Subject: Slogan Competition - Strengthening trust between consumers and

Strengthening trust between consumers and traders. This is the chosen theme for
this years celebrations of World Consumer Rights Day which was first commemorated
on 15
th
March 1962 by President John F. Kennedy when the first four consumer rights were
identified. Later on, these four rights became the eight we know today. These are:
The right to satisfaction of basic needs
The right to safety
The right to be informed
The right to choose
The right to be heard
The right to redress
The right to consumer education
The right to a healthy environment
To commemorate this historical event, the Consumer and Competition Department is inviting
students aged between 11 and 16 years to create a slogan on the theme: Strengthening
trust between consumers and traders Insau l-fiduja bejn il-konsumatur u n-
negozji.
To participate, students need to submit an original slogan illustrating this theme. All entries
are to be sent via email by the school and addressed to fair.trading@gov.mt by Friday 25
