An update on our projects Didi Foundation Womens Health Clinic---AN AWSOME EFFORT

The WOW factor goes to Didi Foundation Nepal and Kathmandus District Development Office and the local volunteers who showed up to support this amazing womens support program. 389 (135 more than costed for) women attended and participated in our medical check-up at the Malpani Health Centre and were treated to: breast examination, pap smear (follow up-s in two weeks), sugar test, protein/urine test and were offered some free medicines for problems such as thrush and fever, diarrhoea, iron and worming tablets and vitamin B complex 29 third degree prolapse rings were inserted 18 prolapse rings were replaced After our amazing response, we still need to raise $940 to cover the extra pap smears and clinical tests. BUY A CLINICAL TEST--CAMPAIGN is now running to help us meet the shortfall. How fantastic are our photos on Facebook, they received a great response. I am so proud of what The Didi Foundation Inc ---alias all my friends who financially contributed are doing for women of the world. We now just need a little more support to fund the extra examinations. 100% of your dollar goes to one women. Due to Bimala (our house mum) going back to her village for a few days and leaving us Home Alone I have not been as hands on with our women projects as much as I would have liked to but the kids go back to school tomorrowYIPPPPPEEEE. This will free me up to do a lot more work with the womens projects. So I thought I would bring you up to speed on what we are up too. The Sewing School is running smoothly and the girls are happy with their teacher and are all working on their indvidual projects and we have the advanced class going with a few students. The women still attend sewing class in the morning and literacy and numeracy in the afternoon. Jenny Aubrey set up patterns and instructions for the women to make fleecy track suit pants and our volunteer guests, Leoni, Louise and Cheryl are trying to instruct the girls on how to make the track suits..the outcome will be very interesting. The Homework Club we sponsor for Srijansil Orphanage was very successful with four of the students in the top places in the classes at the Ghandi Government

School. So for the cost of $25 a month the rewards are great. We took a whole stack of clothes, soft toys and toys for them the other day and all was greatly appreciated. Secret Women's Business I am preparing a separate catch-up email for 'Secret Women's Business' as it is a little more involved. We were able to bring over heaps of medical supplies and equipment that was donated by some very generous people which will definitely be put to good use and your Fetal Doppler arrived safe and sound Sue. Volunteering Guests are having a great time with only a few minor hiccups and are having a brilliant time with their host families and being spoilt rotten, learning the culture and cooking skills. They spent two days on language and culture lessons with city tours and have done a lot of adventuring around the district. Leoni and Cheryl have flown down to Pokhara for a bit of R&R for two days and we organised Louise to go to a church with Susima the house mother from New Life Children's home, so I look forward to what she has to say about attending church in Nepal. The girls are working on sewing the tracksuits also with the Sanitary Kit program and next week, will be spending their afternoons at Srijansil Orphanage.
