XMobots Apoena 1000

The APOENa 1000 is a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (also known as UAV or VANT in Brazil) designed for aerial monitoring tasks where high reliability and certification are required. Since its conception, the project focus was on reliability and compliance with applicable aeronautical standards like FAR 23 and ARP4761. This resulted in a system with redundancies and fail safe systems, such as recovery policies to enable a safe return in case of Lost Link or any other failure events, and a Parachute for emergency landing purposes. APOENa 1000 was the first RPA to get into a process to obtain an Experimental Certificate in Brazil, and it is expected to finish it in the 2nd Quarter of 2012, being the first brazilian RPA to receive an Experimental Certificate issued by the Brazilian Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC).

Ground Control Station

The GCS-S2A allows a complete mission planning and execution. It has a user friendly Mission Planner, with map support and a flight consistency checkers to ensure the programming of safe missions. The GCS-S2A is robust to be used in field applications, having a highly ergonomic joystick and throttle to operate in semi-automatic and manual modes. It has two displays: the Primary for all flight information (telemetry data and real time video from navigation cameras), and the Multifunction for other flight informations.

Technical Specifications Data Terminal

The APOENa 1000 system uses by default the GDT-S60A ground data terminal, with a radio autotracking system wich enables a stable 60 km LOS communication link of real time data and video. It works as a relay system, being able to be installed in distances up to 1km from the GCS.
