Bahraini teenager
dies after clashes
with police: activists
A Bahraini teenager died on
Wednesday after clashes
between security forces
and demonstrators marking
the third day of mourning
for a young man killed by a
bomb blast last week,
witnesses and activists
said.
The Interior Ministry said
police was investigating a
report that a dead person
had been brought into a
clinic in the Shi'ite Muslim
town of Sitra, south of the
capital Manama.
The Gulf Arab kingdom,
home to the U.S. Fifth
Fleet, has suffered low-
level civil unrest since mass
protests in 2011 led by
Shi'ites demanding reforms
and a bigger share of
power in the Sunni-led
state.

on Wednesday in clashes
with police at a Shiite
village near the capital
Manama, the main Shiite
opposition bloc Al-Wefaq
said.
"Mahmud Mohsen
succumbed to his wounds
after being hit by buckshot
on Wednesday in Sitra," Al-
Wefaq said on Twitter.
The interior ministry said
police had been notied
that a dead person was
admitted to a clinic in Sitra,
and added that an
investigation was
underway.
Witnesses said the clashes
broke out in the afternoon
during a ceremony to mark
the death of a Shiite killed
in an explosion on Friday
last week.

in clashes with police at a

Manama, according to the
country's main
Shia opposition bloc, al-
Wefaq.
Witnesses said the ghting
broke out on Wednesday
afternoon during a
ceremony to mark the
death of Ali Faisal al-
Akrawi, a Shia killed in an
explosion on May 16.

group Al Wefaq National
Islamic Society announced
on Wednesday that a 15
year-old youth had died
during clashes with police
in Sitra village, east of the
capital Manama.
Al Wefaq claimed the
deceased, identied as
Mahmoud Mohsin, died as
a result of bird shot
wounds. The Interior
Ministry conrmed that the
Sitra Health Center
received a dead person.
The clashes broke out
during the third day of the
funeral procession of 19-
year-old Ali Faisal Al Akrawi
who died last week while
planting a bomb targeting
policemen.

Egyptian teachers
Bahrain has denied online
reports that it was recruiting
805 Egyptian teachers for
the new academic year.
The Ministry of Education
did not put out any ad in
any newspaper to recruit
teachers from Egypt or any
other Arab country, the
ministry said in a statement.
The ministry is always
keen on hiring teachers
from Bahrain under a
selection of applications
based on the merit system.
The ministry did put ads in
the local media in March to
recruit teachers in specic
specialities for the
2014-2015 academic year
and conducted interviews
and tests for the applicants.

seeing his asylum
application rejected by UK
immigration authorities.
Isa Haider Alaali, 19, is due
to be deported to Bahrain
on Thursday morning
despite having been
sentenced in absentia to
ve years in jail for illegal
gathering and rioting during
a 2011 uprising.
The teenager, whose
asylum application was
rejected twice, claims he
will likely be imprisoned and
tortured in the repressive
Gulf Kingdom if deported.

A Bahraini MP has been
sacked for the rst time
since parliament was
formed in the kingdom 12
years ago.
An overwhelming majority
of MPs (31 of 34 present)
voted in a secret ballot on
Tuesday to oust Osama Al
Tamimi four weeks before
National Assembly
elections are due, Gulf
Daily News reported.
On Monday, parliament's
legislative and legal affairs
committee had
recommended Al Tamimi be
sacked for disrespecting
parliament, insulting
colleagues and improper
conduct, following an
investigation.
