c. Classroom Use: While Sal Khan has more to offer than math, I think that his math
tutoring videos and practice problems (that become smarter as you gain mastery!) will
be fabulous to help kids that are both struggling and those who may be a bit
accelerated.

c. Classroom Use: See the stars even when theyre not out! You can point the phone up to
see where the stars (and constellations) are positioned and continue tracking them
throughout the day. You can also see the stars in the southern hemisphere by simply
pointing the phone at the ground.

c. Classroom Use: For ELLs or those who simply want to learn another language, Duolingo
is great. They have lessons set up right from the phone or tablet that can be
supplemented online. Helps students learn a new language or practice in a logical
developmental way.

c. Classroom Use: thousands of books available at the childs fingertips. They can peruse
books that they are interested in and read quietly. They can also use it from their
computer at home. No more having to wait to go to the library, kids can read at their
pace and what theyre interested in.

7. SpellingCity.com

c. Classroom Use: This makes learning vocabulary and spelling fun! Can be done from the
computer or from any number of devices. Spelling on a computer or texting is the 21

century. The kids plug in their headphones, the word is read to them, and they type it in
to spell it correctly. Quizzes and grades are sent right to the teacher.
