Newsletter of Archer United Methodist Church APRIL 2014- Volume 5

May is the month for so many celebrations some of them happy and some of them a little more
somber. Graduations from High School and College, Confirmations, Mothers Day, May Day, and
Memorial Day to name a few. Sometimes it is during these times of celebrations that we forget
what ought to be the greatest celebration of all, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is risen. Sure we
celebrate Easter with all the festivities, but did you know that we are in Eastertide all the way
through Pentecost? This year Pentecost is June 8th. If truth be told though as Christians we are
called an Easter People, and we should live our lives every day in such a way that we are celebrat-
ing our risen Savior and spreading the news to all those whom we meet. After all when you are ex-
cited about something, you cant wait to share it with others, so why should the news that Jesus is
risen be any different? We should heed the words given to the women at the tomb, Hurry, Go and
tell the disciples (or everyone) that He (Jesus) has been raised from the dead Matthew 28:7
