Heaven and Hell Shall Pass Away But Not Our Love (A Romance Duet in Prose)
Heaven and Hell Shall Pass Away But Not Our Love (A Romance Duet in Prose)
Poem:
Canto 1
A lady’s note to her love:
My gallant knight,
I miss you,
I am dying,
Day by day,
Wishing you were here,
With me,
Kissing me,
Touching me,
Loving me,
My love…
Canto 2
Her gentleman replies:
Love!
My Venus,
My life,
My reason for being alive,
On this prison Earth,
When I received your note,
I cried,
As a child,
Restlessly,
Knowing that I caused you such harm…
Canto 3
A lady’s note to her love:
My Prince,
Of glorious power,
Do not torment yourself,
For you have caused me,
No harm,
It is I who has caused you,
Much anguish,
For it was I the one,
Who was not free,
To initiate this romance…
Canto 4
Her gentleman replies:
Love!
My Helen of Troy,
My life,
Do not be harsh on thyself,
For Cupid,
Can take no credit,
For our romance,
For you and I,
Have a rendezvous,
With the stars…
Canto 6
Her gentleman replies:
Love!
My Cleopatra,
My life,
My everything,
I long for you,
More than words can ever express,
This poet is left,
Wordless,
Wishing only to kiss,
Your lips…
Canto 7
A lady’s note to her love:
My King,
Of keen wisdom,
Where do I find the strength,
Living,
Without you?
I am not strong,
I am afraid,
Of the unknown,
Of not having you,
In my world!
Canto 8
Her gentleman replies:
Love!
My Helen of Troy,
My life,
My dream come true,
Canto 9
A lady’s note to her love:
My Prince,
Of endless love,
My lover,
My man,
My lord,
You have placed my heart at ease,
My spirit is calm,
Knowing that you have faith, in us,
Knowing that you still love, me,
Although we are far apart…
Canto 10
Her gentleman replies:
Love!
My Athena,
My life,
My Goddess,
Heaven and Hell,
Shall pass away,
But not our love!
For you are my strength and in you I have found,
My reason for living,
And dying…
