Dear Members and Friends of the St. Peters
Family:

June. At the end of this month were half way
through another year. Does that seem as
incredible to you as it does to me? Time
seems to be passing by at a breakneck speed.

June. Schools soon out and summer
vacations are beginning. Vacations are a
wonderful change of pace from the rest of the
year. Hopefully your vacation days are a time
to recharge and relax and rest and come back
to work and school reinvigorated and
renewed.

June. This is the month our high schools will
hold graduations and our youth will begin a
new chapter in their lives as they prepare for
further education or work or military service.
Its an important milestone in the lives of
these youth. We hold them in our prayers in
these days of celebration and transition.

June. The month of the festival of Pentecost
and day of Confirmation for six of our St.
Peters youth. This is the day when they will
make a public profession of their faith and
move from child membership to confirmed
membership in the church as they take on
greater responsibility in the church.

June. Its summer, and yet, we still gather
every Sunday to worship God and study His
Holy Word. See you in church!

In joyful partnership with you in Christs
service,

Pastor Leon A. Rawl

Carolinas Mission District
Convocation 2014 The fourth
annual convocation of the Carolinas Mission
District of the NALC will be held on Friday
and Saturday, May 30 and 31, at Union
Lutheran Church in Salisbury, NC. You are
invited to attend. If you would like to go,
please contact Pastor Rawl right away for a
registration form.

Save the Date Annual
Missions Market This years
Mission Market is set for
Saturday, November 15. We need
each and every one of you to be a
part of helping with the market.
To volunteer, please see Clyde
Sanders or call/email 359-7171
or sanders@sprynet.com. We
can use all kinds of talent before, during, and after
the market. We raised over $14,000 last year and
four organizations benefitted from our efforts.
Lets do that again this year, and we can with YOU!

Busters Bible Study will NOT meet in
May. Our next young adult bible study will
be June 22 at the home of Adam and Vickie
Davis (705 Casco Court). We will be studying
the second chapter of James.

Sympathy We extend sincere Christain
sympathy to:
The family of Nevin Whiteside. Nevin
died on April 30. The funeral was at St.
Peters on May 2.
Dave Evans at the death of his mother,
Doris Evans.
Brenda Rawl at the death of her sister, Jan
Sharpe.
Kelli Abercrombie at the death of her
father.
The family of Rose Hyman. The funeral
was at St. Peters on May 19.

Primary Elections in the PLC on
June 10. The church office will be open as
usual.

New Pictorial DirectoryCouncil
has authorized a new pictorial directory for
our congregation later this year. We will self-
publish the directory as we did last time.
Larry James has again graciously agreed to do
the photography. We will need some folks
who can help organize this project and assist
with the photography sessions. If you can
help, please contact Larry James or Pastor
Rawl. Pictures will be taken in August.

Unable to Come to Worship due to
physical or other problems? If so, Pastor
Rawl will gladly visit you in your home and
bring you the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
Just call the church office at 359-2470 to
request a visit.

The Ministry of HospitalityDid
you speak a word of to welcome that person
you didn't know at worship last Sunday? Its
important that you do. The number one
reason people begin worshipping with a new
congregation is because they have been made
to feel welcome by someone in that church.

A Summer Garage
Sale is planned for
Saturday, June 7th from
8:00 a.m. to 12 noon. All
proceeds will go to our
annual Missions Market.
With spring cleaning
upon us, now is a good
time to clean out and
donate! Adult and children's clothes and
shoes, purses, jewelry, belts, baby items,
furniture, glassware, kitchen items,
decorative items, linens, toys, etc. will be
accepted. Please put the items in the room to
the right in the old fellowship hall. Thank you
for your support.

Dear Pastor Rawl and Members of St. Peters,

I would like to thank you for your visits, cards, calls and your
loving support over the years and during the passing of my dad, F.
Raymond Meetze. We love our St. Peters family.

Blessings,
Margie Bundrick and Family

Dear Pastor Rawl and St. Peters Congregation,

Thank you so much for the prayers and very generous donation of $1,645.00 for building
materials to The Hope and Life School in Ouro Fino, Brazil. David has worked very hard building
this school and homes for the street kids. He uses all money and resources very wisely.
As we were leaving Brazil he told us that we got more work completed than he dreamed he
would. We were all blessed by going to the project and helping out. The best blessing was that we
had good health while we were there.
Dwight and I are truly blessed to be in this congregation that is so loving, sharing and car-
ing.

Thanks again,
Dwight and Kay Davis Amick

Dear Christian Friends,

Thank you for your generous donation to our church family. It has been almost a year
since we started on this journey, and we have many baby steps to go. With your help, we are able
to continue on our journey to grow in our Christian faith.
Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and friendship.

New Hope Lutheran Church

Dear St. Peters and Friends,

A big thank you goes out to all who helped with the snack sack ministry this year. The
ministry would not be successful with out the love and care of our members (and non-members)
who provided bags, food, money, holiday treats, packing, delivering and purchasing. We served
127 students this year and look forward to 2014-2015 as we provide food for hungry children.

Dear St. Peters,

The family of Bernice Harmon acknowledges with deep appreciation your kind expression
of sympathy.

With Love,
Linda Ballington and Tommy Harmon

Thank you!

A huge thank you to everyone for all the help with Relay for Life. We had 172 Luminary
bags! The bags were beautiful and a special thanks to Kathy Love for cutting hearts with a cross
and labeling each bag.
