TO : The Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan Community
RE : XU-CSG Organizational Development Activities
DATE : 23 May 2014

Last 3-4 May 2014, key officers of the XU-CSG Executive Cabinet had a leadership retreat at Covadonga
Center for Culture and Spirituality, Mandumol, Macasandig, Cagayan de Oro City. This overnight
leadership retreat was attended by at least eighteen (18) key officers of the student government, and was
facilitated by the Executive Assistant to the XU President, Ms Ma Elena L Paulma, PhD. The retreat
revolved around the theme, heroic leadership.

Select XU-CSG officers and newly-hired staff members actively participated in this years XU-CSG Basic
Orientation and Leadership Training Seminar (BOLTS) held last 16-18 May 2014 at Mapawa Nature Park,
Malasag, Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City. More than fifty (50) participants graced the annual XU-CSG
BOLTS last weekend. XU-Governance and Leadership Institute Director and former municipal mayor of
Opol, Mr Dixon Q Yasay, PhD, served as the keynote speaker in this years XU-CSG BOLTS. Various
leadership inputs and teambuilding activities were done in order to prepare the XU-CSG team in a year
of service and representation.

With this, I would like to acknowledge the efforts of the following people and groups who made our
organizational development activities a success:
1. The entire XU-CSG Department of Student Leadership and Development team, headed by
Ian Dave Pahunang (Project Head), for the success of the first-ever XU-CSG Leadership
Retreat; and
2. The whole XU-CSG Department of Internal Administration team and active volunteer
facilitators, headed by Ruffy A Mapano (Secretary for Internal Administration), for the
success of the annual BOLTS.
Thank you so much for the dedication, time, and enthusiasm you have poured for these endeavors in
order to establish a more harmonious working environment, and a more synergized teamwork inside the
student government. Congratulations for a job well done!

I also thank all the officers and staff of the XU-Central Student Government who participated in the
organizational development activities held this month. It is my hope that through these activities, you
will be prepared and be more inspired to serve, represent, and lead the student body.
