For the first time, the Hong Leong Foundation is offering scholarships for Masters programmes abroad.

The scholarship aims to provide opportunities for further study to students who have demonstrated both academic excellence and the potential to become leaders, decision-makers, and entrepreneurs. We seek young Malaysians who possess the Hong Leong Group values of integrity, tenacity, acumen, foresight and humility.

Eligibility Malaysian citizen. Aged below 35 years . Obtained a minimum of second class upper Degree (Hons) for Bachelors Degree or a CGPA of 3.65 and above. Offered a seat in a full time Masters programme by coursework and/or research in one of the top 200 universities of the world, as per Times Higher Education ranking. The duration of the programme should not exceed 2 years. Plans to pursue a course of study that is relevant to the Hong Leong Group of company businesses, i.e. in the manufacturing, properties, leisure, and banking industries. Demonstrates active involvement in extra-curricular, community or voluntary activities. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and leadership skills. Possesses the character of an ambassador with a sense of faithfulness for Malaysia. Must not be bonded or receiving any form of financial aid or award from other educational institutions or organizations. Internal candidate is not eligible.

Fields of Study Candidates must apply for postgraduate programmes which are relevant to Hong Leong core businesses: Banking and Finance, Risk Management, Human Resource Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, Law, Research and Design, Manufacturing, Hotel Management, Industrial Design, Environmental Studies, Earth Studies, etc.

Award Successful applicants will receive: Tuition coverage and living allowance up to RM250,000 for the duration of study Costs of books and materials, as well as visas, flights, insurance, and other costs (as defined as part of the comprehensive fee by the university) can be covered, subject to the cap above.

Graduation Requirements We encourage our scholars to join the Hong Leong Group to contribute their skills and knowledge acquired through the course. Subject to the fulfillment of selection criteria and availability of positions, the Hong Leong Group looks forward to welcoming the Scholarship Holders to its organization. Participation in HLG Inspire and Aspire Programme Requirement to live and work in Malaysia for 3 years upon graduation.
