace
has helped reduce violence. Over the last 60 years, violence and
unrighteousness has been reduced, from World Wars that killed
The Ninth Siddhi Page 79
tens of millions of innocent souls to regional wars killing tens of
thousands. But violence primarily in the Middle East persists. The
Maharishis comments on Chapter 1, Verse 1, Line 1 of the
Bhagavad-Gita may offer some insight:
A high degree of concentration of
negative forces, without positive forces to
balance them, ends in suffering and
destruction of life. Similarly, a high
degree of concentration of positive forces
fails
to maintain life in its normal state.
The life of an individual under the
influence of increasing positive forces
enters into a field of increasing happiness
and is eventually transformed into bliss-
consciousness in which state it gains the
status of cosmic existence, eternal life. In
this way, we find that the increase of
negative forces ends in passivity or
extinction of life, whereas the increase of
positive forces results in life eternal.
Destruction and birth, good and evil, Right Action and
unrighteousness each play a role as creation moves life forward on
the field of Dharma. Possibly one of the messages from the Gita is
that negative forces will persist throughout time. We will never be
completely free from violence as the positive and negative forces
shape the destiny of life.
A Lullaby for Mary
The positive and negative forces of life shaped the destiny of Mary
during the days of the living Christ. During the time that Christ
walked the earth, he produced a significant Super Radiance Effect
The Ninth Siddhi Page 80
similar to todays abundance of Being. To show the tremendous
power of an energized intention set close to the Source of Thought
by a group in a time of great revival, look to the passion of Mary. In
the early Christian gospels, Mary Magdalene was an apostle of
Christ. She was strong of spirit but weak of flesh. The new gospels
state that Jesus healed her from disease.
In the process of healing Mary, some amount of the healing quality
of Transcendental Being remained with Mary. This should not be
surprising since we know that residual Being remains in our hearts
and minds after every meditation. But in this case, since Jesus had
perfected all the major and minor Siddhis, the Super Radiance Effect
was palpable. In the act of healing Mary, Jesus created a state of
consciousness in Mary that allowed her to maintain Transcendental
Being while involved in activity. That is, during sleep and waking
state, she maintained contact with transcendental awareness. This
state of consciousness is defined in the Bhagavad-Gita as Cosmic
Consciousness. In this way, she became a healer and practiced
priestly rites. Consequently, she became one of Christs favored
apostles along with Thomas for whom Christ said, I am not your
Master meaning Thomas had attained Self awareness just like
Mary.
But not all the apostles had the experience of Transcendental Being.
The Gospel of Philip relates this story about Jesus and Mary
Magdalene.
the companion of the Savior is Mary
Magdalene. But Christ loved her more
than all the disciples and used to kiss her
often on her mouth. The rest of the
disciples were offended..They said to
Christ, Why do you love her more than
The Ninth Siddhi Page 81
all of us? The living Jesus answered and
said to them, Why do I not love you as I
love her?
Thus, the war against the feminine began in the Orthodox Church.
Never again would women be given tribute, priestly rites, or honor
within the Church. These misunderstandings that Gods love is
someplace outside of our own hearts, outside of our own
experience, breeds jealousies, resentment, treachery, deceit,
covetousness, and enviousness. These negative forces fester until
fear and hatred matures into blood torn flesh, bloody feuds, and
the extinction of life. Pope Gregory I the Father of Christian
Worship so angry and
hateful that God loved
Mary more wrote her into
history as a prostitute, a
whore and an unholy
woman. Approximately 600
years after Pope Gregory,
the Orthodox established the
Court of the Inquisition. The
most intuitive woman, the
midwives, and healers,
possibly the most spiritually
gifted of Gnostic woman,
were labeled heretics and hundreds of thousands were killed at the
hands of the Brotherhood. These killings were brutal, bloody, and
torturous often times administered in public. It was as if the
Brotherhood of the Cross were trying to exorcise the natural gifts
of healing and prophecy out of the souls of these radiant spirits.
Such was the agony and passion of Mary.
The Ninth Siddhi Page 82
Today, The Ninth Siddhi sings a perfect song of love to all those
who in the past were labeled prostitutes, whores, and unholy
women. To all the misunderstood and abused, practice the Ninth
Siddhi. Turn your attention inward toward Bliss, love, and peace.
Regain your tribute, exercise your priestly rites, and return your
honor. Live with a dignity Mary never saw.
The Last Tearful Conflict
As seers write in the classical language of Sanskrit bringing us
wisdom and knowledge of our destiny, the last tearful conflict is
written in the language of the Hebrews. In a wolf cub dream, an
actor descends to witness two brothers standing, belly to belly, chin
to chin, in argument. One brother is chosen and spoken to by God.
He is to be freed from slavery, freed from suffering at the hands of
the unrighteous, and promised a new land of wealth, prosperity,
and peace. The other brother is not chosen. The not chosen shouts
God loves you more. Thus began the conflict in the Middle East,
which persists to this day.
Conflicts arising from an individuals or a peoples loss of contact
with Being, which brings into ones life Bliss, love and peace, are
difficult to settle in the relative world or the world of the ego. These
thoughts and feelings about the love of God manifest from thoughts
and feelings, close to the Source of Thought and are, as the practice
of the Ninth Siddhi and Marys Lullaby show, eternally powerful.
These conflicts will never be settled in the sphere of relative
existence. In the case of the Middle East, no amount of diplomacy
will suffice. No army is large enough to change the hearts and
minds of men felt slighted by God. Forgiveness will not work since
no sin was committed; only a misunderstanding about the nature of
Gods love. The Ninth Siddhi has one reasonable solution. Practice
the Ninth Siddhi and allow the Maharishi Effect to, if not eliminate
The Ninth Siddhi Page 83
violence, lessen the brutality of the final conflict and extend the time
of revival. However, there may be another final solution.
A Principal of Peace
Today, as the Arab spring blossoms and tyrants fall from grace to be
replaced by Brothers of Faith, a solution may be unfolding. As the
delta of the Holy River of Being fed by the Trinity of Peace solidifies
in the desert of the Middle East, a final solution may be at hand. In
past revivals the torrent of Being has never been so swift, its
expanse never so great, its domain never more influential while
unrighteousness and chaos prevailed. The Maharishi doctrine states
that when suffering and unrighteousness grows an invisible force of
nature moves to correct mans vision. Could a spiritual leader
emerge in the Middle East to show the correct path to
righteousness? Will a Principal of Peace emerge born of the
abundance of Being in the world today. Is this the final peaceful
solution?

CHAPTER 6
According to the Maharishi Ayur-ved, it is
primordial sound that structure and direct all
matter and energy. They are the basic impulses of
natural law that are responsible for all creation.
Like seeds about to sprout, these impulses of
natures intelligence are not yet manifest, but are
vibrating within themselves, forming the dynamic,
self referral fabric of the Unified Field. This
unmanifest fabric of primordial sound is the basis
of our own physiology of consciousness.

The Unified Field
Dr. John Hagelin, world renowned quantum physicist and director
of the Transcendental Meditation program in the United States,
offers his Unified Field insights in an online course titled
The Ninth Siddhi Page 85
Foundations of Physics and Consciousness - Discovery of the Unified Field
and its practical applications for perfection in life.
In the past, Dr. Hagelin conducted pioneering research at CERN (the
European Center for Particle Physics) and SLAC (the Stanford Linear
Accelerator Center). He is responsible for the development of a highly
successful Unified Field Theory, which was even featured on the cover of
Discover Magazine.
Dr. Hagelin is also the chief administrator for Maharishis Spiritual
Regeneration Movement programs in the United States. People who
have heard Dr. Hagelin speak are fascinated by his explanations of
the relationship between consciousness and the Unified Field, and
