M-1 GLOBAL PRESENTS

PROFILE 2010
INTERNATIONAL MIXED MARTIAL ARTS LEAUGUE

In the year 2010 there will be some changes
regarding rules and regulations for the M-1 series. This
year we introduced two new series; M-1 Selection and M-1
Breakthrough. The philosophy about the series is to build
levels of fighting to secure the skill level of the individual
fighter. The level in the M-1 challenge had some big diffe-
rence in country so for next year the focus will be to incre-
ase the level of the individual that make the team.

The biggest change is the introduction of a M-1 selection

process to make sure to get the best fighters to participate
in the M-1 Challenge. The Challenge season will be reduced

M-1 GLOBAL and will consist in only four teams. This time there won’t
be a country versus country concept but will be a continent
FIGHT LEAUGE versus continent. Each continent will have two teams that
will be in the M-1 Challenge. The first team consist with
fighters that won the M-1 Selection and the other team will
be selected by M-1. Those fighters can be selected due to
experience, talent or are given a second chance.

The M-1 Selection was created in Russia to make sure the

M-1 Challenge season. The M-1 Selection is for upcoming
fighters that want to test themselves. The success of the
M-1 Selection was a reason to change the M-1 Challenge

and make the M-1 Selection part of the M-1 Challenge. In a
knockout system 8 fighters will enter the tournament. That
means 8 fighters in 5 weight categories a total of 40 fighters.
The selection will be divided in 4 continents.

Each continent will have their own M-1 Selection events. The
first and second event starts with a quarterfinal. The winner
of the fights will move to the semi final that will be held in
the third event. The fourth event will be a final, the winner of
the M-1 Selection will be selected for the M-1 Challenge.

other 4 teams are created by the M-1 officials. They will choose a fighter due to his experience, new talent, veterans in the
M-1 Challenge or fighter that did perform well in the Selection but didn’t win it. It’s up to the officials to make the strongest
team possible. Then that makes a total of 8 teams for the M-1 Challenge.

Finals Quarter finals Superfight Semi finals

The M-1 Challenge is a team versus team concept. The first
and second season was a country versus country competi-
tion. The difference of fighting level was too big and some
countries aren’t at the level we like them to compete. This
was a big concern we saw and we want to create a Challen-
ge that make sure everyone can participate no matter which
country the individual fighter is from.

With the new design a fighter for example Turkey can make it
in the final because he can qualify himself to get in the conti-
nent team. Next year there will be 8 teams instead of 16 and
those teams are divided in 4 continents. Each continent will
have two teams competing in the M-1 Challenge. The conti-
nent that will provide the teams are Europe, Russia, America
(North & South) and Asia.

Team A This team will have the M-1 Selection winners in a group. They have showed
in the M-1 Selection they can handle the level of fighting because they had to win 3 fights
before entering the M-1 Challenge.

Team B This is a team of fighters that is selected by the organization. This can be
fighters that fought last year in the M-1 Challenge or are talents or veteran that want to make
a comeback. M-1 scout Apy Echteld can use his wildcards to get a team ready to compete. If
a fighter has too much experience to fight in a M-1 Selection, he can be put in team B of the
M-1 Challenge.
BREAKTHROUGH

In 2009 the first M-1 Breakthrough show was produced.

This is a show where talents from the M-1 stable can com-
pete against recognized fighters all of the world. On the
show the big names from all the M-1 series can fight other
fighters but also can fight each other.

For next year we are thinking of introducing M-1 titles

to make sure that the owner of the belt is M-1’s biggest
prospect at the moment. We have a fighter roster over
100 fighters so developing title fights that are considered
worthy of holding a title is more than expectable. The M-1
Breakthrough are planned to have 4 or 5 events in a year.
This is the next step for fighters that showed the world they
are capable to fight on the big stage.
