BFG Campaign Rules

The goal of BFG in the Sanctuary II campaign is to augment the ground (40K !ar" #s such$
I%m cutting out a significant chun& of the filler 'attles and stic&ing !ith games that all ha(e real
results for the ground !ar" Instead of using my original map$ I%m )ust stic&ing !ith the system
map and !ill !or& a more fluid campaign"
INITIAL SETUP:
To start$ each side chooses a fleet"
* The Tau player may choose up to +000pts !orth of ships"
* The Imperials may choose up to 4000pts !orth of ships"
* The ,ldar may chose up to -.00pts !orth of ships"
Keep in mind that you do not ha(e to select a legal fleet list (i"e" you can select more 'attleships
than is allo!ed 'y the fleet list$ 'ut you !ill ha(e to follo! fleet construction rules !hen
playing games"
/e0t$ choose - ship out of your fleet to ser(e as your flagship" This al!ays has your
admiral1commander on 'oard and has the added 'onus that you can field your flagship !ith no
limitations 'ased on its class (meaning you don%t ha(e to field + cruisers if your flagship is a
'attleship in the case of the Imperials"
The Tau player%s Kor%2 starts at +- Reno!n to represent that his fleet is 'attle tested and the
ships under his command trust in his a'ilities" The Imperial and ,ldar players$ in contrast$ 'oth
start at 3 Reno!n 4 they%re not entirely ne! as commanders 'ut ha(e yet to earn the trust of their
su'ordinates in 'attle against the Tau"
CAMPAIGN TURN:
The actual campaign !ill 'e (ery fluid$ and aside from me choosing the scenario 'ased on each
of your intentions$ you )ust ha(e to !orry a'out the #ftermath section of the BFG rule'oo&"
5ou !ill ha(e to trac& the progress and damage of your ships in your fleet as !ell as the Reno!n
of your admiral1commander" Since !e%re not occupying territories$ your a'ility to repair (essels
!ill 'e 'ased on a num'er of strategic locations6 the Ramilles Star Fort in the 7ammers of Thor$
the 8echanicus shipyards anchored a'o(e Sanctuary III$ and + Tau 2r'ital Cities" #nd to 'e
snea&y li&e ,ldar typically are$ they ha(e a hidden 'ase some!here in system" The Ramilles
counts as a 8ining 9orld: Sanctuary III$ the 2r'ital Cities$ and the ,ldar 'ase count as Forge
9orlds"
;nli&e the rule'oo&$ you !ill /2T automatically get ships 'ac& !hen they are destroyed" This
ma&es your reinforcement rolls a lot more important and also forces you to thin& a'out the
sur(i(al of your ships during each game" 7o!e(er$ this !ill still pose a significant drain on your
fleet%s resources$ so each player !ill recei(e an additional #ppeal each turn that must 'e used as
a Reinforcement roll"
Tau Commander Reno!n6
-*. Reno!n6 Kor%el <d = - Re*roll
3*-0 Reno!n6 Kor%el <d = + Re*roll
--*+0 Reno!n6 Kor%el <d > + Re*roll
+-*?0 Reno!n6 Kor%o <d > ? Re*roll
?-*.0 Reno!n6 Kor%2 <d > ? Re*roll
.-@ Reno!n6 Kor%2 <d -0 ? Re*roll
SCENARIOS:
Before the 'attle each fleet needs to select a su'*plot as per the rule'oo&" #s I said$ I%ll choose
!hat scenario to play 'ased on each fleet%s intentions" The scenarios I !ill choose from are6
Scenario Three6 The Raiders
Scenario Fi(e6 Bloc&ade Run
Scenario Si06 Con(oy
Scenario Se(en6 Alanetary #ssault
Scenario Ten6 Fleet ,ngagement
GROUND WAR EFFECTS:
/o! I !ant to specifically address ho! each mission !ill affect the ground !ar"
* The Raiders" This and Fleet ,ngagement are the BstandardC 'attles" These ha(e
ranging impacts from claiming space or facilities as !ell as damage to defenses and e(en
'om'ing runs on ground targets"
* Bloc&ade Run" This is ho! Tau get more troops and ships in system" ,ach ship that
sur(i(es running the 'loc&ade is added to their register$ and each transport that ma&es it
thru is .00pts of 40K"
* Con(oy" This !ill affect !hat units (7D$ Troops$ etc" can 'e chosen as reinforcements
the ne0t time they arri(e (either 'y landing in the case of Imperials$ or Bloc&ade Running
for Tau"
* Alanetary #ssault" #ll troop landings 'y the Imperials must 'e preceded 'y this
mission" Instead of using the chart for #ssault Aoints$ each point scored lands .00 points
(and supplies to support them on the planet !ith a minimum of .00 and ma0 of .$000"
Remem'er$ the composition and num'er of points can 'e further ad)usted 'y the a'o(e
missions"
* Fleet ,ngagement" #s The Raiders"
