CAD LAB Intro To Creo 2 PDF
Learning objectives:
Understand the advantage of using Creo. Understand the bidirectional associative property. Learn various important terms and definitions in Creo Learn file menu options Importance of model tree Mouse buttons Default toolbars Appearance gallery
Feature-based nature
Feature: the smallest building block. A solid model created in Creo is an integration of number of such building blocks. Each feature can be edited individually to bring in the desired change in the solid model. This property provides greater flexibility to the parts created.
Parametric nature
The features of a part become interrelated if they are drawn by taking the reference of each other. You can redefine the dimensions or the attributes of a feature anytime. The changes will propagate automatically throughout the model, they develop relationships among themselves. Parent child relationship (will be handled in more detail in part modeling)
System requirements

Important definitions
Entity: An element of the section geometry. It can be an arc, line, circle, point, conic, coordinate system and so on. When one entity is divided at a point then total number of entities are said to be two. Dimension: Measurement of one or more entities Constraint: Logical operations that are performed on the selected geometry to make it more accurate in defining its position and size with respect to other geometry.
Important definitions
Parameter: A numeric value or a word that defines a feature. For example all dimensions in sketch are parameters, and can be modified at any time. Relation: an equation that relates to entities. Weak dimensions and weak constraints: are temporary dimensions and constraints and appear in light blue color, and are automatically applied to the sketch, and can also be removed from the sketch without any confirmation from the user.
Important definitions
Strong dimensions and strong constraints: appear in dark blue color, and are not removed automatically. All dimensions added manually to the sketch are strong dimensions.
