WHAT A WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!
Fall is in prayerfully prepare now to give your best gift to this important
the air. The leaves are turning color (or falling off!).
Thanksgiving and Christmas are just literally days away. What a
wonderful time for us as Christians to be active in sharing the
goodness of God. The month of November has been designated as
“Reaching The Harvest” month. As I mentioned last week, we
believe that God has targeted us to reach our harvest….not just
because of the Great Commission, but because He has spoken
directly to us. How can we reach this great harvest? One of the
ways is through MEDIA. We live in a media driven society. On
Tuesday of this week, I toured the Elementary School with several
other pastors and it showed us just how media driven we are. Our
kids play video games and are much more computer literate than
most of us adults. Media affords us the opportunity to reach
people in ways that we cannot personally do. I was stopped in the
hallway of the Elementary School by one of the Teacher’s Aides
who said, “I watched you preach on the internet last night.” That
made me so proud because she heard the Ministry of Woodruff
Church of God even though she was not in the sanctuary. I want
everyone to worship with us in the sanctuary, but what if we can
reach people in other ways? Wouldn’t it be great to know of
people being saved, even though they were not on our property? If
someone doesn’t have to go to hell….I’M HAPPY ! ! !
THIS COMING SUNDAY NIGHT we will be hosting the
Woodruff Baptist Association’s “CHOIR FEST.” That singing
will begin at 6:00 P.M. Churches from around the community will
have their choir here to sing, and our own “Spirit of Praise” choir
will be singing as well. This will be a great time of worship
through choir singing and a great time of fellowship with our
brothers and sisters.
PLEASE DON’T FORGET that on November 15th we will be
receiving our “HARVEST OFFERING” for the sole purpose of
raising funds to secure new video equipment. In order to do our
best, we need to have the best equipment we can afford. With all
of us pitching in we can begin to move forward with greater speed
in the area of media to help reach the harvest around us. Again,
that is November 15th in the Morning Worship Service. Please
SENIOR ADULT THANKSGIVING LUNCHEON will be
need. Thank you in advance!
NOVEMBER 22nd in the AM service, we will be celebrating
Communion. We just talked about the Communion story and
washing feet this past Sunday morning. We learned that in order
to wash someone’s feet somebody else has to get their hands wet!
God wanted us to know that dirty hands prevent us from getting
the best benefit out of the meal. I hope that between now and
November 22nd, you will do all you can to get your hands, heart,
and head clean. I believe that the Lord will have something great
in store for us.
NOVEMBER 29th will be the day to bring canned goods and non-
perishable items for Helping Hands Ministries. There will be a
large box in the lobby and we ask that you bring items to bless
this ministry. What a wonderful way to help reach our community
by helping those in need to secure food items. The Lord will bless
you and our church.

 THE CHOICE

There comes a time in every life
When choices must be made
To continue on the road you’re on
Or go a different way
A chance to take a step of faith
Life you’ve never done before
To travel down a brand new path
That’s laid out by the Lord
A chance to leave the past behind
With every step you take
To know great blessings wait ahead
If you believe and walk by faith
For Jesus will direct your steps
He will lead you by His hand
He will take you where you’ve never gone
To a bright and promised land
But those who go a different way
With their back turned on the Son
Will walk in darkness all their life

They will not know the power of grace
Or mercy’s loving hands
