namelyLaiChiKokDrainageTunnelandHarbourAreaTreatmentScheme(HATS)Stage
2A,tohelpourmembersunderstandsomeoftheachievementsoftheDrainageServices
Departmentsmegaprojects:

TheLaiChiKokDrainageTunnelprojectaimstosolvetheproblemofhugeflowscoming
fromNorthwestKowloonmidleveltothehabourviathecoastalurbanareasintheLai
Chi Kok, Cheung Sha Wan and Sham Shui Po area. This project has received many
professionalawardsandtheworkshavebeencompleted.

The HATS Stage 2A project covers the construction of the sewage conveyance system
comprisinganetworkofinterconnectedsewagetunnelsandverticalshaftsforcollecting
sewage from the preliminary treatment works in Hong Kong Island, and aims at
improvingthewaterqualityofVictoriaHarbour. Theworksarestillunderconstruction.
