At the end of every school year, one of the nations best flm schools, Dodge College of Film & Media Arts at Chapman University, hosts the Cecil Awards, an award show highlighting the accomplishments of its incredible students. Dodge students are truly unique: they get a liberal arts education, learn how to tell a story with impact, network with tomorrows Scorceses, all while exploring the college social scene. Life isnt all that bad studying at the Hollywood Reporter s number 7 ranked flm school, and the oportunities Dodge students are given allow them to be limitless in their work. The Cecil Awards is the fnal night before graduation for students and their families to celebrate the past four years of sleepless nights and energy drinks and honor an inspired collection of student work. The night recognizes over 20 awards in flm, television, public relations, advertising, and digital arts. THE OPPORTUNITY The Cecil Awards will showcase the work of Dodges students to an audience of over 500 students and their families on May 23, 2014. The celebration will begin at Dodge College with a pre-party, followed by the show, and concluding with an after-party. While other sponsors are involved in the event, the Cecil Awards presents PepsiCo with the exclusive opportunity to be the premier sponsor of the 2014 show. With the premier sponsorship, PepsiCo will have the opportunity to permeate its message throughout the entire night. Through product integration and brand placements, attendees will not only see PepsiCo but experience it. Along with this comes the association of PepsiCo with The Cecil Awards. Wherever the event is marketed, displayed, or discussed as it will be named: The Cecil Awards 2014 Presented by PepsiCo. THE PREMIER SPONSORSHIP | $10,000 + PRODUCTS MARKETING INTEGRATON We plan to integrate PepsiCo brands into every aspect of the Cecils experience, beginning with the marketing. Along with seamless social media tie-ins to our offcial Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts, Pepsi will also have a presence on our website and product integrations into our on-campus promotions. THE AFTER PARTY We begin by naming the Cecil Awards after-party: The #KickstartYourNight After Party. Not only does the name ft the wants and needs of the young demographic, but it also perfectly mirrors the experience of Mountain Dew Kickstart. After seeing the success of last year s after party that featured dancing, a bar, performances, and loud music we knew that the idea of #KickstartYourNight ft perfectly. This name will be branded at all sales points online, through social media, and through all on-campus marketing efforts. #KICKSTARTYOURNIGHT FINALS WEEK PROMOTION While looking for a fun way to get people talking about the fun environment of the Cecil Awards, we drew inspiration from Mountain Dew Kickstarts #GiveMeKicks promotion, where a mansized koala bear would deliver those who tweet- ed at the brand their own Kickstart. The Cecil Awards team will be doing its own take on that, and weve gotten Chapmans very own Pete the Panther on board. During fnal exams week lead- ing up to the event, every time a student tweets at the Cecil Awards account and uses #Kick- startYourNight, Pete the Panther will hand deliver a Mountain Dew Kickstart straight to the student on campus wearing a Cecil Awards shirt. Pete and the Cecils team will be swooping in at a time that students need a little pick me up, while also spreading the word of the show and pro- viding a fun, interactive way to consume Kick- start for what might be the students the frst time.
SHOW INTEGRATION Pre-party The pre-party will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will allow guests to stroll up, take a few pictures on our red carpet, and enjoy a few cocktails and appetizers before the show starts. With an elegant and classy atmosphere leading up to the show, weve decided to use Izze drinks and the Pepsi Mini Cans as the featured drinks for this part of the evening. STEP & REPEAT Students, families, and faculty who arrive early want to make sure to capture the night before it is too late, and what better place to do so than the Cecils red carpet? The displayed backdrop as all guests walk in for the pre-party and show will be the Pepsi Step & Repeat. The backdrop will display the Cecil Awards logo, the Dodge College logo, and the offcial Pepsi logo. This backdrop will be captured and shared through social media by The Cecil Awards as well as on the attendees personal profles. IZZE DRINKS & COCKTAIL MENU The sparkling quality of the three Izze products provides a taste thats above soda, yet still casual with its sweet favors. The Izze drinks are the perfect tone-setter before entering the show. Guests will have the options of drinking these, Pepsi Mini Cans, or order from a handcrafted cocktail menu exclusively using Izze products. All drinks, except for cocktails, will be handed out in the packaging, therefore creating Izze and Pepsi Mini Cans as a visual at the beginning of everyones nights.
SHOW INTEGRATION Immediately upon walking into Dodge Colleges very own Folino Theater, guests will see the screen set with the offcial Cecil Awards logo. As the show begins, guests will be encouraged to Tweet and Instagram about the event using the hashtag #KickstartYourNight. PEPSICO PRESENTED AWARDS To truly integrate PepsiCo into the evenings experience, there will be two awards presented exclusively by PepsiCo brands. EXCELLENCE IN PRODUCING Presented by Mountain Dew Kickstart This award captures the essence of Mountain Dew Kickstart for those young students who go out and truly make experiences happen. BEST FILM (GRAD & UNDERGRAD) Presented by Pepsi With the exclusive premier sponsorship comes an exclusive, attention getting honor: presenting the Best Film Award. This is the most talked about award leading up to the show, and Pepsi will be the brand associated with it.
the #KICKSTARTYOURNIGHT AFTER-PARTY From the moment the show ends, guests will be invited to celebrate the year s achievements and the night at the #KickstartYourNight After Party. To follow the hype created from last year s party, we will be featuring innovative and interactive placements of art and entertainment. From the entrance, to the drinks and the performers, Mountain Dew Kickstarts message of truly embracing the night will be carried throughout the entire experience.
STEP & REPEAT PEPSICO MENU Throughout the night, The Cecil Awards will create moments that attendees will want to capture and share through Insta- gram, Facebook, and Twitter. The frst chance is right as they enter the party with the #KickstartYourNight step & repeat. This will display the Dodge College logo, the Cecil Awards 2014 logo, and the Mountain Dew Kickstart Logo. This backdrop will greet all guests as they transition from the show to the party. With the premier sponsorship comes the opportunity to be the premier beverage of the night. Only PepsiCo brands will be sold and used. Attendees will be able to order Pepsi Mini Cans, Mountain Dew Kickstart, Izze products, or any of the handcrafted cocktails that are based on one of those prod- ucts. The proucts will never leave our guests sight, with each cocktail being poured directly in front of them. Those who are sticking to soda for the night, will carry around the Pepsi Mini Can. PHOTOBOOTH The Cecil Awards photo booth will be dedicated to connecting guests to the event, allowing them to share photos through social media, and integrating #KickstartYourNight. Each photo taken will be automatically emailed or texted directly to the guest with the Mountain Dew Kickstart logo and #KickstartYourNight at the bottom of the image. This will encourage immediate sharing of the experience and use of the hashtag.
