PVC-300 Static Dissipative Plastic Sheet

Description
PVC-300 is a plastic sheet product designed to
control static electricity for a wide range of end uses. It
is a high quality polyvinyl chloride sheet which has
been surfaced with proprietary, clear, C-300 static
dissipative surfacing. This unique technology prevents
charge generation on the sheet surfaces, thereby
controlling particulate attraction and preventing
electrostatic discharge !"#$ events. This perfor%ance
is per%anent and totally independent of hu%idity.
PVC-300 offers e&ceptional design versatility since it
fabricates si%ply, is light in weight and is available in
large sheet si'es. It also e&hibits e&cellent che%ical
resistance, surface hardness, and %ar resistance, plus
superior fla%e spread properties.

Applications
PVC-300 resists tribocharging under all circu%stances
and cannot generate a charge when properly grounded.
This %a(es it ideal for use in %anufacturing and
asse%bly operations for charge sensitive electronic
co%ponents where it can help prevent both i%%ediate
and latent !"# caused defects. "ince it resists charge
build-up it does not attract conta%inants, so it can also
help prevent conta%ination-related re)ects in ultra-
clean %anufacturing operations. Consequently, it is
suitable for use in the se%i-conductor, electronic, and
%icro-%anufacturing industries. Typical applications
include* covers, windows, doors, and access panels for
electronic equip%ent, asse%bly %achines and
instru%ents* transparent partitions* process equip%ent
enclosures* and fabricated desiccators, cabinets, and
bo&es. The product also has %any general industrial
uses, including protection for static charge sensitive
%anufacturing devices and control of spar( discharge in
e&plosive environ%ents.

Fabrication
PVC-300 is easily fabricated into flat surface
configurations using the sa%e equip%ent and
fabrication techniques generally e%ployed with
unsurfaced +,C sheet products. It should not be used
for heat for%ed bent configurations since the hard,
cured C-300 surface is not designed for heat bending.
-hen solvent welding, it is necessary to re%ove the C-
300 surface %echanically to achieve a good bond. .or
