The Board of Trustees, Firemen's Relief and Pension Fund oversees the administration of
the Firemen's Pension Plan and investment of Pension Funds. The Board is composed of five
members. Two members are appointed by City Council, two members elected by firemen and one
appointed by other four members. This appointment/reappointment is for two (2) years, expiring
December 31, 2011. Council appointees are required to be residents of the city.
The term of Mr. Samuel A. Horton will expire December 31, 2009. Mr. Horton has
indicated he would like to be considered for reappointment.
Attached for Council's information is a list of the current members of this Board and Mr.
Horton's attendance record. A nomination form is also attached for Council's use.
Nomination forms should be submitted to the City Clerk's office by 5:00 p.m., Friday,
November 19, 2009 for consideration at the Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday,
December 14, 2009.
