ACT offers a number of opportunities just for adults! Graduated Art classes are classes for people age 16 and up. These programs offer opportunities for creating community, meeting new friends, and building self confidence, all while learning and enjoying art.

Open Studio: For two hours, participants will have access to ACT art supplies to create their own masterpieces--whether a painting, multimedia creation, recycled art sculpture, or a new type of art creation! Along with this, there will also be planned crafts for those who prefer a bit more guidance.

Learning from a Local Master: Students will get to work in a variety of visual art media and learn create their own Caribbean Style art under the instruction of local art master, Erick Picardo. Hailing from the Dominican Republic, Picardo is a visual artist and percussionist who performs and exhibits his work in Grand Rapids and around the world. ACTion Drummers: This in-depth drumming class is for folks interested in learning more about drumming and performing in various community locations. The group practices weekly, and performs at least two times during each ten-week session. Urban Art: In this multi-media class students will explore the world of urban art and its many forms, including hip-hop dance, music and singing, and visual art. Dance & Creative Movement: Dance and CM will take place in a fun, community environment with students learning new moves and creating new dances. *The class will meet at the Grand Rapids Ballet Company at 341 Ellsworth Ave SW, Grand Rapids, 49503. Thanks to the Grand Rapids Ballet Company for generously donating their space for this class!

Assistant
ACT encourages participants to bring an assistant if necessary for meaningful participation in class. There is no cost for assistants. Please note that we will not provide art supplies for assistants as the purpose of the assistant is to help the participant, not to work on his or her own art project.
