In Pakistan more than 80% population has not been provided safe drinking water. In Sargodha region the underground water is highly polluted due to down flow of salts from the Salt Range as well as other minerals in that area. It is the reason that the maximum percentage of patients at Sargodha are suffering from kidney diseases as well as liver problems. Keeping in view the situation, a project was launched to provide safe and healthy drinking water with the name Khush Aab. For this purpose reverse osmoses plant has been installed from which water obtained is being treated with ozone gas and then mixing of essential minerals are added. 3. FM radio 98.2
FM Campus Radio (VOV) has been launched as an integral part of university's developmental plan. VOV can be tuned in anywhere within its radius while studying, driving, cooking, working in the fields or relaxing in the bed. In the present technological revolution and transformation, FM broadcast has taken the world by storm. It has taken a lead by virtue of its line of sight propagation of waves and smaller range resulting in good quality and reliable signals. The feature that gives superiority to FM broadcast is its working as community radio, broadcasting programs in the languages and dialects of a particular region giving sophistication to the tastes and styles of the natives. Tissue culture lab: Tissue Culture Lab
The main initial achievement of this project is the culture of Stevia which is actually native of subtropical and tropical regions (North America to South America). The extracts of stevia are up to 300 times sweeter than ordinary sugar (sucrose). Due to being absolutely caloric- free low carbohydrate, low-sugar food alternatives the extract is likely to attract enormous demand. Medical research has also shown possible benefits of stevia in treating obesity and high blood pressure. Because stevia has a negligible effect on blood glucose, it is attractive as a natural sweetener to people on carbohydrate-controlled diets. At present, the cultured stevia is grown 1.5 acres in the University College of Agriculture.
