lace trim

2" x 22" [5.1- x 55.9-cm] piece
of fusible fleece
Sewing needle and
monofilament fishing line
Craft glue or glue gun
Worsted-weight or plastic
canvas yarn; for amounts

CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS:
A: For lid top, cut one accord-
ing to graph.
B: For lid sides, cut two 5 x 38
holes (no graph).
C: For lid ends, cut two 5 x 19
holes (no graph).
D: For lid corners, cut four 5 x
12 holes (no graph).
E: For box sides, cut two 13 x
36 holes.
F: For box ends, cut two 13 x
17 holes (no graph).
G: For box corners, cut four
12 x 13 holes (no graph).
H: For box bottom, cut one ac-
cording to graph.
I: For hearts, cut three ac-
cording to graph.
J: For spacers, cut twenty-
four 4 x 4 holes (no graph).
STITCHING INSTRUCTIONS:
NOTE: H and J pieces are not
worked.
1: Using colors and stitches indi-
cated, work A-G (work F pieces
according to End Pattern and G
pieces according to Corner Pattern
established on E) and two I pieces
according to graphs and stitch
pattern guide; substituting white for
turquoise, work remaining I ac-
cording to graph. With matching
colors, Overcast edges of I pieces.
2: With white, Whipstitch A-D
pieces together according to Lid As-
sembly Diagram; Overcast unfin-
ished edges. Whipstitch fleece and E-
H (rotate pieces so pattern continues
around box) pieces together
according to Box Assembly Diagram.
3: Glue pearl strand around front
of one blue heart, cord around front
of white heart and lace trim around
back of remaining blue heart as
shown in photo, trimming away
excess as needed to fit.
4: For each heart, glue eight
spacers together and to wrong side of
one I as indicated on graph. Glue
hearts together and to lid (see
photo).
