Hydraulic Pumping Units

As a compact, lighter weight alternative to the traditional surface beam pumping unit, Cameron offers Hydraulic Pumping Units (HPUs) to operators interested in conserving space and lowering their operating costs. The efficient design of these HPUs uses less than 1/10 the footprint of a conventional pumping unit and reduces installation and maintenance time, by several hours in some cases. Specifically, Cameron HPUs reduce time thus, saving money during any changes in stroke speed, stroke length and during any tapping of the well during gas lock.

The Copperhead 10 Series is a hydraulic pumping unit with a 14,300-lb lift capacity, designed for shallow gas/coal bed methane production and light production crude oil wells.

The Golden Rod 20 Series is a rod pumping hydraulic jack with a 30,000-lb lift capacity designed for light medium crude production and for high-volume natural gas dewatering.

The Golden Rod 30 Series is a tubing pumping hydraulic jack (lifts the tubing with no sucker rods) with a 40,000-lb lift capacity designed for heavy oil and high sand/debris content wells.

Megalift Series is a hydraulic jack with 40,000 lbs lift capacity, designed for light medium crude production and for high-volume natural gas dewatering.

Conventional Pumping Units vs. Camerons Hydraulic Pumping Unit

Conventional Units Ships one unit in one container Gravel, concrete, site preparation Installs in 1-2 days Can have a footprint 10x10 or larger Installation and all adjustments require special crew, cranes, pickers
Drawn to scale

Camerons HPU Ships five units in one container, reducing costs No site preparation, bolts directly to the wellhead Installs in < 3 hours No footprint at all (bolts to WH) No special crew is needed to install or operate Can change stroke speed and/or length in seconds without production downtime Independent up and down stroke speeds to allow optimization Taps well in seconds to be rid of gas lock does not shut in production 70% operational efficiency All benets on oil production are the same for dewatering

Key Features Lift Capacity (lbs) Stroke Length (inches) Dimensions (l x w x h) Total Weight Footprint
* 5 ft wide with ladder hoops

320-256-120 25,600 90, 105, 120 33.3 ft x 7.6 ft x 25 ft 32,550 lbs 22 x 7 ft

GR-20-120 30,000 0 120 2 ft x 2 ft x 15.3 ft* 1050 lbs N/A (bolts to WH)

Can take hours to change stroke speed and only 1 of 3 lengths Single stroke speed = only one option Takes hours to get rid of gas lock shut down production Pumps fill at 80% max and speed cannot be reduced on downstroke All limitations for oil production are the same for dewatering
