3.2

General information

Before using the appliance, be sure to
read these Operating Instructions carefully.
They are a component part of the appli-
ance and must be available at all times.
Use the appliance only for the purpose
described (see 2.1 Intended purpose on
page 3).
Check whether the mains voltage (see
type plate on the appliance) agrees with
your mains voltage.
This device is not intended to be used by
individuals (including children) with
limited physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or with a lack of experience
and/or lack of knowledge, unless
supervised by a person responsible for
their safety or they have received
instructions from such a person as to
how to use the device. Children should
always be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the device.
If there should be any malfunctions, the
appliance may only be repaired by our
Service Centre.
The appliance must only be set up on a
rm, level, dry and non-ammable surface.
Check that the power socket is easily
accessible so that you can pull out the
mains plug quickly if necessary.

installed, earthed wall socket.
Do not use the appliance if it has fallen

If the mains cable for this appliance is
damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or a person with similar
qualications in order to avoid a
hazard.
Never use the appliance in the immedi-
ate vicinity of a sink, bath tub, shower or
swimming pool as splashes might enter
the appliance.
Water or other liquids must never be
allowed to enter the appliance. For this
reason:
never use outdoors;
never place containers lled with
liquid, such as drinking glasses, vases
etc. on the appliance;
never use in a very damp environment
such as a bathroom.
If nonetheless liquid does enter the
appliance, unplug the mains plug
immediately and have the appliance
repaired by a qualied specialist. You
will nd the service address in
10. Warranty on page 12.
Never insert ngers or any objects
through the protective guards into the
inside of the appliance.
Never touch the appliance, the mains
cord or the mains plug with moist hands.
Always pull the mains cord out by the
plug. Never pull it by the cord itself.
Ensure that the mains cable is not
kinked, twisted or crushed.
Ensure that the mains cable is not dama-
ged on sharp edges.
Keep the mains cord away from hot
surfaces (such as stove eyes).
If you are not using the appliance for a
prolonged period of time, remove the
plug from the wall socket. Only then is
the appliance completely free of current.
You should avoid using extension cords.
This is only allowed under very
particular conditions:
The extension cord has to be suited for
the appliance's amperage.
The extension cord must not be
installed "loose": it must not be
possible to trip over it or within the
reach of children.
The extension cord must not by any
means be damaged.
No other devices other than this
appliance must be connected to the
mains socket, as otherwise
overloading of the power supply
network could occur (multiple sockets
are not allowed!).
The appliance must not be operated with
an external time switch or separate
remote control system, such as a wireless
remote control socket.

Protection against the danger of

As the appliance works
at high temperatures, please
observe the following safety
information to prevent re.
While the appliance is operating, there
must be no ammable objects (e.g.
curtains, paper) in the immediate vicinity
of the appliance.
Never use the appliance to dry textiles
or other items on, over or in front of the
appliance.
To avoid overheating, the appliance must
never be covered.
When setting up the appliance, maintain
a minimum distance of 1.5 m from other
appliances and the wall.
Never operate the appliance in rooms
where there is a risk of explosion or in

the vicinity of

ammable gases or
liquids.
The appliance must never be placed
immediately beneath a wall socket, as
the heat it generates could damage the
electrical installation.
Always check that air can freely enter
and escape. Heat might otherwise build
up inside the appliance.
Never leave the appliance running when
it is unattended. The presence of odour
is almost always an indication of
damage. If you notice any such odour,
unplug the mains plug immediately and
have the appliance inspected. You will

Protection against injury

arning! To avoid injury, please
observe the following information.
Ensure that it is not possible for anyone to
trip over or to get caught up in or step on
the mainscable.
Once hot, if you wish to transport the
appliance, switch it off, pull out the
mains plug, and wait until the appliance
has cooled down. Otherwise you could
burn yourself on the hot surface.
3.6 For the safety of your child
Warning! Children often cannot
assess dangers correctly and are
injured as a result. Please therefore
observe the following:
This product may only be used under
adult supervision to ensure that children
do not play with the appliance.
Always take care to ensure the appli-
ance is kept out of the reach of children
at all times.
The remote control contains batteries.
Ensure that they are kept out of the reach
of children and are not swallowed.
Ingested batteries can be highly dange-
rous. Obtain medical assistance imme-
diately if batteries are swallowed.
3.7 Handling batteries
Warning!
To prevent a risk of explosion, nor-
mal batteries must not be charged,
heated or disposed of by burning.
If battery acid has leaked, avoid
contact with skin, eyes and mucous
membranes to prevent injury. In the
event of contact with the acid, rinse
the affected areas immediately
with plenty of clean water and con-
tact a doctor at once.
Caution! To avoid damaging the product
and ensure it functions correctly, please
note:
Always replace all batteries at the same
time.
Do not use different battery types or a
mixture of new and old batteries at the
same time.
Do not short circuit the batteries.
Do not use rechargeable batteries.
Remove the batteries if the device is not
used for a long time. Leaking batteries
could damage the device.

3.8 Material damage
Caution! To avoid material damage, please
observe the following conditions.
Remove the batteries from the remote
control if you are not using it for a pro-
longed period of time. Leaking batteries
could damage the remote control.
Ensure that the feet are tted correctly
(see 4.2 Setting up the appliance on
page 7), otherwise the oor might be
scratched or scorched.
4. Unpacking, setting up and inserting the batteries
4.1 Mounting the appliance
Before the appliance can be used, the feet 7
must be screwed on as follows:
1. Unpack the appliance from the
packaging.
2. Remove the transport packaging.
3. Check that the appliance shows no signs
of damage.
4. Insert the hooks on the feet into the cor-
responding openings on the bottom of
the appliance:
5. Slide the feet to one side to allow the
hooks to engage.
6. Secure the feet rmly using the supplied
screws:
4.2 Setting up the appliance
Note: As the appliance and heating ele-
ments are supplied with a thin lm of gre-
ase, there might be a small amount of
smoke and odour the rst time the appliance
is used. This is not harmful and will stop
after a short while. Please ensure meanwhile
that there is sufcient ventilation.
Warning! Ensure that there is suf-
cient distance from the wall, xtu-
res and other appliances. The
distance must be at least 1 m to
exclude the risk of re.
1. Select a location in compliance with the
safety information (see 3. Safety infor-
mation on page 4).

2. Plug the mains plug into a wall socket
that complies with the technical data.
Note:If you have plugged other power
consumers into the same circuit, check
that the maximum load for the installed
fuse is not exceeded, as otherwise the
fuse will trip.
4.3 Inserting the batteries
If the appliance is new or the batteries in the
remote control are at, new type AAA/R03
batteries must be inserted.
1. Press the catch
and lift the lid off
the battery com-
partment.

2. Remove the old batteries if present.
Note: Please observe the instructions for
disposal (see 8.2 Disposable/recharge-
able batteries on page 11).
3. Insert new batteries.
Note: Ensure the correct polarity (+/).
The correct polarity is shown on the bot-
tom of the battery compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment again.
5. Operating
5.1 Using the appliance for the rst
time
1. Plug the mains plug into a wall socket
that complies with the technical data (see
9. Technical data on page 12).
2. Switch the mains switch 8 to ON to
switch on the power supply.
The mains switch 8 lights up.
3. Press the On/Off button 18 to switch the
appliance on.
The display 9 lights up.
The appliance is now ready for use and can
be operated by means of the remote control
or control panel 2. To operate the appliance
by means of the control panel 2, rst raise
the cover 3.
5.2 Selecting the temperature
1. To choose whether you wish the tempe-
rature to be displayed in C or F, press
button 13.
The indicator light 12 shows which unit
of measurement is selected.
2. Press the Increase temperature button
21 to increase the desired temperature
up to a maximum of 35 C (95 F).
The selected desired temperature ashes
in the display 9.
3. Press the Reduce temperature button
20 to lower the desired temperature to a
minimum of 10 C (50 F).
The selected desired temperature ashes
in the display 9.

After a short time the temperature display
stops ashing and switches to the measured
value.
Note: The temperature is measured at the
appliance. It might be some time before the
entire room has also reached this tempera-
ture.
As soon as the set temperature is reached,
the heating function switches off automati-
cally and the indicator lights 19 for the heat
settings ash. As soon as the temperature
falls below the desired temperature, the hea-
ting function automatically switches on
again and the indicator lights 19 for the
heat settings are constantly illuminated.
5.3 Setting the heat setting
The appliance has three heat settings:
1,000 watts
1,300 watts
2,300 watts
1. Press button 17 repeatedly until the desi-
red heat setting is set.
The relevant indicator light 19 lights up.
Notes:
if both indicator lights 19 are illumina-
ted, the 2,300 watts heat setting has
been selected,
if no indicator light 19 is illuminated,
the heating function is switched off,
if the indicator lights 19 ash, the
desired temperature has been rea-
ched.
2. Press the fan button 16 to switch the fan
on or off.
When the fan is switched on, the indica-
tor light 14 lights up.
Note: The fan might make a slight noise,
but it does ensure better circulation of
the heated air.
5.4 Setting the heating time
The appliance has a timer for setting the
heating time to between 1 and 15 hours.
The appliance switches off automatically
once the heating time has expired.
1. Press the timer button 11 repeatedly until
the desired number of hours is indicated
by the indicator lights 10.
Note: You will need to add together the
number of hours indicated by the indica-
tor lights 10. If, for example, 2H and 8H
are lit up, the heating time is 10 hours.
2. To switch off the timer, press the timer
button 11 repeatedly until none of the
indicator lights 10 is illuminated.
5.5 Thermal cut-out
For your safety the appliance has a thermal
cut-out.
If the temperature inside the appliance beco-
mes too high, the appliance switches off
automatically:
1. Switch the mains switch 8 to 0FF to
switch off the appliance.
2. Check whether the air inlet 6 or outlet 4
is obstructed and remove the cause.
If you cannot establish a cause and the
fault occurs repeatedly, have the
appliance repaired or else take it out of
use.
3. Wait for the appliance to cool down.
4. You can then continue to operate it nor-
mally.

5.6 Frost protection
To prevent the temperature in a room falling
below 0 C (32 F), proceed as follows:
1. Switch the mains switch 8 to ON to
switch on the power supply.
The mains switch 8 lights up.
2. Press the On/Off button 18 to switch the
appliance on.
The display 9 lights up.
As soon as the temperature in the immediate
vicinity of the appliance falls signicantly
below 5 C (41 F), the heater switches on
automatically at the highest heat setting and
heats the room to about 8 C (46 F).
6. Cleaning
To ensure your appliance gives you lasting
service, you should clean it regularly.
Warning! To avoid the danger of an
electric shock or burning:
remove the mains plug before
each clean;
allow the appliance to cool
down;
never immerse the appliance in
water;
never allow water or cleaning
agent to run into the appliance.
1. Carefully remove major dust deposits
from the protective guards with a
vacuum cleaner.
2. Remove any remaining dirt with a soft
brush.
3. Clean the outside of the appliance with a
damp cloth. You could also use a little
washing-up liquid.
Caution! Never use caustic or abrasive
cleaning agents, as this could damage
your appliance.
4. Wipe the appliance with a cloth moiste-
ned with clear water.
5. Do not use the appliance again until it
has dried completely.

8. Disposal
8.1 Appliance
The symbol with the crossed-
out rubbish bin on wheels
means that within the European
Union, the product must be dis-
posed of to a sorted rubbish
collection. This applies to the
product and all accessories which are
marked with this symbol. Marked products
must not be disposed of via the regular
domestic waste but must be handed in to a
recycling centre for electrical or electronic
devices. Recycling helps to reduce the use of
raw materials and to relieve the environ-
ment. You can obtain information about dis-
posal and the location of your nearest
recycling centre from your local waste
management service, for example, or Yellow
Pages.
8.2 Disposable/rechargeable
batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of
with normal household waste. Flat
batteries must be disposed of pro-
perly. Special containers for battery disposal
are provided for this purpose at the shop
where you bought the batteries or at a muni-
cipal collection point. Batteries and rechar-
geable batteries on which the following
letters are printed contain harmful sub-
stances as follows: Cd (cadmium), Hg (mer-
cury), Pb (lead).

strict quality guidelines and checked before
leaving the factory.

oteenja mrenog prikljunog voda
ovog ureaja, mora ga zamijeniti
proizvoa ili slina kvalificirana
osoba.
Nikada ne koristite ureaj u
neposrednoj blizini sudopera, kade za

3.4 Zatita od poara
Upozorenje! Budui da ovaj
ureaj radi na visokim

Tijekom pogona u neposrednoj blizini
ovog ureaja ne smiju se nalaziti

3.7 Postupanje s baterijama
Upozorenje!
Radi izbjegavanja opasnosti od
eksplozije normalne baterije se ne
bi smjele puniti, zagrijavati ili
uklanjati paljenjem.
Ako iz baterije iscuri kiselina,
izbjegavajte kontakt tekuine s
koom, oima i sluznicom kako biste
izbjegli zadobivanje ozljeda. U
sluaju kontakta s kiselinom dotina
mjesta odmah dobro isperite istom
vodom i obavezno potraite
lijeniku pomo.
Oprez! Da biste izbjegli oteenja na
ureaju i osigurali njegovo funkcioniranje,
obratite pozornost na sljedee:
Uvijek zamijenite sve baterije u isto
vrijeme.
Ne upotrebljavajte razliite tipove
baterija i ne mijeajte istodobno nove i
stare baterije.
Ne dovodite baterije u kratki spoj.
Ne koristite baterije koje se mogu

Ako ureaj vie ne koristite, izvadite

Izvadite baterije iz daljinskog
upravljaa ako ga neete koristiti due
vrijeme. Iscurjele baterije mogu otetiti
daljinski upravlja.
Pazite na to da ispravno stavite nogare

4. Vaenje iz ambalae, postavljanje,
umetanje baterije
4.1 Montaa ureaja
Prije nego ete poeti koristiti ureaj, morate
privrstiti 7 nogara:
1. Izvadite ureaj iz ambalae.
2. Uklonite pakovinu od transporta.
3. Provjerite nema li na ureaju oteenja.
4. Uvedite kukice nogara u pripadajui
otvor na donjoj strani ureaja:

4.2 Postavljanje ureaja
Oprez! Obzirom da su ureaj odnosno
grijai elementi kod isporuke lagano
podmazani, prilikom prvog koritenja moe
doi do laganog stvaranja dima i mirisa. To
ne teti i za kratko vrijeme prestaje. Imajte na
umu da za to vrijeme dostatno provjetrite
prostoriju.
Upozorenje! Obratite pozornost
na dovoljan razmak od zida,
dijelova namjetaja i drugih
predmeta. Razmak bi trebao iznositi
najmanje 1 m kako ne bi dolo do
opasnosti od poara.
1. Odaberite mjesto koje odgovara
sigurnosnim napucima (vidi

2. Utika utaknite u utinicu koja
odgovara tehnikim podacima.
Naputak: Ako bi na isti strujni krug

4.3 Umetanje baterija
Ako je ureaj nov ili ako su baterije u
daljinskom upravljau prazne, morate ih
zamijeniti novima tipa AAA/R03.
1. Pritisnite spojnicu
i otvorite poklopac
na pretincu za

2. Ako su unutra stare baterije, izvadite ih.

5.1 Stavljanje ureaja u
pogon

5.2 Odabir temperature
1. Odaberite elite li prikaz temperature u
jedinici C ili F tako da pritisnite tipku

npr. svijetli 2H i 8H, vrijeme grijanja 10
sati.
2. Da biste iskljuili tajmer, pritiite tipku
tajmera 11 tako dugo dok prestanu
svijetliti kontrolne aruljice 10.
5.5 Zatita od pregrijavanja
U svrhu Vae sigurnosti ureaj ima zatitu od
pregrijavanja.
Ako temperatura u unutranjosti ureaja
postane previsoka, on e se automatski
iskljuiti:
1. Iskljuite ureaj tako da stavite glavnu
sklopku 8 na 0FF.
2. Provjerite je li ulaz 4 ili izlaz za zrak 6
zaepljen i uklonite uzrok zaepljenja.
Ako ne biste mogli utvrditi uzrok, a
greka se iznova ponavlja, predajte
ureaj na popravak ili ga stavite van
funkcije.
3. Priekajte da se ureaj ohladi.
4. Zatim ga moete ponovno normalno
koristiti.
5.6 Zatita od smrzavanja
Da biste sprijeili pad temperature u prostoriji
ispod 0 C (32 F), postupite na sljedei
nain:

8. Zbrinjavanje
8.1 Ureaj
Simbol prekriene kante za

dualnom sustavu (zelena toka / Grner
Punkt).

suprasolicita reeaua de curent (prizele
multiple sunt interzise!).
Nu este voie s se utilizeze aparatul cu un
temporizator extern sau cu un sistem separat
de comand de la distan, ca de pild cu o
priz cu telecomand.
3.4 Protecia mpotriva
riscului de incendiu
Avertizare! Deoarece aparatul
lucreaz cu temperaturi ridicate, pentru
a nu putea izbucni incendii respectai
urmtoarele indicaii de siguran.
n timpul funcionrii este interzis ca n
apropierea aparatului s se afle obiecte
inflamabile (de ex. perdele, hrtie, etc.).
Nu utilizai niciodat aparatul pentru uscarea
materialelor textile sau altor obiecte pe,
deasupra, sau n faa lui.
Pentru a evita supranclzirea, nu este voie s
se acopere niciodat aparatul.
La amplasarea aparatului, meninei o
distan minim de 1,5 m fa de celelalte
aparate, sau fa de perete.
Nu utilizai niciodat aparatul n spaii cu
potenial explozibil, sau n apropierea
gazelor sau lichidelor inflamabile.
Nu este voie s se amplaseze niciodat
aparatul direct sub o priz de perete,

aproape de fiecare dat prin degajarea de

el, sau s calce pe el.
Dac dorii s transportai aparatul fierbinte,
oprii-l, tragei techerul de reea din priz i
ateptai pn cnd s-a rcit aparatul. n caz
contrar, v putei arde la suprafaa fierbinte.
3.6 Pentru sigurana copilului
dumneavoastr
Avertizare! Adesea copiii nu pot
aprecia corect pericolele i se rnesc.
Prin urmare, avei n vedere c:
Acest produs se poate utiliza doar sub
supravegherea adulilor, pentru a v asigura

3.7 Manipularea bateriilor
Avertizare!
Pentru a evita un pericol de explozie,
bateriile normale nu este voie s se
ncarce, s se nclzeasc, sau s se
ndeprteze prin ardere.
Dac s-a scurs acidul din baterie, evitai
contactul cu pielea, ochii i mucoasele,
pentru a mpiedica rnirea. n cazul
contactului cu acidul, cltii imediat
locul afectat cu mult ap proaspt i
consultai imediat un medic.
Atenie! Pentru a evita deteriorarea aparatului i
a asigura funcionarea acestuia, respectai:
nlocuii ntotdeauna toate bateriile mpreun.
Nu utilizai n acelai timp tipuri diferite de
baterii, sau baterii noi i vechi, amestecate.
Nu scurtcircuitai bateriile.
Nu utilizai acumulatori rencrcabili.
Dac nu se va utiliza aparatul timp
ndelungat, scoatei-i bateriile. n caz contrar,
bateriile scurse pot deteriora aparatul.
3.8 Pagube materiale
Atenie! Pentru a evita pagubele materiale,
respectai urmtoarele prevederi.
Scoatei bateriile din telecomand, dac nu
o utilizai timp ndelungat. Bateriile scurse pot
deteriora telecomanda.
Avei grij s fie montate corect picioarele
(vezi 4.2 Amplasarea aparatului la
pagina 28), n caz contrar se poate zgria
sau arde pe poriuni podeaua.

4. Despachetarea, amplasarea, introducerea bateriei
4.1 Montarea aparatului
nainte ca aparatul s poat fi pus n funciune,
trebuie s se deurubeze picioarele 7:
1. Scoatei aparatul din ambalaj.
2. ndeprtai ambalajul de transport.
3. Verificai ca aparatul s nu prezinte
deteriorri.
4. Introducei crligele picioarelor n orificiile
prevzute n acest sens, situate pe partea
inferioar a aparatului:

4.2 Amplasarea aparatului
Indicaie! Deoarece aparatul, resp. elementul
de nclzire, se va livra uor gresat, la prima
utilizare se poate forma puin fum i se poate
degaja puin miros. Acestea nu sunt duntoare i
dispar la scurt timp. ntre timp, avei grij s se
aeriseasc suficient.
Avertizare! Avei grij s exist
suficient distan fa de perete,
obiecte de mobilier, sau alte aparate.
Distana ar trebui s fie de minim 1 m,
pentru a exclude pericolul de incendiu.
1. Alegei un amplasament care s corespund
indicaiilor de siguran (vezi 3. Indicaii de
siguran la pagina 25).
2. Introducei techerul de reea ntr-o priz care
corespunde datelor tehnice.
Indicaie: Dac s-au racordat i ali
consumatori la acelai circuit de curent, avei
grij s nu se depeasc sarcina maxim

4.3 Introducerea bateriei
Dac este nou aparatul, sau dac bateriile din
telecomand sunt goale, trebuie s se introduc
baterii noi de tip AAA/R03.

5.1 Punerea n funciune a
aparatului
1. Introducei techerul de reea ntr-o priz care
corespunde datelor tehnice (vezi 9. Date
tehnice la pagina 32).
2. Pornii alimentarea cu energie electric prin
aducerea ntreruptorului principal 8 n
poziia ON.

5.2 Selectarea temperaturii
1. Selectai dac dorii afiarea temperaturii n
C sau n F, apsnd tasta 13.
Unitatea de msur selectat se va prezenta
prin ledul de control 12.
2. Apsai tasta Temperatur mai ridicat 21,
pentru a mri temperatura dorit pn la
maxim 35 C (95 F).
Temperatura dorit selectat clipete pe
afiaj 9.
3. Apsai tasta Temperatur mai redus 20,
pentru a scdea temperatura dorit pn la
maxim 10 C (50 F).

Dup puin timp, afiajul temperaturii nu mai
clipete i se comut pe valoarea msurat.
Indicaie: Msurarea temperaturii se
realizeaz direct de la aparat. Pn cnd
ntregul spaiu ajunge la aceast temperatur,
poate trece ceva timp.
De ndat ce s-a atins temperatura setat, funcia
de nclzire se deconecteaz automat, iar
ledurile de control 19 pentru treptele de nclzire
plpie. De ndat ce temperatura scade sub
temperatura dorit, funcia de nclzire repornete
automat, iar ledurile de control 19 pentru treptele
de nclzire lumineaz constant.
5.3 Setarea treptei de
nclzire
Aparatul dispune de trei trepte de nclzire:

5.4 Setarea duratei de
nclzire
Aparatul dispune de un temporizator, cu care
putei seta durata de nclzire dorit ntre 1 i 15
ore. Dup scurgerea duratei de nclzire,
aparatul se oprete automat.
1. Apsai tasta temporizator 11, pn cnd
ledurile de control 10 indic numrul de ore
dorit.
Indicaie: Trebuie s numrai orele
indicate de ledurile de control 10. Dac, de
ex., lumineaz 2H i 8H, durata de nclzire
este de 10 ore.
2. Pentru a opri temporizatorul, apsai tasta
temporizator 11 pn cnd nu mai
lumineaz niciun led de control 10.
5.5 Protecia mpotriva
supranclzirii
Pentru sigurana dumneavoastr, acest aparat
dispune de o siguran mpotriva supranclzirii.
Dac temperatura din interiorul aparatului va
crete prea mult, acesta se oprete automat:
1. Oprii aparatul aducnd ntreruptorul
principal 8 n poziia 0FF.
2. Verificai dac intrarea aer 6 sau ieirea aer
4 sunt obturate, iar dac da, ndeprtai
cauza.
Dac nu se constat nicio cauza, iar eroarea
se repet, dispunei repararea aparatului sau
scoatei-l din funciune.
3. Ateptai pn cnd s-a rcit aparatul.
4. Apoi putei s l mai pornii o dat.
5.6 Protecia mpotriva
ngheului
Pentru a evita ca temperatura dintr-o ncpere s
scad sub 0 C (32 F), procedai dup cum
urmeaz:

8. Dezafectarea
8.1 Aparatul

Produsele marcate nu este voie s se

colectare a aparatelor electrice i elecronice, n
vederea reciclrii. Reciclarea ajut la reducerea
consumului de materii prime i polurii mediului
nconjurtor. Informaii privind dezafectarea i
locaia celui mai apropiat centru de reciclare
primii, de ex., de la serviciul de curenie a
oraului, sau din Pagini Galbene.
8.2 Baterii/Acumulatori
Bateriile nu au ce cuta n gunoiul
menajer. Bateriile consumate trebuie
dezafectate regulamentar. n acest scop,
la magazinele care comercializeaz baterii,
precum i n centrele de colectare comunale,
exist recipieni speciali pentru dezafectarea
bateriilor. Bateriile i acumulatorii pe care sunt
scrise urmtoarele litere, conin printre altele i
urmtoarele substane duntoare: Cd (cadmiu),
Hg (mercur), Pb (plumb).
8.3 Ambalajul
Dac dorii s dezafectai ambalajul, respectai
normele corespunztoare de protejare a mediului
din ara dumneavoastr. n Germania,
dezafectai ambalajele prin colectare n sistem
dual (Punctul verde).

2. Gertebeschreibung
2.1 Verwendungszweck
Mit diesem Konvektor SilverCrest
SKT 2300 A1 knnen Sie trockene Wohn-
rume beheizen.
Dieses Gert ist fr den Einsatz in Privat-
haushalten und nicht fr den gewerblichen
Einsatz geeignet.
Das Gert ist geeignet als Zusatzheizung.
Als Alleinheizung fr groe Rume ist es
nicht geeignet.
Das Gert darf ausschlielich auf dem
Boden aufgestellt werden.

3.1 Begriffserklrung

3.2 Allgemeine Hinweise
Lesen Sie vor dem Gebrauch bitte sorg-
fltig diese Bedienungsanleitung. Sie ist
Bestandteil des Gertes und muss jeder-
zeit verfgbar sein.
Verwenden Sie das Gert nur fr den
beschriebenen Verwendungszweck (siehe
2.1 Verwendungszweck auf Seite 57).
berprfen Sie, ob die erforderliche Netz-
spannung (siehe Typenschild am Gert)
mit Ihrer Netzspannung bereinstimmt.
Dieses Gert ist nicht dafr bestimmt,
durch Personen (einschlielich Kinder)
mit eingeschrnkten physischen, sensori-
schen oder geistigen Fhigkeiten oder
mit mangelnder Erfahrung und/oder
mangelndem Wissen benutzt zu werden,
es sei denn, sie werden durch eine fr
ihre Sicherheit zustndige Person beauf-
sichtigt oder erhielten von ihr Anweisun-
gen, wie das Gert zu benutzen ist.
Kinder sollten beaufsichtigt werden, um
sicherzustellen, dass sie nicht mit dem
Gert spielen.
Bei eventuellen Funktionsstrungen darf
die Instandsetzung des Gertes nur
durch unser Service-Center erfolgen.
Das Gert darf ausschlielich auf einem
festen, ebenen, trockenen und nicht brenn-
baren Untergrund aufgestellt werden.
Achten Sie darauf, dass die Steckdose gut
zugnglich ist, damit Sie eventuell den
Netzstecker schnell ziehen knnen.
3.3 Schutz vor elektrischem Schlag
Warnung! Die folgenden Sicher-
heitshinweise sollen Sie vor einem
elektrischen Schlag schtzen.
Schlieen Sie das Gert nur an eine vor-
schriftsmig installierte Schutzkontakt-
steckdose an.
Sollte das Gert zu Boden gefallen sein
oder einen harten Schlag abbekommen
haben, oder sollte es ins Wasser gefallen
sein, drfen Sie es nicht weiterbenutzen.
Wenden Sie sich in diesem Fall an unser

Wenn das Gert beschdigt ist, darf das
Gert keinesfalls benutzt werden. Lassen
Sie das Gert in diesem Falle von quali-
ziertem Fachpersonal reparieren. Die
Service-Adresse nden Sie in
10. Garantie auf Seite 66.
Wenn die Netzanschlussleitung dieses
Gertes beschdigt wird, muss sie durch
den Hersteller oder eine hnlich quali-
zierte Person ersetzt werden, um
Gefhrdungen zu vermeiden.
Benutzen Sie das Gert niemals in
unmittelbarer Nhe eines Splbeckens,
einer Badewanne, einer Dusche oder
eines Schwimmbeckens, da Spritzwasser
in das Gert gelangen knnte.
In das Gert drfen keinesfalls Wasser
oder andere Flssigkeiten gelangen.
Daher:
niemals im Freien einsetzen
niemals mit Flssigkeit gefllte
Gefe, wie Trinkglser, Vasen etc.
auf das Gert stellen
niemals in sehr feuchter Umgebung
wie z.B. einem Badezimmer einsetzen
Falls doch einmal Flssigkeit in das
Gert gelangt, ziehen Sie sofort den
Netzstecker und lassen das Gert von
qualiziertem Fachpersonal reparieren.

Versuchen Sie niemals mit Fingern oder
Gegenstnden durch die Schutzgitter in
das Innere des Gertes zu fassen.
Fassen Sie das Gert, das Netzkabel
oder den Netzstecker niemals mit feuch-
ten Hnden an.
Ziehen Sie das Netzkabel stets am Ste-
cker heraus. Ziehen Sie niemals am
Kabel selber.
Achten Sie darauf, dass das Netzkabel
nie geknickt oder gequetscht wird.
Achten Sie darauf, dass das Netzkabel
nicht durch scharfe Kanten beschdigt
wird.
Halten Sie das Netzkabel von heien
Flchen (z.B. Herdplatte) fern.
Wenn Sie das Gert lngere Zeit nicht
benutzen, ziehen Sie den Stecker aus
der Steckdose. Nur dann ist das Gert
vllig stromfrei.
Die Benutzung von Verlngerungskabeln
sollten Sie vermeiden. Sie ist nur unter
ganz bestimmten Voraussetzungen
gestattet:
Das Verlngerungskabel muss fr die
Stromstrke des Gertes geeignet
sein.
Das Verlngerungskabel darf nicht
iegend verlegt sein: es darf nicht
zur Stolperfalle werden oder von Kin-
dern erreichbar sein.
Das Verlngerungskabel darf keines-
falls beschdigt sein.
Es drfen keine weiteren Gerte als
dieses Gert an der Netzsteckdose
angeschlossen werden, da es sonst zu
einer berlastung des Stromnetzes
kommen kann (Verbot von Mehrfach-
steckdosen!).
Das Gert darf nicht mit einer externen
Zeitschaltuhr oder einem separaten
Fernwirksystem, wie zum Beispiel einer
Funksteckdose, betrieben werden.
3.4 Schutz vor Brandgefahr
Warnung! Da das Gert mit hohen
Temperaturen arbeitet, beachten
Sie die folgenden Sicherheitshin-
weise, damit kein Brand entstehen
kann.
Whrend des Betriebes drfen sich
keine brennbaren Gegenstnde (z.B.

Vorhnge, Papier usw.) in unmittelbarer
Umgebung des Gertes benden.
Benutzen Sie das Gert niemals dazu,
Textilien oder andere Dinge auf, ber
oder vor dem Gert zu trocknen.
Um eine berhitzung zu vermeiden, darf
das Gert niemals abgedeckt werden.
Halten Sie beim Aufstellen des Gertes
einen Mindestabstand von 1,5 m zu
anderen Gerten oder der Wand ein.
Betreiben Sie das Gert nie in explosi-
onsgefhrdeten Rumen oder in der
Nhe von brennbaren Gasen oder Fls-
sigkeiten.
Das Gert darf niemals direkt unter
einer Wandsteckdose aufgestellt wer-
den, da die entstehende Hitze zu Sch-
den an der elektrischen Installation
fhren knnte.
Achten Sie immer darauf, dass die Luft
frei ein- und austreten kann. Ansonsten
kann es zu einem Hitzestau in dem
Gert kommen.
Lassen Sie das Gert nie unbeaufsichtigt
laufen. Schden kndigen sich fast
immer durch intensive Geruchsbildung
an. Ziehen Sie in diesem Falle sofort den
Netzstecker und lassen Sie das Gert
berprfen. Die Service-Adresse nden
Sie in 10. Garantie auf Seite 66.
3.5 Schutz vor Verletzungen
Warnung! Beachten Sie folgende
Hinweise, um Verletzungen zu ver-
meiden.
Achten Sie darauf, dass das Netzkabel nie
zur Stolperfalle wird oder sich jemand
darin verfangen oder darauftreten kann.
Wenn Sie das heie Gert transportie-
ren wollen, schalten Sie es aus, ziehen
den Netzstecker und warten ab, bis sich
das Gert abgekhlt hat. Ansonsten
knnten Sie sich an der heien Ober-
che verbrennen.
3.6 Zur Sicherheit Ihres Kindes
Warnung! Kinder knnen Gefah-
ren oft nicht richtig einschtzen
und sich dadurch Verletzungen
zuziehen. Beachten Sie daher:
Dieses Produkt darf nur unter Aufsicht
von Erwachsenen verwendet werden um
sicherzustellen, dass Kinder nicht mit
dem Gert spielen.
Achten Sie sorgfltig darauf, dass sich
das Gert immer auerhalb der Reich-
weite von Kindern bendet.
Die Fernbedienung enthlt Batterien.
Achten Sie darauf, dass diese niemals in
die Hnde von Kindern geraten und ver-
schluckt werden.
Verschluckte Batterien knnen lebensge-
fhrlich sein. Wurden Batterien ver-
schluckt, holen Sie sofort rtztliche Hilfe.
Achten Sie darauf, dass die Verpa-
ckungsfolie nicht zur tdlichen Falle fr
Kinder wird. Verpackungsfolien sind
kein Spielzeug.
3.7 Umgang mit Batterien
Warnung!
Um eine Explosionsgefahr zu ver-
meiden, drfen normale Batterien
nicht geladen, erhitzt oder durch
Verbrennen beseitigt werden.
Wenn Batteriesure ausgelaufen
ist, vermeiden Sie den Kontakt mit
Haut, Augen und Schleimhuten,
um Verletzungen zu verhindern.
Splen Sie bei Kontakt mit der
Sure die betroffenen Stellen sofort
mit reichlich klarem Wasser und
suchen Sie umgehend einen Arzt
auf.

Vorsicht! Um Schden am Gert zu vermei-
den und die Funktion zu gewhrleisten
beachten Sie:
Tauschen Sie immer alle Batterien zur
gleichen Zeit aus.
Verwenden Sie nicht unterschiedliche
Batterietypen oder neue und alte Batte-
rien gemischt zur gleichen Zeit.
Schlieen Sie Batterien nicht kurz.
Verwenden Sie keine wiederauadbaren
Akkus.
Wird das Gert lngere Zeit nicht ver-
wendet, entnehmen Sie die Batterien.
Auslaufende Batterien knnten sonst das
Gert schdigen.
3.8 Sachschden
Achtung! Um Sachschden zu vermeiden,
beachten Sie folgende Bestimmungen.
Nehmen Sie die Batterien aus der Fern-
bedienung, wenn Sie diese lngere Zeit
nicht benutzen. Durch auslaufende Bat-
terien knnte die Fernbedienung besch-
digt werden.
Achten Sie darauf, dass die Fe korrekt
angebracht sind (siehe 4.2 Gert auf-
stellen auf Seite 61), sonst knnte der
Fuboden verkratzen oder Brandecken
bekommen.
4. Auspacken, aufstellen, Batterie einlegen
4.1 Gert montieren
Bevor das Gert in Betrieb genommen wer-
den kann, mssen die Fe 7 angeschraubt
werden:
1. Nehmen Sie das Gert aus der Verpa-
ckung.
2. Entfernen Sie die Transportverpackung.
3. berprfen Sie, dass das Gert keine
Beschdigungen aufweist.
4. Fhren Sie die Haken der Fe in die
zugehrige ffnung auf der Unterseite
des Gertes ein:
5. Schieben Sie die Fe zur Seite, sodass
die Haken einrasten.
6. Schrauben Sie die Fe mit den mitge-
lieferten Schrauben fest:
4.2 Gert aufstellen
Hinweis! Da das Gert bzw. die Heizele-
mente leicht eingefettet geliefert werden,
kann es bei der ersten Benutzung zu leichter
Rauch- und Geruchsbildung kommen. Dies
ist unschdlich und hrt nach kurzer Zeit
auf. Bitte achten Sie whrenddessen auf
ausreichende Lftung.

Warnung! Achten Sie auf gen-
gend Abstand zur Wand, Einrich-
tungsgegenstnden oder anderen
Gerten. Der Abstand sollte min-
destens 1 m betragen, um eine
Brandgefahr auszuschlieen.
1. Whlen Sie einen Standort, der den
Sicherheitshinweisen entspricht (siehe
3. Sicherheitshinweise auf Seite 58).
2. Stecken Sie den Netzstecker in eine
Steckdose, die den technischen Daten
entspricht.
Hinweis: Sollten Sie noch weitere Ver-
braucher am gleichen Stromkreis ange-
schlossen haben, achten Sie darauf,
dass die maximale Belastbarkeit der
installierten Sicherung nicht berschrit-
ten wird, da sonst die Sicherung auslst.
4.3 Batterie einlegen
Wenn das Gert neu ist oder wenn die Bat-
terien in der Fernbedienung leer sind, ms-
sen neue Batterien vom Typ AAA/R03
eingelegt werden.
1. Drcken Sie die
Verschlusslasche
und heben Sie
den Deckel des
Batteriefaches ab.
2. Entnehmen Sie die alten Batterien, sofern
vorhanden.
Hinweis: Beachten Sie die Entsorgungs-
hinweise (siehe 8.2 Batterien/Akkus
auf Seite 65).
3. Legen Sie neue Batterien ein.
Hinweis: Achten Sie auf die korrekte
Polung (+/). Die korrekte Polung ist auf
dem Boden des Batteriefaches gekenn-
zeichnet.
4. Schlieen Sie das Batteriefach wieder.
5. Bedienen
5.1 Gert in Betrieb nehmen
1. Stecken Sie den Netzstecker in eine
Steckdose, die den technischen Daten
entspricht (siehe 9. Technische Daten
auf Seite 66).
2. Schalten Sie die Stromversorgung ein,
indem Sie den Hauptschalter 8 auf ON
stellen.
Der Hauptschalter 8 leuchtet.
3. Schalten Sie das Gert ein, indem Sie
die Ein-/Aus-Taste 18 drcken.
Das Display 9 leuchtet.
Das Gert ist nun betriebsbereit und kann
mit der Fernbedienung oder dem Bedienfeld
2 bedient werden. Um das Gert ber das
Bedienfeld 2 zu bedienen, muss zuvor die
Abdeckung 3 hochgeklappt werden.
5.2 Temperatur whlen
1. Whlen Sie aus, ob Sie die Temperatur-
anzeige in C oder F haben wollen,
indem Sie die Taste 13 drcken.
Die gewhlte Maeinheit wird durch die
Kontroll-Lampe 12 angezeigt.

2. Drcken Sie die Taste Temperatur
hher 21, um die Soll-Temperatur bis
auf maximal 35 C (95 F) zu erhhen.
Die gewhlte Soll-Temperatur blinkt im
Display 9.
3. Drcken Sie die Taste Temperatur nied-
riger 20, um die Soll-Temperatur bis
auf minimal 10 C (50 F) zu verringern.
Die gewhlte Soll-Temperatur blinkt im
Display 9.
Nach kurzer Zeit blinkt die Temperaturan-
zeige nicht mehr und schaltet auf den
gemessenen Wert um.
Hinweis: Die Temperaturmessung erfolgt
direkt am Gert. Bis auch der gesamte
Raum diese Temperatur erreicht hat, kann
einige Zeit verstreichen.
Sobald die eingestellte Temperatur erreicht
ist, schaltet sich die Heizfunktion automa-
tisch aus und die Kontroll-Leuchten 19 fr
die Heizstufen blinken. Sobald die Soll-Tem-
peratur wieder unterschritten wird, schaltet
sich die Heizfunktion automatisch wieder ein
und die Kontroll-Leuchten 19 fr die Heizstu-
fen leuchten konstant.
5.3 Heizstufe einstellen
Das Gert besitzt drei Heizstufen:
1.000 Watt
1.300 Watt
2.300 Watt
1. Drcken Sie die Taste 17 so oft, bis die
gewnschte Heizstufe eingestellt ist.
Die entsprechende Kontroll-Leuchte 19
leuchtet.
Hinweise:
leuchten beide Kontroll-Leuchten 19,
ist die Heizstufe 2.300 Watt gewhlt,
leuchtet keine Kontroll-Leuchte 19, ist
die Heizfunktion ausgeschaltet,
blinken die Kontroll-Leuchten 19, ist
die Soll-Temperatur erreicht.
2. Drcken Sie die Ventilatortaste 16, um
den Ventilator ein- oder auszuschalten.
Bei eingeschaltetem Ventilator leuchtet
die Kontroll-Lampe 14.
Hinweis: Der Ventilator erzeugt zwar ein
leises Gerusch, sorgt aber fr eine bes-
sere Umwlzung der erhitzten Luft.
5.4 Heizdauer einstellen
Das Gert besitzt einen Timer, mit dem Sie
die gewnschte Heizdauer zwischen 1 und
15 Stunden einstellen knnen. Nach Ablauf
der Heizdauer schaltet das Gert automa-
tisch ab.
1. Drcken Sie die Timer-Taste 11 so oft,
bis die gewnschte Stundenzahl durch
die Kontroll-Leuchten 10 angezeigt wird.
Hinweis: Sie mssen die durch die Kon-
troll-Leuchten 10 angezeigten Stunden
zusammenzhlen. Wenn z.B. 2H und
8H leuchten, betrgt die Heizdauer 10
Stunden.
2. Um den Timer auszuschalten, drcken
Sie die Timer-Taste 11 so oft, bis keine
Kontroll-Leuchte 10 leuchtet.
5.5 berhitzungsschutz
Zu Ihrer Sicherheit besitzt dieses Gert einen
berhitzungsschutz.
Falls die Temperatur im Inneren des Gertes
zu hoch wird, schaltet es sich automatisch
aus:
1. Schalten Sie die Stromversorgun aus,
indem Sie den Hauptschalter 8 auf 0FF
stellen.
2. berprfen Sie, ob der Lufteintritt 6 oder
Luftaustritt 4 behindert ist und beseitigen
Sie die Ursache.

Sollte keine Ursache feststellbar sein und
der Fehler wiederholt auftreten, lassen
Sie das Gert reparieren oder nehmen
es auer Betrieb.
3. Warten Sie ab, bis sich das Gert abge-
khlt hat.
4. Danach knnen Sie es normal weiterbe-
treiben.
5.6 Frostschutz
Um zu verhindern, dass die Temperatur in
einem Raum unter 0 C (32 F) abfllt,
gehen Sie so vor:
1. Schalten Sie die Stromversorgung ein,
indem Sie den Hauptschalter 8 auf ON
stellen.
Der Hauptschalter 8 leuchtet.
2. Schalten Sie das Gert ein, indem Sie
die Ein-/Aus-Taste 18 drcken.
Das Display 9 leuchtet.
Sobald die Temperatur in unmittelbarer
Nhe des Gertes deutlich unter 5 C
(41 F) fllt, schaltet sich die Heizung auto-
matisch mit der grten Heizstufe ein und
heizt den Raum auf etwa 8 C (46 F) auf.
6. Reinigen
Damit Sie lange Freude an Ihrem Gert
haben, sollten Sie es regelmig reinigen.
Warnung! Um die Gefahr eines
elektrischen Schlages oder einer
Verbrennung zu vermeiden:
Ziehen Sie vor jeder Reinigung
den Netzstecker.
Lassen Sie das Gert abkhlen.
Tauchen Sie das Gert nie in
Wasser.
Lassen Sie kein Wasser oder
Reinigungsmittel in das Gert
laufen.
1. Entfernen Sie grobe Staubablagerungen
in den Schutzgittern vorsichtig mit einem
Staubsauger.
2. Die Reste entfernen Sie mit einer wei-
chen Brste.
3. Reinigen Sie das Gert auen mit einem
feuchten Lappen. Sie knnen auch etwas
Splmittel nehmen.
Vorsicht! Verwenden Sie niemals scharfe
oder scheuernde Reinigungsmittel, da

8.1 Gert
Das Symbol der durchgestri-
chenen Abfalltonne auf Rdern
bedeutet, dass das Produkt in
der Europischen Union einer
getrennten Mllsammlung
zugefhrt werden muss. Dies
gilt fr das Produkt und alle mit diesem Sym-
bol gekennzeichneten Zubehrteile.
Gekennzeichnete Produkte drfen nicht ber
den normalen Hausmll entsorgt werden,
sondern mssen an einer Annahmestelle fr
das Recycling von elektrischen und elektroni-
schen Gerten abgegeben werden. Recyc-
ling hilft, den Verbrauch von Rohstoffen zu
reduzieren und die Umwelt zu entlasten.
Informationen zur Entsorgung und zur Lage
des nchsten Recyclinghofes erhalten Sie
z.B. bei Ihrer Stadtreinigung oder in den
Gelben Seiten.
8.2 Batterien/Akkus
Batterien drfen nicht in den Haus-
mll. Verbrauchte Batterien mssen
sachgerecht entsorgt werden. Zu die-
sem Zweck stehen im Batterien vertreiben-
den Handel sowie bei den kommunalen
Sammelstellen entsprechende Behlter zur
Batterie-Entsorgung bereit. Batterien und
Akkus, die mit den folgenden Buchstaben
versehen sind, beinhalten u.a. die Schad-
stoffe: Cd (Cadmium), Hg (Quecksilber),
Pb (Blei).
