Strengths:
72.6% of students in 4th grade math are a level four in
math, which is higher than the state which is at 42.7%.
n 4th grade they are consistently higher than the state.
They are also consistently passing higher than the state
in reading.
Weaknesses:
Students have shown a weakness in their ability to do
fractions.
School lacks diversity.
As they get older in some cases they tend to not get as
high in the gap between the state versus the school test
scores.
Math percentages are higher than their reading.
Strengths:
Met AYP attendance rates which were greater than
95%.
Trace Crossings Attendance Rate was 97%.
1st nine weeks 2011-2012 school year there were
0 reported students missing more than 10 days
2nd nine weeks for 2011-2012 there were 7
reported students missing more than 10 days
(improvement from 9 2010-2011)
Flexible grouping within the classroom to support
reading and instruction
Weaknesses:
76 students as of August, 2012 were new to the
school this year.
Continued emphasis is needed on differentiated
instruction at the Tier level.
Scores decreased from 2010-2011 to 2011-2012.

Standardized testing done for each core


teacher that is given once a grading period,
or every nine weeks.
n the classroom the teacher showed how
she kept up with the levels -- the students
are each given a secret number and there is
a chart on the wall.
After each grading period the chart is
updated using push pins to show the level
they reached on the test.
Before state mandated Global Scholar, they
used other problems such as Reading
Benchmarks Fountas and Pinnell Fir

(language arts, math, science/social
studies) covered by three different
teachers in a rotation.
Teachers are required to sit together
for each others professional
development even it is not in their
own subject area.
