Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister, Oscar Fernandes, Saturday inspected roads in Amethi and Rae Bareli and asked ofcials to complete all the pending repair work in a week and take action against guilty contractors. The minister had arrived with a team of ofcials and met NHAI and UPPWD ofcials.
According to sources, during the review meeting, ofcials told the minister that some of the roads in the two constituencies have deteriorated due to overloading of heavy vehicles.
