Satoko

I dont know what to say...

What a cruel world. Did you know from the beginning?
No, its not like that. I didnt know from the beginning. Its the truth.
But you realized in the middle, didnt you!
That...
Why didnt you say it? Why didnt you tell me? Why?
Calm down, calm down.
In such a big world, why did I meet you? Why didnt you tell me? You knew it, right?
Im really sorry. The more time passed... my... I... Basically, it became so hard to say, because you
were so happy. To tell the truth, I dont know why.
I dont want to hear it anymore.
Satoko, I know you wouldnt have listened to me even if I told you or explained it to you.
How would you know that?
With something like this, you would have been angry at whatever I said. Thats the natural response. Its really hard right now because you just found out. As time goes by, your wound will
heal. Every day, I think to myself, I could have prevented this accident. But I cant run away from
this reality. I came here to apologize and say good bye. Take care.

Grammar Points
Todays grammar point is the X ba X hodo Y construction, which is used to indicate a relationship between
X and Y in which the more that X happens, the more that Y happens, or the more of X that exists, the
more of Y that exists. If X is great, then Y is great. If X is small, then Y is small.
The construction is created by taking the conditional ~ba form of a verb or an adjective, repeating it in its
plain form, and adding hodo. The thing or state to which it is compared then follows. Note that -na adjectives, not directly having a ba form of their own, use de areba.
