Literature
Objective:
No. of Students:1

By the end of the class the student will have understood the first
eight lines of the poem Butterfly by Douglas English, completed
the assigned dictionary work and understood how to structure a
summary from the poem.

Initial Stage:

The student will be asked for the H.W. from the previous day, and
then to read through the poem out-loud so as to help improve the
pronunciation skills of the student.

Development Stage:

Stage One

Each line of the poem will be explained, through teacher
student interaction so that the student can have a clear grasp on
the content of the poem, the teacher will then allow the student
to air any questions so as to clarify confusions.

Stage Two

The student will then be asked to do Dictionary Work from the
underlined words. (Refer to Radiant Reading Book)

Stage Three

The student will then be taught the four step process to writing a
summary for a poem, with an example (i.e.- Jim Jay).

Cumulative:

The student was then assigned a summary of the poem as H.W.
along with any incomplete C.W.

Remarks:

The student was moderately attentive, but had numerous leftover
H.W. mainly correction work.

Objective:

By the end of the class the student will understand the problems
rising in his C.W. and H.W. and then be introduced to Rip Van
Winkle II.

Initial Stage:

The student will be asked for the H.W. from the previous day.

Development Stage:

Stage One

Each incomplete H.W. will checked, and the student will be
allowed to clarify any confusions he was facing with his C.W.

Stage Two

The student will then be asked to do Dictionary Work from the
underlined words in Rip Van Winkle II. (Refer to Radiant Reading
Book)


Cumulative:

The student was then assigned the incomplete C.W. as H.W.

Remarks:

The student was moderately attentive, but had numerous leftover
H.W. mainly correction work.

By the end of the class the student will have understood the
concept of Gender in English Language.

Initial Stage:

The student will be asked for the H.W. from the previous day, and
then be given a short recap of the previous Language topic
Apostrophe.

Development Stage:

Stage One

The child will be introduced to the topic of Gender through a brief
dissection of nouns/pronouns. He will then become acquainted
with the four types of Gender words: Male, Female, Neutral, and
Common.

Stage Two

The student will then be provided with a list of Gender words and
asked to use five words from each category to make sentences.
Eg He, she , it , table etc.

Stage Three

The student will then complete Page 40 of the Junior English
Book.

Cumulative:

The student will then be assigned Page 26, 29, 58 and any
incomplete C.W as H.W.

rising in his C.W. and H.W. and then be re-introduced to Rip Van
Winkle II.

Initial Stage:

By the end of the class the student will understand the problems
rising in his C.W. and H.W. and have the story Rip Van Winkle II
explained to him.

Development Stage:

Stage One

The student with begin to read the Rip Van Winkle II out-loud, in
order to facilitate better pronunciation skills.

Stage Two

The teacher will clearly explain, line by line, the content of the
story, to the student.

Stage Three

The teacher will then explain the exercise questions to the
student orally, who will then be asked to complete them as H.W.

Cumulative:

The teacher will recap the class and then ask the student to
complete the set exercise questions.
