Erikson felt that much of life is preparing for the middle adulthood
stage and the last stage is recovering from it. Perhaps that is because
as older adults we can often look back on our lives with happiness
and are content, feeling fulfilled with a deep sense that life has
meaning and we've made a contribution to life, a feeling Erikson
calls integrity. Our strength comes from a wisdom that the world is
very large and we now have a detached concern for the whole of life,
accepting death as the completion of life.
On the other hand, some adults may reach this stage and despair at
their experiences and perceived failures. They may fear death as they

going back to adolescence) and end with a strong dogmatism that
onlyy their view has been correct.
The significant relationship is with all of mankind — "my-kind."

EXPERIÊNCIA E PRUDÊNCIA
What is prudence? It is the ability to grasp the unique
pattern of a specific situation. It is the ability to absorb the
vast flow of information and still discern the essential
current of events — the things that go together and the
things that will never go together. It is the ability to
engage in complex deliberations and feel which arguments
h
have the
h most weight.h
How is prudence acquired? Through experience. The
prudent leader possesses a repertoire of events, through
personal involvement or the study of history,
history and can
apply those models to current circumstances to judge what
is important and what is not, who can be persuaded and
who can
can’tt, what has worked and what hasn hasn’tt.

Organizações em que as pessoas aumentam continuamente a
sua capacidade de criação de resultados que
verdadeiramente pretendem, onde novos e vastos padrões
primeiro tocou na orelha grande e achatada do elefante. Para a frente e para trás. O elefante é como um leque!
exclamou. O segundo tocou nas patas do elefante. – É como uma árvore – afirmou.
- Não, Não. – disse o quinto sábio – É semelhante a uma alta muralha. – Tinha tocado no flanco do elefante. O
sexto tinha pegado na tromba.
tromba – Estais enganados,
enganados - disse – o elefante é como uma serpente.

- Serpente!
- Muralha!
- Estais enganados!
- Tenho razão!
Os seis cegos continuaram por uma hora a gritar uns com os outros e não conseguiram descobrir
como era o elefante.
