** You will have SIX (6) in class periods to read your novel. You may have to read beyond
class time as well to complete your novel.

Put mouse over ENG 3CI Click on the title of your novel Read the blog prompt start blogging

Steps to complete the BLOGS
You will have the full period to work on the blog: USE YOUR TIME WISELY!!

30 minutes to answer the questions and post your answers on your novel page

30 minutes to respond to at least TWO other posts.
You will also be required to comment on TWO other posts. Your comments should also be 3 5 sentences in
length. Remember that this will be viewed by me and that you must keep your comments appropriate at all
times.
You will be marked on content and accuracy, depth and length, and ability to join in the discussion in a
meaningful way.
If you are absent you are still responsible to access the blog site and still post your answers from home or
during MSIP

PART TWO Creative Activities In class and on own time
Choose ONE of the following activities:

1. Write a letter to the main character you can write from the perspective of his or her friend, or as his or her
parent or sibling
Advice on how he or she should deal with the conflicts in his or her life
Next steps how s/he should move on from the issues in the novel
The things you share in common things you can relate to with the character
A lesson you have learned in life from him or her
LENGTH: 2 pages double spaced and typed

2. Write an eulogy for the main character
You have been invited to speak at the main characters funeral , consider what you would say
What would you include about his or her life that would be meaningful to the characters family and
friends
What lessons in life have you learned from this character
Consider what s/he would want to say to those gathered for the funeral
Consider memories you may have about the character
LENGTH: 2 pages double spaced and typed

3. Choose a scene in the novel and create a screenplay
You may want to include yourself as one of the characters
Include technical camera terms (see Monster unit for details)
Create dialogue and other characters to further develop the story line
Keep the dialogue and story true to the characters and the novels plot line
Give a brief background to set up the scene
LENGTH: 2 pages set up in screenplay format typed
