DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: DV-ALERT - 2 DAY WORKSHOP


About: DV-alert is a nationally-run accredited training program designed to build the capacities of health, allied health and frontline workers who come in contact with people at risk of or experiencing domestic and family violence to provide the best possible support and referral. Outcomes: Upon successful completion of the program participants will have the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to recognise the signs of domestic violence; respond with appropriate care; and refer people experiencing or at risk of domestic and family violence to appropriate support services. A Certificate of Attainment for the Unit CHCDFV310A Recognise and Respond Appropriately to Domestic and Family Violence is available. Intended for: DV-alert is for health, allied health and frontline workers who are most likely to come in contact with people experiencing or at risk of domestic and family violence. Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points available for nurses.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: AWARENESS SESSION - 2 HOURS


About: Anyone can experience domestic and family violencefemale and male, rich and poor, young and old, people in same-sex relationships, between partners and ex-partners, people with disabilities, across all cultures, religious beliefs and places. Nearly all Australians (98 per cent) recognise that violence against women and their children is a crime. However, the prevalence of violence continues to be unacceptably high. DV-alert Awareness sessions are two-hour learning sessions where individuals and groups can talk and learn about the issue of domestic violence. Outcomes: Participants who complete this session will be more aware of the signs of domestic violence, the ways in which it may occur and what they can do to put a stop it. Intended for: for health, allied health and frontline workers who are most likely to come in contact with people experiencing or at risk of domestic and family violence.

SUICIDE PREVENTION: SAFETALK WORKSHOP 3.5 HOUR WORKSHOP
About: More people in Australia under the age of 44 Intended for: The course is open to anyone over the die by suicide each year than any other cause. Yet age of 15 and no special skills are needed. SAFETALK SCHOOLS AND YOUTH PROGRAM 3.5 HOUR WORKSHOP


Thanks to generous funding from the Rotary Club of North Gosford, the Safetalk program is available free of charge to Central Coast schools and youth organisations. Registered SafeTalk trainers are available to visit your school or organisation to deliver the program to groups of 10 or more people over the age of 15 (for example, students, teachers, youth workers support staff and others in contact with young people). CHALLENGING BEHAVIOURS: MOVING ON - 3.5 HOUR WORKSHOP


About: This workshop explores the type of client that may be difficult to manage. Many of us have to deal with angry or unhappy clients as part of our roles, and it's never easy. However, having a good idea of how to deal with these problems beforehand will make it easier to react when they occur. Outcomes: Participants will recognise the importance of dealing effectively with difficult clients (both professionally and personally) and learn effective strategies that can be utilised immediately and in the longer term to improve professional performance and personal life. Participants will also develop a greater awareness of the effect such clients can have upon themselves - and the consequences. Intended for: This half day workshop will be useful for anyone having to deal on a professional level with clients they find challenging.

SELF-HARM - 3.5 HOURS WORKSHOP
About: People define self-harm in lots of different Outcomes: Participants will gain an awareness of ways.
