Questions
This activity will introduce the concept of time to students. Later students will learn more about this, but this will focus on
time to the hour.
Learning Outcome(s) The learner will listen as Mr. Fox as he says the time.
The learner will move however many steps Mr. Fox says to move according to what time it is.
Summary Students will be intorduced to time (in hours) and will the play the game called "What Time is it Mr. Fox". In this game
students will move a certain number of steps that correlate to the time that Mr. Fox says it is.

ASSESSMENTS
Assessment/Rubrics Students will be assessed by observing how many steps they take as the game progresses. They will also be assessed
by showing answers on quiet fingers during the closure.

IMPLEMENTATION
Sequence of Activities 1. Students will be on their carpet square.
2. The teacher will show students a large clock and explain they are going to be talking about time and telling time.
3. The teacher will model times (to the hour only) with the large clock.
4. The students will then proceed outside and line up on a wall.

5. Students will say, "What time is it Mr. Fox?", while the teacher is the fox.
5. The teacher will call out a time (ex. 10:00)
6. The students will take that many steps forward. (10)
7. This will continue until Mr. Fox (The teacher) says midnght. When midnight is said, students start running to the other
side of the yard while Mr. Fox tries to catch them.
8. This will continue for a few rounds.
9. Closure: The teacher will describe a time and the students will show the teacher the answer with quiet fingers. (ex.
Please show me an hour after 2 or an hour before 5, etc.)
