Product Information

RA2 1403 F

RA2 1403 F is a anion exchange resin with tertiary and quaternary amino groups based on
polystrene. RA2 1403 F is a monodispersed resin with uniform particle size distribution.

RA2 1403 F is characterized as having high chemical and osmotic stability. RA2 1403 F is
especially suited for solutions containing high levels of organic materials or colorants, showing good
adsorption and high resistance to organic fouling. RA2 1403 F is in chemical compliance with
FDA regulations FCN 55.

Applications include: removal of acid and simultaneous decolorization of solutions of organic
substances, e.g. sugar, gelatine, glycerine, grape must, whey, fruit concentrates. etc. RA2 1403 F is
ideal for use in standard cocurrent or modern packed bed countercurrent systems.

Additional Information and Regulations

Start-up

When using RA2 1403 F for potable water or food applications listed above, special care should be
given to the initial cycles of the new resin. The resin should be rinsed with 20 bed volumes of rinse
water at a flow rate of 3-5 gpm/sq.ft. at ambient temperature.

Safety precautions

Strong oxidants, e.g. nitric acid, can cause violent reactions when in contact with ion exchange
resins.

Toxicity

The material safety data sheet must be observed. The MSDS contains additional data on product
description, transport, storage, handling, safety and ecology.

Storage

It is recommended to store ion exchange resins at temperatures above the freezing point of water. Ion
exchange resin should not be stored in direct sunlight. If the resin should become frozen, the resin
should be left to thaw out at ambient temperature before handling. No attempt should be made to
accelerate the thawing process.

Disposal

The MSDS contains additional data on product safety and disposal.
