The US Department of Justice says Albuquerque police officers routinely place themselves in situations resulting in excessive force.
On Apr. 25, 2014 an encounter between a DWI suspect and APD officer ends with a groin strike to the suspect which cost him a testicle. The officer did not report the strike, nor seek hospital care.
Though the suspect has been publicly identified in other sources, we chose to use only his initials until court proceedings are complete.
