1. RATIONALE:
Febnrary is declared as Philippine Arc Festival also known as National Arts Month per hesidential
Proclamation No. 683. This year's Arts Month Theme is

The Edgf . Tho ACPAZ is an accredited
cultural association of the National Commission for Culturo and the Arts
NCCA)
and the City Government of
Zamboonga It is also a mqnber of tre International University Thcairsr Association (IUTA) and Culture, Arts &
History Council of Zamboanga
(CAHC). The ACPAZ has always been at the foretront leading all other
government and non-government agoncies in celebrating thc month-long Arts Festival and honoring displaying
and presen ing the oity's rich culnral tradition Srough various forms of arts.
Aware of the rationale and objectives of the National Celebration, ACPAZ in cooperation with WMSU
and DepFd-D(

Division of City Schoots, take the initiative to hot swh celebration with various astivities in the
month of Febnrary. The purpose of which is to continuc advocat culhral awarelrcss among its local rpsidents
and to relate the importance of the Arts Month.
For this year, the following astivities are planned: Parade; Opening kogram; Vi$al Arts Seminar on
Comics Chabacano; Visual Arts Competition; Vocal Duet Compctition in Chabacano; National Siltinar
Worlshop; and FollclEthnic Cultural Show.
2. IMPACT:
The National Arts Monfh will finther elevatc the levol of appreciation. At the same time, the celebration
will promote the significance of the National Arts Month imbibing among the tocal rcsidcnts the stnong sense of
nationhood and prido. Evcry member of tho community will develop strong feeling of responsibility to pttscrve,
dwslop and promoto culturc both of its tangible and intangible heriages.
3, PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
2014 N*ional Arts Month Celebration is spearheodod by the Arrdrdon of Crcotvc end Performing
Artlltr of Zmboeng& Inc. (ACPAZ). The celeb,ration will kick offwith a parade around main oity stnects and
will end at Plaza Pershing whr an Opening Progran will be held. The project is in coordination with WMSU;
peeartnnt
of Education DC Division of City Schmls; Commission of Higher Education and othet government
and non-govcrnment agencics and organizations.
The ac'tivities are planned/scheduled throughout the month of Febnrary.
