National Cadet League 2013-2014 Day 4 23rd March

As expected, Stroud A ended this years NCL as clear Division 1 champions wining all three matches to finish 16 points clear of second place Cleeve & Claverham. Ben Glover maintained his 100% record to finish at the top the averages along with team mate Owen Bury. Emily Philp made a welcome return after injury to pick up 6 points out of 9 and 10 year old Stan Shilton, moving up from up from Division 2, showed what great progress he has made this year winning 5 of his 9 matches Stroud B did just enough to win Division 2 by a single point from Cheltenham. With a 6 point lead from day 3, it always going to be touch and go without Stan Shilton but the team was well led by Harry Prescott with 8 wins from his 10 matches and he was well supported by Brandon Keveren with 4 wins and newcomer Finton Gleeson with a valuable 3 points. KLB improved on their day 3 performance drawing 3-3 with Cirencester and narrowly losing 2-4 to Ferndale and Stroud but it wasnt enough to lift them off the bottom of the table. Michael Barnes was once again his teams mainstay with 5 wins out of 8. Richard Ainsley with 2 wins and 10 year old Naomi Culpeppper, making an impressive debut with 2 wins, were the other points scorers.
