T$e %entre is *elco&ing and accessi-le to t$e Parkdale co&&unity+ gi,ing priority to
indi,iduals and groups *$o encounter -arriers to $ealt$ ser,ices. T$e centre pro,ides
progra&s and ser,ices -ased on co&&unity needs and t$e deter&inants o" $ealt$+
especially po,erty+ racis&+ ,iolence and syste&ic discri&ination.
T$e %entre is a not/"or/pro"it corporation and also is a registered c$arita-le
organi0ation.
T$e Parkdale %o&&unity 'ealt$ %entre 1oard o" !irectors is a 23/&e&-er co&&unity
-oard *orking in a policy go,ernance &odel. 4e are currently seeking to "ill -oard
,acancies. T$e ter& o" a 1oard Me&-er is appro5i&ately t$ree years.
Responsibilities:
Attend &ont$ly 1oard Meetings on t$e last Tuesday o" t$e &ont$ and t$e Annual
6eneral Meeting7
Participate in at least one -oard co&&ittee+ *$ic$ includes occasional &eetings7
Attend t$e annual -oard orientation and additional occasional planning sessions
(typically $eld on *eekends#7
!eter&ine policies and procedures7
8nsure t$e organi0ation ad$eres to its &ission+ ,ision and ,alues
!e,elop t$e organi0ational ai&s (ends state&ents# and &onitor t$eir
